@Twilight and Starlight I don't like the fact that the episode made the audience think they were going to see some big, cool, and new change then at the end was like, "just kidding." I can certainly understand why but it was really disappointing and I was hoping this season would be about Twilight adjusting to her new role, with Celestia and Luna's help. But that's just my opinion. The episode really disappointed me but it had some good moments and took a lot of risks, which I can appreciate.

@Captain Clark Yep. I just find it a bit too overexaggerated and not interesting. Like, I get were in a magical world with talking ponies but some logic still applies. Are we seriously supposed to believe this actually happened? It felt more like a tall tale to me than a story based off of something that actually occurred. Plus, it's hard to enjoy it when this story happened because Apple Bloom made a mistake and lied because she was embarrassed. It was similar to Apple Jack's story yet Apple Jack did it to sell the juice and Apple Bloom's was because she lost track of what went into which crate. Apple Jack's was premeditated, Apple Bloom's was a simple mistake. I felt like Apple Jack was being way too hard on Apple Bloom tbh.

I didn’t say it was a good response. I’ve said twice already that I didn’t agree with it. Exactly pick your battles and they chose to pick it and they failed so they suffered the repercussions they didn’t know they would face because they honestly thought their methods would show Trixie “hey you’re not better than everyone else because of your skills.”
I also don’t see how it is immature. Someone/somepony is being problematic so you call them out on their problems (I don’t think they did it the right way but it doesn’t take away from the fact that Trixie was being problematic). I would say not watching the show/talking about it in secret later allows for more problems to be bred and allows for ponies to tolerant such undesirable behavior.
Also if it’s not their place to criticize Trixie then whose place is it? Again I agree their actions weren’t very humbling but they definitely had a cause to upstart a debate/argument.

I'd have to disagree. Also, I wouldn' say it was Starlight having a fear. She was right to be pissed off at him for not including her. I believe she should have said something, yet I believe none of this wouldn't have happened if they had communicated. That shows he isn't oblivious so, as you said, them not having anything in common not him not including her. Not having anything in common can be the cause of someone not including another person but that's not always the case. Also, just because you recognize one does not mean you recognize the other. To me, it showed just that, that he wasn't oblivious to them no having anything in common. What it did not show me was him realizing he hadn't been including her.
To help explain my point, if Sunburst up front had told me I was upset because of this my response would be, "No. I'm fine with us not having things in common. My issue is the fact you've been hanging out with all my friends and barely paying attention to me despite the fact you came to see me. I'm fine with us having different interest, I just wish you would have tried to include me a bit more." Again, I know Starlight should have said something but my point is that one does not always equal the other. Just because you have an issue with one does not mean you have an issue with the other.

Finally finished the notecards I was working on for my research paper. Hopefully, this whole thing won't put me through the ringer too much and I'll still be able to watch the final when it comes out (if it hasn't already :P)
