That is true and I can understand that. However, I'd still have to disagree as this is what he focuses on. We never see him notice he hasn't been paying much attention to her and the main focus was on them not having anything in common. Basically, I was annoyed by the fact he seemed rather oblivious to the fact he hadn't been including her.

Ya, but the reason why he hasn’t been including her is more important. If she didn’t have that fear, then none of this would have happened. Him acknowledging and being afraid that they don’t have anything in common shows that he isn’t oblivious. At least to me.
