How do I Write Fan Fiction?

My Advice: Write how and what you already know. Nobody likes a cookie cutter fanfic, and you seem like you have an interesting writing background. I'd say try applying your style to fiction. Other than that the biggest tips I can offer: - No "Mary Sue" OC's - if you make your own character, don't have them be the coolest best most perfect thing on the planet - No self insertion - Just start writing and see what happens, stories can take on a life and direction of their own. -

Honestly I don't think I could watch the show without Rarity...lol I love her, you might get the inkling from my username. And I couldn't pick Dash or AJ, because I'm an AppleDashtard, and obviously not pinkie...I can't bring myself to pick! If hasbro called me up and said ok it's your responsibility to pick one of the mane 6 for elimination and obviously it cant be Twi because she's the main character...I guess I'd have to say *tears* Fluttershy. I feel horrible for saying that. -

not much to say...a friend showed me this site and I wanted to join the herd so to speak. Also, I'm having trouble importing a custom avatar. I made sure the file was right, both in dimension and size, but it keeps telling me it's too big...do I have to have a certain number of posts or something before I can have an avatar? Anyway, hello everyone. Oh yeah, and I'm a fanfiction addict, send me your fics!!!

I, like others, really recommend my little dashie. Some of My other favorites that I would higly recommend are: Tiny Wings, Her Majesty Walks, and Bubbles (warning those are sad stories)...oh and A Rose Reverie (very good if you like plot twists) I know you said you don't like grimdark fics, but if you want to try the ultimate one I'd recommend "A Fun Day!"...it's 10x worse than cupcakes but extremely funny if you have the right sense of humor.
