I'm more of a fan of the Megaman RPGs myself, namely Battle Network where all the robot masters are instead AI programs fighting viruses in a world where pretty much everything is connected to the internet and Starforce, which takes place a two hundred years in the future from Battle Network where they focus more on alien beings called EM Beings who can merge with humans (known as EM Wave Change) into super powered beings.

As for the other series, I've played the Zero games (not that I was any good at them!), X1, X5 and X6, ZX Advent and Megaman 9 & 10.

While I've never really played Battle Network I love the Star Force games. I've held out a tiny thread of hope that we'll get a new one someday but that hope is pointless when you consider the Megaman series itself is all but dead.

Also, you've played ZX Advent but not the original ZX? For shame. Vent > whatshisname from Advent.

  2. Metal is the one true genre. All others pale in comparison. Though I'll listen to just about anything given the mood.

Lately my favorite artists have been Children of Bodom, Five Finger Death Punch, and Disarmonia Mundi. My favorites change around a lot based on what I listen to most often though.

On the off chance I'm not listening to metal I tend to gravitate towards Trance and other music that makes me want to dance. A little Peaches & Cream here, a dash of Lady Gaga there. Sometimes some good ol' Celtic jigs.

  3. Finished The Ambition Of Oda Nobuna. I knew it would end on a more or less cliffhanger.

I got about four episodes into So You Thought There Never Was A Girl Online? It reminds me of D-Frag! quite a bit. It's hilarious in all the right ways. It's rare for me to say this but this anime is absolutely beautiful. The animation is crisp amd the characters are absolutely gorgeous in design.

Yeah original stay night is kinda bad though stay night unlimited blade works is somewhat better I think

now i been testing the waters with Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya and Fate/Apocrypha

My brother has Fate/Extella on PS4 so that will likely be my next venture into the series. Also interested in Grand Order though.

    Rin is my fave <3

So far I've watched Fate/Zero and about ten episodes of Fate/Stay Night. Fate/Zero was amazing and Stay Night was a piece of shit by comparison. I've heard later ones are better though. :P

This is definitely one of the funniest anime I've ever seen. I really wish we'd get a season 2 but shows like this rarely get them.

The last anime that I began watching was Death Note. I realize that this is an older anime and I am rather late with it but I never had any motivation to start watching it. It wasn't until I was inspired by a YouTube user along with my own curiosity to give it a go. I have not completed the series yet but I am nearly halfway through it. I have looked into spoilers and I am already aware of upcoming events and ending.

It's not really worth finishing. Or watching past the first few episodes. Or watching at all if you have any other anime to watch.

One of the most middling anime ever and its popularity confounds me.

  7. Who hasn't played at least one Megaman game? :P

Zero is my favorite series overall but Megaman X and ZX stand above them individually.

I wasn't a fan of the changes in ZX Advent. Couldn't bring myself to play it longer than a few hours on two separate playthroughs.

My favorite boss in the series is definitely against Iris' brother in X4.

It's the series itself that should've convinced me... and so far, it's had quite the show-don't-tell problem (especially since Riku and Terra still favor the Light anyway).

IMO, Master Xehanort's been the worst guy for the job (i.e., "I'MMA USE DARKNESS FOR WIDESPREAD DESTRUCTION AS PART OF MY NONSENSICAL PLAN TO FORCE YOU TO CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT IT!"); the closest we got was Xemnas back in KH2 (at least before DDD kicked in).

The series doesn't have to spell everything out for you. Inferences can be made.

We don't actually know what Xehanort is trying to do. He uses the power of darkness because he sees power in it but in DDD he was also using the light, if indirectly. By gathering the thirteen darknesses and the seven lights he's trying to get to Kingdom Hearts. Why? We don't know. What we do know is Kingdom Hearts is often described as a source of absolute light. If he's so bent on using darkness why would he go for such a thing? Mark my words. Kingdom Hearts itself is a part of  his plan and if he truly has evil intentions then he is using light for those purposes just as Riku uses the darkness.

On the note of Riku, you saw what the darkness did to him on multiple occasions. Of course he prefers the light. Terra, also, has had terrible experiences where darkness was involved. It says nothing of darkness but the circumstances they were in.

Yet the backstory had the Warriors Of Dark having to do the same against absolute Light.

KH's backstory = just more "LIGHT GOOD, DARK BAD!"

Kingdom Hearts has never been absolute about it. The closest thing we get to it is that Xehanort readily uses the power of darkness...but so does Riku and Terra. Proven time and again to be nothing more than a tool and it's weakness in their hearts that allows them to succumb to evil influences that just so happen to be in the dark.

The games do heavily favor light but they've made it clear that this is partly thanks to superstition and partly due to past events proving how volatile the power of darkness is.

We still don't even know Xehanort's true intentions so we can't say with any certainty that his connection with the darkness is specifically evil.

  10. None of these are broken games. For all intents and purposes a game being functional alone should exclude it from the ranks of "worst video games" but I understand that not everyone has played as many games as I have. Which is why I say they're lucky. If the worst they have to deal with is preferential differences then they've got it good.

I think that's one of it's biggest problems though. It is designed for syndication in half hour timeslots on commercial tv; that enforces a set episode length, and a lot of the stories lately suffered from that fixed length requirement (either seeming rushed, or being padded out to length)

Looking at Han̈azüki with its youtube delivery, I think MLP would benefit more from being on an online streaming provider without commercial breaks, where having variable length eps to suit the story would fit.

I do generally agree that the internet is a far superior method of absorbing media but the general public still considers most of the internet as little more than a plaything.

  12. Sort of. I'm on Imgur nearly every day I know the two sites use the same images. RANDOM MODE FOREVER.

Seriously. I've been using random mode for years and still haven't run into the same images more than  once or twice. IT NEVER ENDS.

My friends all know I have very unconventional political beliefs, and it hasn't caused many problems. In fact they are usually more concerned about my being a brony. :P But as long as you act like a confident, friendly person nobody should be overly concerned with your hobbies or beliefs.

I remember an evangelical friend asked me about this very thing. I basically said I don't care and we started talking about something else.

This is an important point many people don't seem to take into account. There are other things to talk about. You don't have to sum up your entire relationship with a person based on one topic. You can't be friends with abortionists but you can be friends with a brony, yeah? Talk about ponies and leave the other stuff for someone else.

Of course, I also think it's healthy to disagree with your friends too. Circlejerking is fun and all but you need the perspective of opposing opinions to get through life. You don't and can't live in a bubble.

  14. I wouldn't end a friendship under any circumstances. The closest thing I've come to ending a friendship  is that we just stopped talking but my door (PMs?) is always open even if it's been years since we talked. Once a friend, always a friend.

There is one or two exceptions where I have done so of course, under extreme circumstances, but that's my general rule.

    Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 / Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

I was pretty into Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 for awhile. I liked the way they turned it into a very cinematic experience.

I also played Clash of Ninja a lot back on the Gamecube.

  16. As a further extension of this, is it possible to get the plain text editor back? I hate having my posts auto-embed things before I even hit the post button.

It's especially a problem when going back to edit a post and it keeps all the quotes and videos in. Trying to edit between all of that stuff doesn't work very well. It just keeps clicking on said videos and whatnot.

You can also use Gamecube controllers and the Classic Controller, so thankfully the you don't have to use the Wii Mote either

Unless I'm remembering wrong the Gamecube adapter only works with Super Smash Bros, doesn't it?

Depends on what system you still play and can find on steam or download

I have all of the current consoles besides the Switch and all of the previous generation as well as far as downloadable games go.

    No PC though.

I've yet to play the KoF series. I'm told I should get XIII but I might just go for whatever the most recent one was.
