I am so heartbroken right now. One of our cats passed away tonight. He wasn't himself all evening and eventually just went limp. The only movement we got our of him in his last 3 hours was he barely moved his head when dad mentioned if he wanted any treats. I'll never forget the look on his face when you shook his can of treats.
We got him about 5 years ago when he was a kitten. He had snuck up into the engine compartment of my mom's car without us knowing and when we got home we heard a meowing and we popped the hood and he took off to the neighbors house and climbed under her truck and I spent an hour laying under the truck waiting for him to crawl into my hands.
He always laid in front of the door and waited for me to get home from high school and when I started going to college, he would go into my room and cried for the first couple days I was gone and would always be waiting when I'd get home from college late at night on a weekend to sit in my lap.
He would bolt out the door given the opportunity too but learned pretty quick once he got out there every time that he didn't really want to be out there and wanted back inside. One time he got out right before we went on vacation and it rained the whole time and when we got back 3 days later he was laying on the porch and ran up to the car when we parked. He spent that night on top of mom's pillow soaked from the rain. He was so happy to be home again and we were so happy to have him back but now he's gone for good.
He had been fighting allergies for the last year and a half but when he was on medication he was such a fun loving cat and super curious. Every time my dad got ice cream he's be right there next to him to lick off the other side of the cone. But in the last month he lost weight like crazy, went from 6 pounds to 3 and a half and when mom took him to the vet tonight cause he couldn't walk, we found out he probably had a form of cancer that we never knew about and that's what got to him finally.
Anyway I rambled long enough and I have 2 week old kittens to go feed.
RIP TC, I hope you have lots of nerf darts to bat around up there.
