I could be wrong but I think Tara Strong was only in FiM because Lauren Faust wanted her to be on the show and almost everyone else lived in Canada.

I think it's probably cheaper for Hasbro to produce their shows in Canada.

My One True Paring(s) would be both the Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls versions of Applejack and Rarity. 

I would tell them to start watching Friendship is Magic from the very beginning so, they'll get the full experience. 

My other choice would be to start from the season 4 finale and work backwards. 

The characters and songs are my favorite thing about My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic.

Another thing I wouldn't be too keen on is if they started another "School of Friendship" type of storyline introducing non-pony characters.

I don't know how things would have gone for me if I'd known about FiM when it was just getting started,

I do know that @Kyoshi was the one who got me started with sigs and fan art so I wouldn't be in that part of the fandom yet. 

I feel like I joined at the perfect time a couple of weeks before Twilight's coronation where I was able to pretty much make up my own mind

about Twilicorn, Equestria Girls and all of the "drama" on my own without being influenced by people's  opinions.
