general Where is all those users in the past?

It makes me wonder where did all those users of the forum went. Because in a post i wrote someone replied that there are so many users you can even see the end of schooltime in different time zone all over the world. So why does such popularity ends with forty thousand user now? Where are those guys and where's all those posts sent before? Did the poniverse server deleted its data? -
