Well, it looks like Toho is gonna make another godzilla movie it'll be coming out on the 3rd of November, 2023, 1 year before the big G's 70th anniversary. (Well, it's bout time!!! MY GOD. the last one they made was in 2016 / shin godzilla. more on that later. I knew they were gonna make one before his 70th anniversary) for those of you who dont know, today is the 68th anniversary of Godzilla. well, I'm glad we're gonna get another JAPANESE Godzilla film. I dunno bout you, but I never really liked the design of monsterverse goji. IMO, he looks really fat, chubby and a bit overweight, and it's not exactly the most intimidating design, especially when you compare it to burning G, GMK and shin godzilla. speaking of shin godzilla, I REALLY hope they knock it out of the park with this one. I watched shin godzilla a couple of years ago and it was SO BORING!!! OMG!!! LITERALLY, 98% of the movie is just japanese politics and people talking, and 2% of it is shin godzilla. when he is on screen, it is visually stunning, but you have to sit through SO MUCH BORING dialogue just to get to the good parts, and I just dont think that is fair to the viewer. IMO, The Return Of Godzilla did a much better job. they kept the political parts short and they were straight to the point. I guess it's a cultural thing, but...I really hope we get more godzilla and less of the political side of things, and maybe have godzilla fight a kaiju this time around. we havent seen godzilla fight against another kaiju in a live action movie since godzilla final wars. and yes, I am fully aware that Legendary Pictures IS producing a sequel to godzilla VS kong in 2024. I REALLY hope the plot is simple to follow and it's straight to the point. I mean, usually, the plot in these movies is pretty bare bones, and it's all bout the monsters fighting against each other, and the humans and how they are going to stop them, but...the plot in Godzilla Singular Point was a monochromatic mess.
f*cking hell!!! I watched that a couple of years ago and I was planning to watch the original subbed version and...the first episode took me an hour to watch it. I tried to understand the plot, but it ended up giving me a head-ache. I had no choice but to watch the dubbed version and...I still had NO idea what the plot was bout. it was SO notoriously complicated that it just ended up being scientific jargon. it should've been a simple anime where the people have to come together to figure out a way to deal with the kaiju. that's it. that's not what we got for singular point. I really wanted to say that it was better than Godzilla VS Kong, but it wasnt. I really hope they keep it nice and simple with this movie. and I hope it is dark and serious.
(I think this is something you might like @TheRockARooster, @kaijubronyyt and @Firefighter Equine)
(ngl, this is WAY better than the one we got last year!!! ^w^)

Well, that certainly was CGI heavy. Looked good in some shots, but I wouldn't want to see a whole movie like this, not unless the whole thing is a cartoon. Super Sentai's CGI has shifted into a style VERY similar to thigs. When it gets too heavy, it just doesn't look right contrasted against the live action parts. It's a balancing act. CGI should enhance the practical visuals and create things that just cannot be made practically, not be visual a crutch.
I have a lot of thoughts on Godzilla and what directions the stories should take. I'll spare you a long rant and just say this... Some of the things you said with, I agree with. Other things, I disagree with, but respect your out look all the same. It definitely depends on where your mindset is at the time.
Part of me actually wants to see a sequel to Shin Godzilla. After the rise of Shin Ultraman and Shin Kamen Rider, there's been rumors that there's a Shin Cinematic Universe in the works, and I would LOVE to see all these things and more come together for a massive crossover like no one has ever seen before! But I'm patient and open minded, so I'll take whatever we can get.

@Firefighter Equine IF they are gonna make a sequel to shin godzilla, can we get the 5th form and shin ghidorah? I've heard bout this shin ghidorah that they used in a ride in japan and I'd honestly would like to see it in a live action movie. from what they've said, Shin Godzilla is constantly evolving, ironing out its weaknesses / imperfections, and I remember there was one part in the movie where they mentioned given enough time, it could grow wings and fly to another continent. IF they do make a sequel to shin godzilla, it's gonna be a horror movie with those...things coming out of its tail O_O
also...they released this not too long ago(idk how long this is gonna be up for before Toho blocks this, but I really hope you get the chance to see this)

In some ways, I like that video a little better. You can just feel how real those suits and practical effects. But did you notice that Godzilla's been getting taller after all these years?
In that short movie, the tallest builds just barely reach up to Goji's head. In newer iterations, like that CGI short, the world is just Goji's open toy box.
