    It just came to my attention that Windigo Whisperer has been featured on FIMFiction.net! 

    I just discovered this when I was browsing the Featured section out of curiosity, wondering how the story was able to get 1,000 views so quickly, and here I find my dream from eight years ago finally coming true!  I can't explain why this story has been so successful...but people have shown their support for it, so I'm going to thank them by continuing to give them what they want!

    Strange MLP Dream

    I had the weirdest pony-related dream last night. In it, King Sombra was on this snowy plain looking up at the moon. Three eyes were on the moon with yellow, blue, pink, and white colors. A fourth eye appeared on it, and something that looked like Pinkie Pie's soul appeared in that eye when the view moved closer to the moon. When the view moved back to Sombra, he had this concerned look on his face before souls came out of the eyes on the moon and went into his eyes, turning them green with his purple haze exuding from them. 
    I don't remember if this my first time dreaming about pony or not, but I know for sure I've never had a pony dream THAT BIZARRE before.

    “I’m prepared for whatever hell the world will throw at me in 2021.”
    Well, I’m glad I was prepared, since this year, in my honest and humble opinion, was even worse for the world than 2020. However, for my personal life, it honestly wasn’t a major downgrade.
    There were downgrades, of course, the most notable one, no surprise if you keep up with my status updates and blogs, being work this year. The labor crisis and the inflation crisis combined really screwed with my job this year, just like it did for a lot of people. I stupidly tried to quit my job out of principle to move on to something with better pay after a misunderstanding in spring, then had to get my old job back after two new jobs I tried didn’t work out. Thankfully, getting my old job back went very smoothly, and even though I wasn’t able to work as much this year, I still made enough money to surpass my savings goal. It was a low savings goal of four grand, but this year still managed to be my second most profitable, even as it paled in comparison to last.
    For relationships with my family and friends, I encountered no major issues with my relatives and no issues at all with my friends this year. My older brother’s been unfortunately getting more distant, but when I got to see my older sister for Thanksgiving, I was immensely elated to see that she really has turned her life around like I’ve been told, at least mostly. I was a bit worried about my little brother at the end of the year when I heard he was coming down with an illness, but he quickly recovered from it, and soon after that, I got to go on vacation to Las Vegas for the second time this year. I will also always remember this year as the year I made friends with one of my favorite artists in the MLP fandom known as EnigmaDoodles.
    For petty achievements, I got ten games done this year, some of those being very long and very hard. Absolute shame Dark Souls II had to kill my save file right at the end of the year, but no way am I giving up on that. For my art, I felt I made some more noticeable improvements with my art this year and made my most viewed digitally drawn MLP picture. For my writing, I finished my most popular story of all time, wrote another story that was nowhere near as viewed, but well-received, and will always hold a special place in my heart for how I was able to get EnigmaDoodles to do the art for it in addition to giving me writing pointers, and wrote a fan theory that far surpassed my projections in viewership, getting more than triple the hits of the one preceding it. Enigma was impressed with it too.
    Fairly adequate year for me I believe, despite the miring of my work and moderate miring of my family relationships, discounting the improvement with my sister. Absolutely awful for the world, again, however. I truly do hope 2022 does something to finally break the mold of this dark age. Still prepped for hell though, I wish you all the best.

    I mentioned in a status update that I couldn't believe I just wrote a 3,000-word pilot for a Human in Equestria story about Windigos. I have not read a single HiE story in recent times besides I Am Not Sombra and only very recently decided to take a shot in the dark at the genre. What I can't believe even more than what I wrote is how something I felt was guaranteed to bomb horribly has been received so positively that an artist actually left a comment wanting to do a commissioned cover for the story.

    Today, for the first time in history, I did something I had never done in eleven years. 

    As of now, CloudMistDragon has become "Misty Shadow". The reason I decided on this name is not just because I could end up potentially merging with the DA account that is archiving my stuff, but also because I feel it works as both a good simplified version of that account's name and the name I've used for so long. Changing it today, I feel was the perfect timing too, since my blog just hit 10,000 views. In light of these events, this blog will now be renamed "Misty's Diary".

    Got almost a thousand dollars back in taxes today, paid my rent, and still have thousands of dollars to burn.  I never, ever thought I'd see the day where I'd have family pressure to stay and help out as opposed to having family pressure to move out.

    A lot of you probably saw from my status updates that I finally got a PS5!  When I told my friend from Puerto Rico in a Discord chat today, he literally couldn't believe it. Here are the pictures in case you missed the status updates. 

    Admittedly, I did have to get it for $670 instead of $500 on eBay, but it was by far the best deal I had seen after keeping an eye on it for months. Something else good you might have seen from a status update yesterday was my work ditching a verification/test program they would've implemented because of the OSHA mandate that's now been retracted, but that's not the only good work-related news I have to share. I also won another award!


    The first award I got was back in late 2019. I was also recommended for one the year after, but things were weird then when the epidemic everyone knows hit, and the year after that was when I tried to move on to another job. But this year, I finally got myself another! 
    Also, the friend I mentioned earlier told me something really cool about a site I used to go on. I can't go into explicit detail, but it looks like I'm finally going to get some closure about something from the past after all these years. It's truly shocking how I've been hit with all this good news after something actually pretty bad happened to me not too long ago. Someone who I thought cared about me abruptly blocked/unfollowed/unfriended me from every site we were both on without any explanation. Thankfully, I was able to get a friend of his to agree to talk to him, so it really hasn't put much of a damper on the good stuff. I'm still happy about everything else right now regardless!

    I actually had two pretty mediocre days at work this week. One day, I had this guy come over to me, pestering me with this uncomfortable talk about relationships and asking me if I was into "f'ing girls" when I clearly wanted him to stop. Of course, the next day, work abruptly throws me into prep for the whole day...where they had me folding and packing ladies' underwear. God has a perverse sense of humor.  Thankfully, I finally got a paid day off approved from my work in the next two weeks, so there's my silver lining. It didn't even have to be paid, since I'm not concerned about money at the moment. With all the games I could ever ask for right now, I only buy fun stuff online when I see a good deal. Speaking of which...
    ...I got a copy of Pokemon Emerald for just 13 dollars off of eBay recently.  While it's possibly a reproduction cart, it looks brand new, works perfectly, the save battery isn't dry, and sellers on Amazon are now scalping it for well over 90 dollars (even reproduction carts are at least 30 dollars). I got my old copy of Pokemon Sapphire that my little brother lost for 21 dollars at a trade store back in the day. I am dead serious, I got a flea market deal, the kind of thing you should get on an old game like that. I used to be stuck in a shell of only buying things off Amazon back when I had this misconception of eBay as "just an auction site", thank God I know better now.

    Tao: Strange Dream

    Something really weird happened to me in a dream last night. It was 3:45 AM in the morning. I got the Collection of SaGa: Final Fantasy Legend for a discount price at the Nintendo eShop and was trying to think of names for my characters for a replay of Final Fantasy Legend I. The name, Tao, came to mind because I like the character, Tao Ren, from Shaman King, a stellar animanga series that has recently been re-released. For some odd reason, I looked up the word, "Tao", and started reading a few things about Taoism. The last thing I looked at before I went to bed was the Chinese symbol for Tao. First, I was having this nonsense dream about Resident Evil with a nonsense conflict about blowing up a mansion like in the game. Then abruptly, the dream transitioned into another dream that was just darkness, where this old man was whispering something to me inside my mind, something about sensing small ghosts. I felt like my soul was separate from my mind, looking at my brain as I saw these small spirits in the darkness around me before I woke up. Unlike my out-of-body experience in June though, when I woke up feeling completely drained, I felt COMPLETELY REFRESHED despite the fact that it was still dark out in the early morning. 
    The weirdest part is that I HAVE looked up and read stuff about Taoism out of curiosity in the past without having bizarre experiences like that in my sleep. The timing of that dream was just really freaky.

    I also wanted to do this after watching all the episodes more than once because I didn't just want the writing in the review to be just right, I wanted all my thoughts to be just right as well. This chapter deserves that extra polish for a review. It's that awesome.

    I mentioned in my last blog that I was potentially getting a raise, and now, I officially am getting one. 

    Although it's not that much extra money, it's certainly going to add up, and I am grateful to have any raise in pay. I was also extremely happy to see that I am now officially recognized as a top performer. My supervisor told me that I'm one of the top performers out of seven. Honestly, the boon this has been to my feeling of self-worth is more valuable to me than the money.

    I had another strange pony-related dream last night. This time, it took place in the realm of G5 with everything animated Tell Your Tale style. Hitch had Sunny come up to him and tell him she needed him to call out for work for something she wanted all of her friends to do. For some reason, Hitch had a boss he needed to call to explain a situation to, and because he's a workaholic who had never called out of work before in this dream apparently, he stood by the phone the entire day hesitating nervously (yeah, the dream was trying to be a sitcom gag at first). When he finally plucked up the courage to make the callout, the boss, an old blue pony with white hair, started berating him, getting Hitch angry. And then for no reason, out of nowhere, Naruto was on the line yelling in this robotic voice, "I'M CALLING OUT! I FEEL NO EVIL!". Curious as I was to see what in the world was going to happen next, right then is when my phone alarm woke me up.

    Had a nightmare last night that I think might have been worse than the one with my mother and the guns. I dreamt that I was a kid again and my dad was still with my mom. A war had erupted in my country and my parents had to pack everyone in the car to drive us to a "safe place". We drove through this warzone filled with snow, fire, and explosions to this "safe place" that turned out to be a prison. I started screaming at the top of my lungs at my parents as the prison guards restrained me and then I woke up. 
    I have no idea why I keep having nightmares this terrible. I'm not sure why repressed childhood trauma would be resurfacing now.

    Back in 2017, my mom went completely nuts and came up to my room with a gun, talking about killing her boss. Last night, I had a nightmare where something similar happened. She came up to me pointing a gun and I pointed a gun back. Then she pulled out another gun, and all of a sudden, she gave me both guns and told me to shoot her. Short nightmare, but easily the scariest one I've had in my life.

    I dreamed last night that I was touring Rome with my uncle. As we were about to enter this temple, these two guys from the mafia dressed in black suits pointed guns at us, telling us to get down on the ground and give them all of our money. I kneeled down on the ground, but I didn't have my wallet on me, so I was just about to reach into my pockets to show I didn't have anything. However, just then, my uncle tried to fight the other mobster with his own gun. He took a bullet to the leg while he shot the gangster in the eye. Then, suddenly, both the mobsters were gone. I was about to tell my uncle that I didn't even have my wallet on me while he was lying by the stairs before the building from the bullet wound before I woke up. 
    I don't usually have dreams with realistically violent, scary situations like that. Maybe it's from all the Yakuza I've played and all the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind I've been reading lately.

    Yeah, I had another weird pony dream, another dream where I was a younger version of myself, and another dream where Rikifive's name came up. This time, he wasn't "Rikifiveguy". I was watching this episode of MLP: FiM with my sister that was titled "Rikifive" for some reason. The only things I remember while watching it were this weird opening sequence where Discord turns Shaggy from Scooby-Doo into a plant and this scene where a 3D-animated Twilight was talking to this robot shark with a full set of gold teeth. The shark made a joke about its teeth that I don't remember and then I heard music blasting from my little brother's room. I had to tell him to stop and put him in bed and I don't remember what happened after that.

    Pipp the Poltergeist, the "ghostified" Pipp from my latest story, was in a dream of mine last night. I dreamed I was with Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show in this resort's outdoor pool area. Rigby was complaining about this coffee he got when Pipp the Poltergeist showed up and started telling us to chase her. We gave chase, and this song about ice cream started playing. I can only remember one part of the song distinctly, where during the chorus, someone is saying, "Ice cream's great! Yeah, ice cream's great!". Then, all of a sudden, I was in a movie theater where this guy dressed in white robes like a priest was selling movie tickets and I don't remember what happened after that.

    I wrote a G5 comedy story around this time last year, and now, I've done another this summer. This one isn't about summer specifically though, this is a sketch compilation story with a plot about Sunny and her friends telling stories to each other at a diner as a wraparound.

Thankfully, most of my DA-exclusive stuff is backed up, and after talking with a friend who is a very active DA user, we've decided that this user will be given my express permission to upload my removed and unreleased content.

    I had a dream last night about Hunter X Hunter coming back. It was about me reading this volume where Kurapika was having to deal with this crazy, evil cannibal family (shockingly, it was the kind of thing I could imagine actually happening in the series considering) and then going on to read this author's note at the end by Yoshihiro Togashi explaining about why the series had been on its longest hiatus yet. Boy, was I PO'd when I woke up and realized the dream wasn't real. Then later, I found this out...
    Yeah, pretty freaky. Even freakier was how the morning before, I felt an intense vibration come over me and the feeling of something coming over to my bed and tapping on one of my toes. Just in time for Halloween...

    Guess I'm making a blog series out of these horrific nightmares since they just keep coming. I was fully expecting one for the Halloween season though. This time, I dreamed last night that I met the ghost of a girl in an elevator. I had to solve some kind of puzzle that led to me bending nails with my teeth. I went to another floor and came back in the elevator, where the ghost told me I was going to die. She used a telekinetic power to try and stab the nails I had in my mouth through my throat and I spat them out along with a tooth. Eventually, she used her powers to start choking me to death and then I woke up.

    For the first time in my life last night, I had a dream about Halloween just in time for the holiday. I dreamed that I was in this apartment playing this Yu-Gi-Oh! game where I was rebuilding this AI partner's deck that had 80 cards for some reason. Jazz was there decorating the place for a Halloween party when I noticed that there was something behind this room. It led me to where my older brother and Sora were fighting this demon. We made it disappear somehow and Sora cried something out, leading me to comment on his "girly yell". My older brother started chastising me, and for some bizarre reason, started saying something about "buttsex". And I yelled, "What does Sora's voice being shrill have to do with buttsex?", leading us to fall to the ground laughing. Later, back with Jazz, she volunteered to get everyone in the apartment a Halloween costume after stressing how important it was for everyone to dress up. These two ponies had ghost costumes made for them, and then when the party began, I saw Sunny Starscout (as she appears in Make Your Mark) not wearing her Nightmare Moon costume, but this cardboard sign explaining why she wasn't in her costume with this cute joke that I wish I could remember. Unfortunately, I don't remember anything else after that.
