CONGRATULATIONS EQUESTRIAN WARRIOR! You have been called to a distant land, deep beyond the Everfree Forrest, To participate in the second annual Dark Tournament of Equestria! You, and fifteen other of this nation's finest fighters have been given this very special invitation to join in the blood bath! Of course, in compliance with the dark tournament rules, participation is not an option for you, so get ready for the fun time of your life!

Nothing's more fun than blood and guts, but we still need guidelines to make things run smooth:

Each warrior will compete tournament style in our special bracket. Four bloody victories and you win! What do you win, you ask? You can have one wish for anything you want from our honorable tournament committee!

The fight is won when one of three criteria are met:

• The opponent is dead
• The opponent has been out of the ring for more than ten seconds
• The opponent has been on the ground and not standing for more than ten seconds (However, if your opponent is incapacitated we encourage you to finish him/her off for the enjoyment of the fans. We musn't forget our torturing!)

AND THOSE ARE THE RULES! You may bring one of any weapon you want!

Dark Tournament 1 Recap (I suggest you read this even if you were in the last Dark Tournament):

Sixteen Warriors were called to participate in the first Dark Tournament. Among those sixteen were Standoff, a brutal fighter who quickly became the crowd favorite; and Swordpoint, a commonly hated contestant who showed mercy to all his opponents. Those two fought through the ranks and met each other in the championship round. Big Shot, the greedy head of the tournament committee, bet his entire fortune on Standoff's victory. Rail, the tournament director, bet the same on Swordpoint's victory. When Swordpoint won, Big Shot was ruined and Rail's fortune was doubled.

No one knows what he wants with all that money.


All sixteen players will be given a bracket before the tournament starts. I will have several fights going on at a time to keep things running fast. If a character doesn't respond in 48 hours, he is disqualified.

I'm celebrating my coming back with a big ol' roleplay! For those of you who remember either of the "Need for Heroes" action roleplays, this is going to be very similar.

The setting of this roleplay is, of course, in Canterlot. The time this takes place in isn't really specified, but if you want to play as a character from the show, I won't object.

Canterlot is not the beautiful city it was made to be. Crime festers in the lower parts of the city and corruption spreads among the higher class while the Royal Guard struggles to keep order. The citizens of Canterlot rarely leave their homes, and do so wearily. The city has become a breeding ground for villains. But their may yet be hope for heroes to emerge.

RULES:

• As should be expected in all RPs, Godmodding and Marry Sue characters are right out!
• Inappropriate content is discouraged, excessive inappropriate content is forbidden.
• Play your roles correctly! A Royal Guard character, for example, wouldn't go on a mission without reporting to his superiors.
• Arguments should be settled in PM conversations.
• Most importantly, have fun! If you have an idea that might make this more fun, don't be afraid to share it in the OOC.

Obviously I would use a Vulkar Shock stick from Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic. Sure, it was the worst weapon in the game and was incapable of doing anything useful in a fight, but I try to overlook technicalities.

Crimson sat silently behind rail, "i just saw the monitors in the hotel, no offense, but your boss is a dick....oh dont mind me, I just came here early to get a good seat for todays match.....and to ask you....what's your stake in all this? Are you really just big shots lacky? Or do you have your own agenda? Becouse let's be honest, you didn't have to save dash, you could've just sat there and watched, hell, I bet if you pointed that out to swordpoint you could've made him leave the ring and get disqualified.....but you didn't....so, why? Are you on big shots side, or are you secretly helping us? Asked crimson in a serious tone. Crimson grinned and stopped his interogation when he saw swordpoint, "go back to your business brother, ive got this taken care of, I'm just here to have a little talk with rail..." said crimson, before turning to rail again, "now....about my question..." said crimson seriously.

"I own this stadium. I own this tournament." Rail said. "Big Shot is under my employment, as is the entire tournament committee. It is unfortunate that employment and control are so wildly different. Why do you ask as if you see me as a threat? I'm no fighter. You could easily stop me." A light green unicorn stepped down the stairs to Rail's side. He had dark red hair and yellow eyes.

 

He spoke quietly to Rail. "It's time to go..."

 

(Hellllllo guys, its almost been a day since the last reply. Do you guys want me to speed things up and skip to the next day? I'm getting a little scared that this topic may be lost just like all of the other rps I've tried to host In the past... Sad face. Do I need to change something?)

Swordpoint awoke with a start and quickly checked next to him. Rainbow was there, sleeping peacefully. He rose from the bed carefully and walked to the balcony. He slid the doors open silently and stepped onto the ledge. He was staying on the third floor, and he could see little but trees around him. "The battle is tomorrow... this will give me enough time to search for their portal into the nexus. If I can only find it, I may close it. Then... we have nothing to fear from them."

 

He glanced back at Rainbow. She was snoring softly. He smiled before taking off into the sky. He flew in the direction of the arena.

Rail was sitting alone in one of the vacant seats of the empty stadium. He was the only soul inside. Even the janitors had departed. He had an unlit cigarette hanging from his lip. It drooped down as he looked to the sky. "What a pretty day..." He said absently.

 

 

 

The small televisions in the hotel were tuned to the forest's only channel, a public broadcasting station sponsored by the tournament.

 

"Well, of course maintaining fairness is our number one priority..." Big Shot was saying in an interview that must have been recorded a week earlier. "And that means staying out of the fights as much as possible."

 

"What about the moral issues you've been facing?" The reporter asked. "Are the rumors true that every participant is forced to fight? Do they have a choice of their own?"

 

"What moral issues?" Big Shot asked. "I assure you, all of the fighters are here voluntarily! Ponies kill each other all the time! And it's about time that we got some damn entertainment out of it!"

So... They're scared of us.

Lol, that's definitely an interesting turn of events. Cosmo was originally worried about pissing off the fans but figured it didn't matter. A descision that certainly came back to bite me in the flank.

Seriously, you aren't going to make some rule like, "No magic in this fight!" are you? If Cosmo hears that, he's walking away.

They can bend the rules, but they can't make up new ones. Topaz would throw a fit if they did that.

 

Right now it's the next day and you should be at the hotel.

The sun began to fade and night fell over the stadium. The next day would be the only day of rest for the four last contestants. The night was short and cold, and the next day began as peacefully as the last.

This a conversation for OOC thread. Unfortunately, yes, I'm not always clear with how I say things, so I don't think my question came out right. I understand Rail isn't ok with the rigging the tournament ideas of the committee. My question was:

Why does the committee see Cosmo as a threat?

 

That info did me give some new understanding of the tournament, though. For example I thought Rail was IN CHARGE of the committee (and I know what it's like posting on a phone and not having color or bold text lol). The Juri is Shales' daughter was also interesting, though I knew about Topaz being Rail's little girl. So is Juri a little kid like Topaz? I imagined her as some 23-24 year old, decent looking, secretary mare.

They want the last fight to be between Radio and Standoff simply because of the fans. if you or Swordpoint were to be in the final fight, they believe that the gamblers would bet too favorably on your opponent, and they will lose money. Ratings are also a factor. Big Shot also holds the personal belief that either Cosmo or Swordpoint must be responsible for Penny Pincher's murder.

Not sure if it's even happening (Haven't been reading too much... Sadly...), but I think it might be a good idea if we have tag team or double's matches, it might force enemies to work together and help develop characters!

Its a bit too late for that. There's only four contestants left. The next dark tournament I'm thinking of making teams of three, though.

(OOC: I thought it was odd that he was being nice to a competitor and then calling him a threat that needed to be removed. Btw, what did Cosmo do to make them upset? His conversation with Swordpoint?)Cosmo had little else to do so he looked for awhile and finally found a young mare named Cinder Slash, one of the ponies supporting him. "Good evening Cinder." She didn't know he was there so she was surprised to see him, "Cos.. um.. Shadesteel!" she stuttered, unsure how to address him, "What brings you here?" Cosmo smirked and told her, "You can call me Cosmo, but I need some help. You mention earlier you do freelance work right?" She seemed a bit disappointed but she nodded, "I'm worried about my friend Swordpoint, or really his marefriend. I'm hoping you could keep an eye out for her, just make sure thugs like the ones from earlier don't bother her and stuff like that." Cinder considered for a moment and agreed, "Okay but my services aren't free." Cosmo nodded but as he reached for his wallet, Cinder quickly kissed him on the lips. He looked up and she was smiling with a flirty look in her eye, "Anyone else you need me to look after?" Cosmo returned her expression and simply said, "I'll try to think of someone later," and with that he returned to his room for the night.(OOC: Swordpoint has Rainbow Dash, Crimson has his Dad, Bad Dreams had her team, Goldre had her other form, Standoff has Red, I wanted a non-contestant for Cosmo to interact with! }:[ lol)

(Rail wasn't the one that said he was a threat that needs to be removed. That was a minatour in the tournament committee. Rail isn't a member of the committee. The real asshole is Big Shot, the smelly old guy in the purple suit. When I'm not posting on a phone, Big Shots quotes are in purple. Rail is nice to the contestants, but he really doesn't care if you die, he's insane, but it doesn't show very much. By the way, Topaz is Rail's daughter and Juri is Shales daughter. Still confused?)

 

"Sorry to say this, bud," Big Shot said to Rail, "You may own this place, but I'm in charge. The Semi Finals start the day after tomorrow, and we're picking the winners!"

Big Shot and the other members of the committee were still in there meeting. "We'll, if we're manipulating these next two rounds, why not put a little money on it?" Big Shot suggested.

 

BANG!' The door to the office swung open and crashed into the agacent wall. Rail was at the door.

 

"I don't like the way you play, Big Shot!" He said. For the first time, he was displaying emotion; and the emotion he showed was pure hatred.

 

(For those of you wondering, both Rail and the tournament committee are villains, but Rail is more along the lies of 'Evil Has Standards')

((I understood what you meant.  Anyway, I'm going to drop out.  I honestly don't have time and if this keeps going, this fight is going to take forever and I won't be on for about two weeks  after the 21st. Since we both can only get about a post on a day, I can't do it.  I hope you understand))

 

Midnight felt funny.  She smelled something like chemicals.  "Really?  You call this fighting?  All you're doing is-" Midnight Glow collasped.  She started shaking violently and her neon aqua eyes no longer had a sparkle to them.  All she saw before she lost consciousness is her parents looking at her from the crowd.

"Nine and ten!" Juri finished her count down at the exact moment that Imajin hit the ground. "And the winner by glorious knockout is Radioactive tragedy!"

 

"Alright fans, that was the last match up of round two!" Topaz announced. "The Semi Finals will begin on the day after tomorrow. Don't be late!"

 

 

 

"I'll make the necessary arrangements to ensure that Swordpoint does not advance past the semi finals." Said Shale, a personal friend of Big Shot. "If all goes as planned, he will be eliminated alongside Cosmo. Neither will advance."
