  1. I keep holding out on Breath of the wild until I get a Switch but that's a long way out and I have a Wii-U I could just as easily play it on so considering getting that version.

I guess I'll hold myself off by playing Ocarina of Time on 3DS and satisfy the Zelda vibe for now. At least I know I like that one. I tried playing Majora's Mask and didn't enjoy a second of it. I ended up quitting before getting to the second dungeon. Worst Zelda game of all time imo.

Ive actually have met three people from the MLP forums.... (though I already knew one from meeting him elsewhere... he the one that got me on MlP and on the forums... so I have met two? Lol

Hey you can't have the same story as me. People might think we're talking about each other or something.

    Spoiler alert: we totally are.

  3. Only one. There was talk a few years ago of a meetup in my area but I don't remember what happened to it. Either I didn't go or it never happened.

It's a bit hard for me to get around though since I don't drive. I'd be taking trains and buses wherever unless it was in my town. Not a fun prospect.

I should also mention that the one person I know from here I actually knew beforehand so maybe it doesn't count. :P

Keep in mind that not many animated series get as many episodes as MLP:FIM. Early next (the last?) season, (Season 9, episode 5) we reach the 200th episode.  All nine seasons should total 221 regular series episodes. That's not bad at all! That's over 81 hours of pony. Plus a full length theatrical movie,  the recent holiday special, and the Equestria Girls spin off movies/series. It's a huge body of work! Don't forget. The show was originally going to end with the 13 episode season three. Name another show, animated or live action, that was going to end, but got a six full seasons reprieve.

Spongebob Squarepants was supposed to end with the first movie after season 3 as well and is on its tenth season right now.

  5. As with alcohol, tobacco, and other such consumption pastimes it means nothing to me as long as you don't try to force me to do it out of some social obligation bullshit. I have had people try to make me sound like less of a human being for not taking part and I will not have any of that nonsense.

I will say that I greatly dislike the smell of it though and boy does it carry. My neighbors use it and I have to smell it on a regular basis, not to mention while I'm at work where people like to use our bathrooms for it.

  6. The same as I do with any show that's ended: get the entire series on DVD and watch them while I fall asleep, cycling from show to show based on what I'm feeling at any given time.

As far as fan content goes it will take a loooong time after the fact for that to stop since it was so popular. Not to mention it will probably keep airing reruns which would bring new fans regardless.

  7. Once again I got bored of FFXII Revanent Wings right before the end. Dunno what it is but it all of a sudden stops being interesting in the last few missions.

Switched to Scurge: Hive which I've also yet to beat but mostly because the final boss battle is ridiculous. Whether I beat it or not though I'm finally getting to Luigi's Mansion 2 afterward. I've been wanting it for years but was waiting for it to not be $40 still.

Bloodborne has some great bosses, but Gehrman has to be my favorite.

There were a lot of great fights in this game but definitely gotta go with Gehrman. Crotchety old man no more. My favorite ending is

the one where you take his place.

The final battle with Brevon in Freedom Planet. Took about 12 lives or so to beat him. Pattern recognition and avoiding his blade attack are key to defeating him. Something I noticed that actually helped me was if you jump and do the cyclone spin, to avoid his blade attack, he'll actually throw you to the other side doing zero damage to your health. This is great for avoiding his other attacks.

Dear god this fight was inteeeeense. The entire final level was but this fight alone took me like two hours to beat. I'm really glad it checkpoints between phases because holy shit no. Amazing fight though for sure.

  10. A lot of games don't really show the true potential of their gameplay unless you do at least some of the optional stuff. Other times if you just run through the story and do nothing else you can mislead people into trying a game they aren't prepared for. That isn't to say that it's necessarily fun to 100% every game but can you truly say you know a game without at least attempting it?

I will 100% games that I like a lot mainly, or ones where it won't take any major effort to do. Many I give up on part way through. I also don't really consider things like filling out every single item slot in an inventory as a necessary step.

On Playstation alone I have 28-ish Platinum Trophies including games like Darksiders, Ni No Kuni, and Alice: Madness Returns. Then are also some non-trophy games I've 100%'d like Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow as well as Star Ocean 1 and 2.

There are some games where I've gotten very close but eventually gave up on for one reason or another. Metroid Prime 2 left me with one missile expansion I could never find that stopped me from completing it. Then there's games like Silent Hill where the last thing I needed was those laser guns but beating hard mode with the top rank is ridiculous.

I should also mention that I see little issue with using guides to help get a completion. Particularly if there's a lot of things you can miss that would ruin a 100% playthrough. As someone who doesn't really like to play a game more than once I try to loom through walkthroughs at least a little to know if I need to keep an eye out for something. At the end of the day you still have to make the effort yourself and keeps the game fun.

  12. Most of my toys were thrown out each time we moved. Kept some, built on it, then got rid of them again. Eventually all of my toys were thrown out. There's only two I've had since, literally, the day I was born. I suppose I should maybe try to get them cleaned or fixed up or something someday. That's two stuffed animals I'll never get rid of.

Dear mother of god I've been looking for Popotan for over a decade. I've seen the characters and animations in random places but not once would anyone ever say what it was. Literally the first Youtube video I ever put on my faves list had a bunch of animations from the sisters in it but no one knew who they were or didn't say if they did. Thank you for being the light at the end of that particular tunnel. Now to find the bajillion other anime I've seen over the years. <__< >__>

    @Stitches

There probably was at some point but it doesn't hurt to revisit the topic for people who've seen more anime since the last one, not to mention new members.

    ---

As for me, I'm a bit particular about what openings I like. Unique sounds and great animations tend to go a long way. A lot of the "typical" anime music really doesn't interest me in the slightest a lot of the time. A list from me could still go on and on though so I'll keep it to three per post and wait for others to put theirs in. Without further ado:

First up is Drifters. With a showcase of all the characters and factions, not to mention a song that practically feels like an engine revving up, this one tends to really stand out as one of the best anime openings of all time.

Next is Darker Than Black's second opening. While the first one is also amazing this one in particular really shows the main character in his element, even if the scene where he's fighting clones of himself isn't actually part of the anime it shows a glimpse of what kind of trouble he gets into.

And for this one, I'm sorry I can't find a combination of this particular version of the song with the actual opening. Some anime are ridiculously hard to find video for the opening on Youtube. With this one it's just a slow, romantic song that was a calm break between episodes. I'm partial to the American version of the song. The singer's voice is beautiful and matches the aesthetic of the show much better, in my opinion.

Amazon Prime membership. I spent way too much money buying stuff because of the supposed "2 day" shipping. The stuff was neat, but I really didn't need a lot of it.

Canceled it about a year ago, and I hardly order anything from Amazon these days.

I order things enough from Amazon that it more than justifies the cost, personally. I buy enough in a couple months to save double the subscription fee in shipping rates. I don't even care about the two day shipping so much, though it is nice. I couldn't go without it.

  15. There used to be a station here called Funky Monkey that would play actually current metal rather than just stuff from twenty or thirty years ago like a lot of rock stations. It was my go-to station until it was shut down some years ago. One of my favorite things about it was that they would announce the song and band name after literally every song so I never had to guess.

Since then I've mostly become aquainted with Pandora which is the closest thing to radio I'll tolerate these days. I have a bunch of stations on there but the ones I main are my many metal stations (for specific genres such as power, melodic death, and thrash), a rock station that originally started as an alt rock station but is kind of a mix of alt and standard at this point, a pop music station I made specifically for songs that make you want to dance, and a comedy station that has a lot of stand-up and some music like Weird Al and Ninja Sex Party.

There are currently 21 seasons of the series. The show is now animated in Flash as opposed to being hand drawn as it used to be. I haven't watched the recent seasons but I have seen clips from them and it looks terrible. I'll be the first to admit that I still re-watch old episodes of the series every once in awhile.

Ha, seriously? I always thought it ended in the 90's and it's just getting popular again because of a random nostalgia wave.
