I don't know if I should continue with vet tech school. I keep hearing from others in the field on how low the pay can be for vet techs. Also, will I still enjoy being a vet tech 10 years from now? I sometimes think I'd be happier going to auto tech school or even welding instead. I'd rather turn my hobby of working on my truck, and auto mechanics in general, into a career. But then at the same time I really enjoy working with animals and am doing well in my classes. I really enjoy learning biology, chemistry, animal anatomy, etc. I'm just feeling so torn.
Urgh.

Honestly I dunno what to say. Since you are already doing the vet thing, maybe just continue with that and finish it. Atleast then you have qualifications of some kind to get a job. You can pursue the auto mechanics afterwards.
The thing I noticed it that at first you might not be earning that much, but as you get more experienced, you'll end up earning a lot more.
Say for me, I want to become a doctor (if I do become a doctor is an entirely different story). When I leave uni and start I probably won't earn much more than the average pay in the country, but as you get more experienced, you'd start working towards and hopefully reaching six digit numbers for annual pay.
