    @flutterJackdashOkay, now I'm beginning to doubt myself. The fanfic is less of a take on the actual events of the show and more of "I thought it would be cool if King Sombra were Alexander Hamilton" and the rest grew from there. Is that okay?

    Hey, I'm new here and wanted to share a fanfiction in the Nightmare Night fanfic contest. Unfortunately, whenever I click on the link that's supposed to take me to the place I'm supposed to submit, a picture of zecora comes up. Given that this photo is Halloween themed and that there seem to be some hints at this being intentional in the responses to the post, I'm left to assume this is some kind of elaborate treasure hunt for the submission requirements. Now, I may be wrong- but if I'm right: why aren't people being warned they have to do this to enter their fanfiction? If anything it seems like this would frustrate people and decrease participation in the event. Thank you for a moment of your time.

    Okay, so I've been told "welcome to the herd" twice now, so I'm guessing it's something people say on this forum to welcome new people, but hear me out: The only thing I can think of is the Ice Age movies. (But seriously, thank you to everyone who's welcomed me so far!) And just checking: are we allowed to swear on this forum? I accidentally did in an earlier response to this post, and I just wanted to check that I don't need to censor myself.

    Torture of loved ones, being deprived of a need (food or water) until you can't take it anymore, complete isolation in a stark white room with no visible entrances or exits, aaaaaand- having to live through your school years again. All of them. No skipping out on the classes you did worst in.

    Hey, I'm TheRealAmeliaEarhart and um... yeah. I'm not an avid fan, yet I know way more than I should about the lore. I'm writing a three book fanfiction that's dark, far from cannon compliant, and villain centric. So... yeah.

    Hey, so I've been thinking about writing an MLP fanfic because I know a lot about the lore but have always had a few reasons why the series wasn't for me, and I wanted to write something those inside and outside of the fandom would enjoy. The fanfiction is a darker version of My Little Pony that acts as an alternate history focused on the villains. I have three books planned, and the first one is Hamilton inspired. The Mane Six don't feature prominently, because I didn't want to destroy what Lauren Faust created with the Mane Six and gen 4. I would appreciate input! Thanks!
