It would be great if philosophy classes were more often laid out thematically instead of just delving into the works of Hume, Kant, and Descartes (among others).
My 7th grade english/social studies teacher was very philosophical. We examined philosophies around one theme for a few months, then moved to the next, etc.
Definitely better than being told to read the ramblings of random philosophers whose ideas are many times mutually exclusive and contradictory. I think the latter approach does more to deter people from pursuing philosophy than anything else.
