Bat pony ranks are now a thing!

I noticed this just a little bit ago. Is it an actual rank or just a thing for Halloween time?

Never been much of a fan of FPS'. I like them well enough but I haven't played nearly enough to have any real opinion on them. Timesplitters: Future Perfect is probably the top ranker on my minuscule list of FPS' I've played though.

I loved The Darkness 1 and 2 a lot though.

Oh me of the past, you are so silly to have forgotten Geist. Such a unique experience. That one definitely goes right up there.

  3. My brother has been trying to get me to watch School Rumble for years so I finally started watching it. I'm about half done with season 2 and it has been a crazy ride unlike any other. Not even Pani Poni Dash and all its visual jokes that required me to pause to see them all could quite match School Rumble. If only because School Rumble has something of a plot rather than shotgun humor everywhere.

  4. I've never quite understood the fear of clowns. I understand where it stems from, all the movies that portray them as demons, aliens or serial killers and such, but I've always seen clowns as the extravagant and quirky performers they were in the past. A master of silliness and acrobatic feats. To some just having clown-like makeup on activates that fear regardless of how the clown may be acting and that's always seemed a bit odd to me.

In all honesty, it feels more like the Naruto storm series to me. You have one button to attack and then the other two buttons are for your quirk abilities. The combo system isn't too bad and it's pretty creative, in my opinion. Some characters can spam, so it can be hit and miss. I've been playing some characters and it's a pretty fun game. :)

That was my other thought. I enjoyed Ninja Storm 2 but it likewise had the same problem of getting too repetitive eventually. Not quite as quickly as Raging Blast though.

I suppose I should actually catch up on My Hero Academia before I think about getting the game though. I've only seen the first season so far. I'm betting the game goes through at least season 2.

The game I'm currently playing is My Hero: One's Justice.

I've been thinking of maybe getting this one but it looks a lot like Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast which got really old way too fast. It was fun to play until it suddenly wasn't and then I couldn't stand to touch it even though I had barely touched any of the actual story. I had spent all my time on other modes that ended up being too grindy and repetitive.

  7. Random thread revival incoming. Hopefully this topic stays a bit more active this time around.

I still read webcomics every single day. Can't go a day without checking updates if nothing else but I'm always reading through the archives of one too.

I just recently got caught up with Gunnerkrigg Court and holy shit the last few chapters with Loup have been utter insanity. It's amazing. I always appreciate the comic's balance of unreal situations put in a way that makes it almost seem sensible.

I'm also just about to finish reading StarWarriors, a comic about a group that helps grant the wishes of all living things but so far focuses on one particular Warrior who has to come to terms with the fact that she has to help make her killer's wish come true. Beautiful premise though.

  8. My friend got me into Warhammer 40k a couple years ago so it's all I've been reading lately. Right now finishing up the first Caiphus Cain omnibus. For a comedy series it has some deep characters who you grow pretty attached to.

Next up I'll be reading Helsreach which also comes at high recommendation.

  9. I haven't worried much about what I'm wearing for a long time. I wear a uniform at work and a thick sweater when I leave the house. I used to enjoy flannel shirts though.

Also work boots. Can't stand short or light-feeling shoes.

But that's just for me. Don't have much of an opinion on other people's fashions.

I've been playing DOOM and Marvel's Spider-Man. Thinking about replaying Uncharted 4

Mostly waiting for the return of my boy~ <3

    Spyro1.jpg

While I've been enjoying Labyrinth of Refrain the last few weeks it ultimately is just holding me over until Spyro. I knew when I replayed the original trilogy back in March that they would announce this remake just to spite me but dammit if I won't do it all over again.

It'll take some getting used to Elora's new design but everything else looks super fantastic.

  11. I just finished up Stella Glow. I tend to suck at any sort of strategy games but sometimes I run across one like this that's just the right difficulty for me. All of the characters were a lot of fun. Every party member gets their own ending but I wasn't about to sit through the credits fourteen times to see them all so i just Youtubed the ones I hadn't seen. I was actually surprised at some of the endings. Not often the main character actually marries someone in games like this. Usually you get some variation of "in a relationship, maybe, but life goes on".

The music in the game is fantastic. It better be considering music has both story and gameplay relevance. Lots of j-pop variations of other genres from rock to polka but also regular video game adventure or battle music to fill in the blanks.

    Absolutely a quality experience.

  12. I've been waiting on a new Wild Arms for many years. The creators have kind of given a few wink wink nudge nudge statements that make it sound like it could be a thing and they are definitely aware of fans wanting it still. The last one came out in 2006 on PSP (not counting Wild Arms 1 being released on phones earlier this year.) Great game as it was I'd very much like a new entry.

I also would like to see some games come to new systems even in an emulated version if nothing else. Games like Fear Factor, Galerians, Legend of Legaia, etc.

I'd be okay with a Medievil 3 as well.

I can understand where you're coming from. I think I'm more fond of playing action in action games nowadays (but still nothing past The Legend of Zelda or Kingdom Hearts, really), but especially when I was younger I just wanted to run around and view the pretty world. Like in Ocarina of Time, I didn't really want to play the combat. I hated going through Hyrule Field at night because of those monsters that would pop up. D:

Anyway, it was during that time where I found games like Animal Crossing and The Sims. Games that didn't circle around action or skills (AC has a little bit or reflexes with the bugs and fish, but it's not like you have to partake in those activities), but instead characters/socialization and creativity/designing.

Like look at what I've designed in TS3 lately:

    qK1H2Jj.jpg

I don't have to do anything with it, I can literally just spend forever just staring at how beautiful it is (IMO). lol. There is no "price" for just looking around in The Sims 3. I love it.

But I'm not telling you that you should try these series either. I've been dealing with pushy gamers myself lately that can't seem to get the message that I neither have the interest (important) nor money to invest in more PC games. I'm sorry your roommate plays those survival horror games. Ew. So ew. If I had a roommate like that, she'd have to warn me she was playing that stuff if she was somewhere where I might walk by and end up seeing it.

This is also something people get caught up on. Not every game is about reflexes and action. There are thinking games, there are recreational games, games that just want you along for a predesigned roller coaster, games that are specifically designed to just let you make progress and the only objective is to take steps to make progress faster.

There is a video game for everyone. Hands down.

Actually the concept of Hell and Heaven would only make sense if you believe in the concept of Divine Justice or Divine Judgement against people who chose to be Wicked and Evil all their Life causing mayhem and chaos. Since I cater to the Shia-Islamic interpretation of these two concepts here's how I think.

The God of Abraham has designed us for seeking knowledge since we start out being ignorant about everything we do at Life, but He also gave us the Free Will to obey Him and seek knowledge or disobey Him just as much as his other creation Satan displayed when rebelling against His Authority on creating Prophet Adam (AS) and commanding His other creation deemed supernatural by many The Angels  to prostrate to Adam.

Life is Temporary for those who believe on The God of Abraham for a reason. To remind themselves that Life will never be like the utopia that is Heaven if Wickedness co-exists with Righteousness or Death co-exists to cause everything around us to live in a temporary state of existence. So live Life to serve and please the Lord to limit your chances of facing Divine Punishment for your mistakes and crimes against Him and this world He created along with the Universe.

What always bugged me about all the Divine Judgment thing is that we're given a finite time to show our worthiness of an infinite afterlife. Why doesn't the punishment last only as long as the time we're given to screw it up?

A human's lifespan is so insignificant compared to the eternity that presumably awaits us.

"Curse the god that gave us the power to affect the future but not the lifespan to see it for ourselves." Or something along those lines. We could have killed thousands in the future thanks to our actions but we could go through life thinking we did alright because the effects won't show for many years.

That's good advice. But I think it mostly boils down to the fact that some people have certain natural skills like painting or writing symphonies while others can just look at such things and scratch their heads cluelessly. I'd fit into the latter category. I've played countless games of all kinds but I'm just not a natural at them, even with practice. A lot of it comes from a lack of maturity on my part. I get frustrated and give up very quickly because they just rub me wrong.

My roomy doesn't really force me to play games with her, I just play along because she really likes it and I want her to be happy.

If I just distance myself properly, I can get through most games. It's just not my favorite thing to do. :pout:

I can definitely agree with that.

I'm a bit biased but I consider video games the ultimate form of entertainment, capable of anything another medium does and more, and skill level being the main hurdle against enjoyment makes for a sad day. There's much to experience beyond just an enemy coming at you in the screen but you can't see all that if you can't get past a certain point in the game. Whether it's the beauty of the world, the nuance in the gameplay mechanics, or even the way the story comes to a head there's so much to see.

I never enjoyed playing video games to begin with so there wasn't any one reason for me to leave them in the dust. They make me frustrated, angry and feeling empty because I'm not good at them and often feel I've wasted valuable time doing something that gives me no pleasure, especially when I could have used the time for something more productive.

Really though the more you play the better you get. Start with games that fit you and work your way to games that are less familiar. If you ever wondered how gamers can pick up games and seemingly play them flawlessly it's because we've played so many games that all applicable skills are brought over from all the different games we've played.

We all started out dying to everything a game threw at us. Some started as kids, some as adults, but the general idea is to find the games you do like and are good at and build your skill level until you're good enough for other games.

The more games you play, the better you know how to handle situations that come up. If your frustrations come from lack of skill then you can get rid of it by building when you can.

And of course don't let people force you to play games you aren't ready for.

usually it's either because a friend wanted to play with me or i just wanted to kill boredom and had nothing better to do

200 hours isn't much to spend on a game when i've owned it for over a year, i spent 200 hours playing fallout new vegas over the period of like a month

Meanwhile I beat New Vegas just short of 50 hours and will probably never play it again.

How dare you have different gaming habits than me. :P

Obligatory jk in case that last line is taken seriously.
