HUB Welcome to the Luna fanclub! EDIT: I would like to thank ~Scootaloo for making this signature for the fanclub. Luna is the co ruler of Equestria along with her sister Celestia, as the princess of the night she is responsible for raising the moon every night and also has jurisdiction over ponies dreams. After being banished to the moon for 1000 years for becoming Nightmare Moon and threatening to plunge Equestria into eternal night and being reformed thanks to the mane 6 and the elements of harmony Luna has had some trouble re adjusting to modern society as some ponies still fear and mistrust her. A few rules -No spamming post to become biggest fans -This is a children’s show, and believe it or not there are younger people who go on these forums, please limit content to suggestive only. For example you may post a picture of two ponies kissing, but they cannot be doing anything inappropriate, or showing things inappropriate. -Do not post a picture of Applejack in the Luna forum, because Applejack belongs in the Applejack forum unless of course Luna is also in the picture. -Do not hate on another fan club -All of MLP Forums rules still apply. -Fan art is encouraged but all images with the exception of the cover image in this first post must have the proper spoiler tags. Large amounts of unspoilered images on a single page can often cause lag and nobody likes to deal with lag. Here is some fanart to start things off

Dragonball for that reason I mentioned below, is a mediocre anime at this point. Goku makes friends with somebody who wiped out 6 universes, Zeno, and for that, Beerus was right to be upset at his ignorance, nobody was safe from him, not even allies. But that's the tip of the iceberg of the mess that story is and why I find Dragonball Super unwatchable. The broly movie is equally broken as well, even after that, the incompetent heroes in the story still let Frieza live after he attempted to use Broly to kill them. Heroes in Dragonball don't even take villainy seriously anymore which ruins both the drama and tension of the conflict.
-
Zeno from Dragonball for me is one of the worst characters in all of fiction. He can destroy universes just because he got angry about something, and everyone else in the story acts as if they are okay with this. Well, if you wanted death to have consequences, you got it Dragonball fans, but now you have a villain who is unbeatable and writers have wrecked their own story. Nothing Goku and Vegeta ever do matters in the grand scheme of things because Zeno can take it all away from them any time he likes. Such a stupid plot.
-
About your page, Dragonball GT isn't the best but it at least acknowledges some of Goku's character development though. In Super he refuses to put the Kibosh on Frieza for good even after he attempted to use Broly to kill him. Goku in DB Super is more of a buffoon than he was in any series before it IMO. He does not learn from his mistakes, and brazenly befriends a tyrant like Zeno with full knowledge that he wiped out 6 universes including their afterlife just because he could, and the fact that Zeno can do all that and be immune to scrutiny, renders all heroism in the show pointless, as any moment Zeno can take it away from them, he is a horrible character. I know all anime has flaws, but that is not one I can ignore easily. Sometimes stories are broken.
-
I don't know about every other Dragonball fan out there but I would not be grateful for being brought into the world by an oppressive deity if I found out they were just going to destroy it later, fiction does not change that feeling for me. Death does not give life meaning, knowledge does.

Name G4 characters without the letter "a"
Silly Druid replied to StarHeart333's topic in Forum Games
You can use the tag search function at Derpibooru to get a very long list of such characters. Not all of them are G4 though, so you need to check that yourself. Also, some of them are alternative names of the same characters, for example, "Bon Bon" and "Sweetie Drops". https://derpibooru.org/tags?tq=category%3Acharacter%2C+!*a* -
Twilight Sparkle used her powers for good however, mostly, that's one of the reasons why I like Friendship is Magic and prefer it to Dragonball. The fights can be interesting in shonen anime, sometimes, but DB is supposed to be about character growth, and that story is broken as the main characters rarely learn from their mistakes, which almost resulted in Other World being destroyed in DBZ. Twilight Sparkle is not some fight obsessed individual who spares villains lives for the sake of wanting a rematch with them, so I can respect that, and I would say this is one reason she earned her Alicorn power, she is humble about what she has accomplished, at least in the earlier seasons of the show.

Have you seen any animes in their entirety?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to stainesbrony's topic in Media Discussion
Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT, some of Super, but lost interest. A combination of factors drove me and one of my other friends away from the series, this was exacerbated by the growing incompetence of the main characters. Goku's supposed to be a seasoned warrior but cannot do something as simple as putting a tag on a jar? genocidal gods, while nobody considers that to be a problem, Goku makes friends with somebody who can obliterate his existence with a thought, Zeno, among many other things like resurrecting Frieza who continued to be a problem in Broly movie, that was the final straw for me, I don't find this entertaining. In some stories incompetence of the hero can be funny but it depends on the context, like in the western show Megas XLR, of course Coop is a fool that gets lucky, that was intentional direction of the plot, but with Goku in Dragonball, it isn't, it feels forced. Goku did foolish things in Dragonball GT but at least he had the sense to eliminate threats, some character growth and wisdom was shown and he was less tolerant of villainy which is why he threatened to kill Eis Shenron for using his granddaughter Pan as a shield, in Super he lacks awareness, simple as that. I watched Pokemon Indigo and Orange League anime in their entirety but that was a long time ago. I got Fist of the North Star on DVD, I will watch it when I am in the mood for it. -
You have more or less summed up my thoughts about some Dragonball villains They keep bringing Frieza back for the sake of a recurring bad guy to play with, when really he should just be dead and moved on from. The resurrection plot made no sense either, as normally Shenron wasn't supposed to bring back to life anyone who passed on over a year ago, or at least that was implied by the anime, furthermore in OG Dragonball and Dragonball Z, Bulma and her friends stored the corpses of their fallen allies inside what appears to be containers that reduce the body temperature of the bodies to preserve them. In any case, Frieza being cut to so many small pieces it should not have been possible to bring him back to life in such a state, all his internal organs were totalled and he had no regeneration abilities to reverse that, his army needed a machine to restore his body. I'm for giving individuals a chance to redeem in fiction, however there are limits to that. Kid Buu had the mind of a child even after living for millions of years, though it did not excuse his actions, even after killing innocent civilians in the mortal realm, he did threaten to annihilate souls in Other World, after their battle, I think Goku's request to have Buu reincarnated made sense, given his limited culpability or understanding of right and wrong, it made sense for him to skip Hell in Other World and try again to be a better person. Frieza is a different matter though, he doesn't have what a judiciary would call "clinical insanity" to get him off on any of his wrongdoing, knows exactly what he was doing, he is a pure sadist and should have remained in Hell, at least pay his debt for a thousand years or whatever, then reincarnate later. But Dragonball heroes are too incompetent to let that happen.

Things you don't get why they are popular?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Reecejackox's topic in General Discussion
I'm okay with certain types of anime, however the problem with some of them is not just the fillers, it is also how characters interact in the story, and it seems, particularly like with shonen such as Dragonball, they often do things which nullify their character development which I admit, makes me want to shout at my own screen sometimes. I think the screaming and muscles argument or criticisms about laser fights is a shallow one though, there are far worse things going on in the show that bother people even more, even to fans who watch them. I'm not annoyed because Goku has a Kamehameha beam struggle against Vegeta's Galic Gun in the first season of Dragonball Z Kai, Goku was in a tough spot and he had to do this to block the attack from blowing the planet up, to suggest Goku not engage in the laser fight to protect Earth in a precarious situation like that is ridiculous and shows how little knowledge people have about what goes on in the show. If they find laser fights boring, then don't watch it, simple, it's not that hard. I'd caution them against watching Star Wars though, if they find lasers boring. What grinds my gears is when Goku makes bad decisions later on which do put other characters at risk, such as that time when he tosses a Senzu Bean for Cell to eat, or when he gives Frieza some of his own energy while Planet Namek was about to explode and he had so little time left. And that is one of the many examples where heroes make reckless decisions, sure, Goku is not supposed to be the most clever character out there, he is not a scientist or anybody like that, he is a warrior, sometimes foolish choices can lead to comedy but not in a situation like that. Even in Dragonball Super, the inept heroes of the show let Frieza live even after he manipulated Broly into attacking Goku and Vegeta to try to kill them. There's no growth, no wisdom in the two characters, that is bad writing. -
In summary, Twilight Sparkle in MLP FIM at least knows how to handle a hostage situation, as shown in Twilight's Kingdom episode. In Dragonball, Goku does not. That is one failing that I cannot overlook about that fictional character because it matters in a situation where characters are at war. Goku and his friends in both Cell and Buu saga were saved by plot armour, nothing else. Goku was less foolish in OG Dragonball, where he would try to reason with King Piccolo instead of pursuing a situation which could have resulted in Tien being killed. In DBZ, Cell keeps the Z squad hostage, and Goku's plan was to give Cell a senzu bean, which had a high probability of going badly wrong. Trusting Goku in Dragonball to deal with a terrorist is like trusting Hotrod in the Transformers 1986 movie to deal with Megatron who got Optimus Prime killed, and while it may pay off sometimes in the end, it only ever does so by luck and plot armour. Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic episode Twilight's Kingdom chooses not to risk having her friends killed when the opportunity to avoid that outcome presents itself, as shown in her deal with Tirek, her magic in exchange for the safety of her friends, which then made it possible to defeat Tirek with their new power up. If her friends died, Tirek would have won.

Dawnshine Wonder replied to Reecejackox's topic in General Discussion
Sure, OG Dragonball was better though because that show did more than show people fighting, it showed not only Goku on his quest to collect the Dragonballs and we got to see him develop his skills in his childhood. Putting the absurdity of a child entering World Martial Arts tournaments aside, he used his Power Pole to get himself out of situations that he could not handle without it, such as reaching Kami's Lookout. This was before he learned how to fly I think, he did not really display that ability until the final Tournament with Piccolo. He could launch himself into the sky using his Kamehameha, but only for a short time and that showed how skilful he became with his powers, he learned to improvise and find a way around his limitations with strategy, and arguably was much less of a fool than he typically is portrayed in Dragonball Super, and he nearly blows himself up with Kaioken just to fight Hit in some petty tournament where there were no stakes involved besides knock each other out. Goku was willing to kill a villain if it meant saving the planet as well, such as when he killed Tambourine for killing Krillin. He did not leave it to chance just because he enjoyed fighting, he was more of a no nonsense fighter back then. He let Piccolo Jr live, but mainly to keep Kami alive and the dragonballs, by that time he was confident of his own power that he could keep Piccolo in check, at least until Raditz arrived. I like an adventure story that has mystic elements, however having the characters use strategy with their powers is equally important in my opinion. -
I like discussing My Little Pony what ifs with Snoopy Fan, I even told him I love fantasy stories that involve magic, he likes the same, it is why I am not only a fan of Hasbro fiction like My Little Pony and Power Rangers, I am also such a big fan of DIsney movies like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Though admittedly a lot of other fictional worlds would suck to exist in, magic or no magic. DC comic universes and Dragonball universes being those, because they have gods that can erase a universe anytime without consequence or accountability. You want a Monarch to complain about? try Omni King, he is by far the worst character in the story, regardless of what Frieza has done, at least there are individuals who can stop him.

general What were you doing just 10 minutes ago?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Lisa's topic in General Discussion
I was thinking about a thought provoking discussion I had with somebody else earlier about the what ifs of living in Equestria. I agree not everybody would like to be in that fictional world, some people may even think the idea of going there is irrational even in a fantasy world scenario it could happen, but whether people like it or not, there are forum threads about this. I assume the same has happened about several other fictional worlds as well, yes I would not be surprised to see this being common, but who cares, what matters is what is being discussed and why. There are some fictional worlds I would absolutely hate to be in though, Dragonball verse being one of them. Sure having the ability to use and sense Ki would be cool, but the issue is oppressive gods and incompetent heroes who do nothing about them. Android 17 had the ideal opportunity to deal with Grand Zeno with Super Shenron, and he decided to resurrect a multiverse instead, forgetting that could have been done later on. Why didn't he just order Super Shenron to erase Grand Zeno and his Priest who serves him? that would have dealt with a problem that has plagued so many innocent souls there and then. Later on, Goku and Vegeta let Frieza live despite the fact Frieza tried to use Broly to get revenge. That was the last straw for me, and I am so done with Dragonball because of this. DC Universe is not much better either, as they too have horrible gods that due to their incompetence, universes get erased willy nilly and then Spectre has the gall to blame Constantine for this, like in the Infinite Crisis storyline. Compared to those universes, walking into Equestria for me would be like walking into the Kingdom of Heaven. I would not have to worry about Celestia or Luna attempting to murder me or other citizens just because we did not do what they asked or tell us to do, pretty sure they don't use torture either. -
Eh I am not too keen on Dragonball lately, the ineptitude of the characters and letting Frieza stay alive despite he will never reform and will continue to be a problem for everybody else shows just how bad Goku and Vegeta are at their job in the story. Why don't they (Toei) just write in new villains? at least when they made Dragonball GT they got creative with villain designs. I cannot stand Zeno either, he is annoying. I'm more into Transformers and My Little Pony FIM. Even with Transformers Cybertron, a universe would only be potentially be wiped out as a result of a spatial distortion caused by the Unicron Singularity. Optimus Prime could not have seen that coming after defeating Unicron on their last encounter, it's a different situation than some god getting angry and then erasing universes because they could not control their temper. when it is not action and adventure based animations, I watch slapstick like Ed Edd n Eddy and Looney Tunes, and while ineptitude of the characters is a recurring theme in shows like that, that is intended and it adds to the comedy, it works here.

Here's another dangerous death battle situation if a crossover happened between two fictional characters, Queen Chrysalis from My Little Pony vs Shadow the Hedgehog from Sonic the Hedgehog, Chrysalis had prep time, managed to master chaos control with the chaos emeralds after learning about them, and gained Sonic's super speed because she ambushed him and siphoned his energy away, it is stated in the wiki that Chrysalis in the comic version of MLP can steal others magic when using her love draining abilities, this would imply physical attributes as well, I mean, Sonic's powers aren't exactly rooted in science. To use an analogy here, in Dragonball fiction, it was shown that characters had to use Ki to enhance their physical abilities, because biology alone was never enough to secure a victory for either side of a battle. Ki is sort of like magic, but it is not spell casting or divine intervention, in eastern mythology it is the energy of the life force in living beings. Ki is not rooted in science either and has never been proven to exist in reality, but you get my point here. I do believe Chrysalis love draining abilities in My Little Pony to be a censored type of life force drain, as when she uses it she does weaken another character.

Trilby could barely bring himself to look at @Discord. He was too embarrassed after making a fool of himself. Besides, he didn't hear any laughter, so that pretty much told him all he needed to know. That is, until he heard someone else... "...Sure. Tag in." Trilby tags Saturn. "Tag, you're it." Trilby scoots away from the stage, moving only his hind legs. He surrenders the floor to Saturn to let her have a chance at making Discord laugh.

mega thread How are you feeling?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Rift enchanted's topic in General Discussion
About my feelings for the time being? I wrote this on my profile "I don't know about every other Dragonball fan out there but I would not be grateful for being brought into the world by an oppressive deity if I found out they were just going to destroy it later, fiction does not change that feeling for me. Death does not give life meaning, knowledge does." Food for thought before people act as if Hakai is the only solution to fix the infinite revives problem with dragonballs in the Dragonball series/fiction. Reincarnation is another and even better plot in my honest opinion, because then people don't allude to a common philosophical fallacy on the meaning of life. -
I'm not denying that fiction is meant to entertain, the point of the thread is that it is a good thing giants from BFG don't exist, because if they did we'd all be in serious trouble. On screen they are entertaining, and that is what keeps people watching, we would not enjoy this half as much if it was all slice of life where characters just discuss their relationships like a Soap Opera all the time. People are more entertained by anime such as Pokemon, Dragonball and One Piece. I don't believe I could ever get into One Piece although I know some people like it, a story about pirates, but it goes on for about 1,000 episodes I think. Dragonball, yes, it is entertaining to watch their battles sometimes, however character growth and plot inconsistencies are a problem which is why I am not drawn to that anime as much nowadays. I've seen far more incompetence from Goku and Vegeta in DBZ/Super than any of the main characters in My Little Pony. Twilight Sparkle would not let enemies reach full power just because she wants a challenge, she would do her best to avoid that outcome if at all possible. The only reason she gambled her magic in a trade for her friends with Tirek in Twilight's Kingdom in season 4 finale, is because it was her opportunity to outsmart him, she could have carried on the fight, but victory was not guaranteed, by that time, their battle had already taken out most of Ponyville, lots of property destruction, she did not want all of Equestria being brought down just to prove how mighty she was, she wanted the fight to end without further destruction. With DBZ characters it's different, Vegeta in DBZ up until end of Buu arc, did not really care about the destruction his battles caused as long as he showed his alpha male superiority, he was a terrible person, who should have learned from his mistakes in Buu arc, but didn't, remember that mistake he made in Cell saga where he let Cell get his Perfect form? does the same thing again with Buu, negating his character development, which left a lot of Vegeta fans upset, yes he did sacrifice himself to attempt to destroy Buu, but that outcome could have been avoided if the man with a big ego had listened to Supreme Kai who tried to mediate the situation, then Goku threatens him to give into Vegeta's demands, which was stupid. Even though MLP FIM world has its problems, I think I would rather exist in that fictional world as a Pegasi than our one. Queen Chrysalis in MLP fiction is dangerous, but even if humans didn't start a nuclear war, economic inflation and environmental damage are two things that are actively making people's lives miserable. Environmental damage does because it leads to situations like untreated sewage being dumped on shorelines and in rivers, which can and does make people sick. All well and good suggesting people should not swim in it, however when it is hot during a summer season, excessive heat can and does kill, and going for a swim does help bring your body temperature down, some people did take that chance, and sometimes they get away with it, sometimes not, then again, nobody lives forever, you or I could end up dead from a stroke tomorrow, so we got to appreciate life while we still have it.

Which Alicorn Princess Do You Serve?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Night Sky's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I think people forget that it's possible to serve a Ruler without agreeing with every decision they make, Princess Celestia would not necessarily punish somebody for not following orders unless it was a matter of security of her kingdom or if it's something that hurt other Ponies in Equestria, as she was about to punish Twilight Sparkle for the Want it, Need it spell, before vetoing her decision after her friends pleaded for forgiveness. No leaders are perfect. I think I would much rather serve Princess Celestia in the fantasy world of Equestria, than politicians in real life who seem to be bent on causing war all the time, I made that point thoroughly in Twilight Soapbox thread. Some people dislike Celestia for her decisions in the show, but compare her to politicians IRL, who perpetuate wars in the Middle East, murder people, destroy their property and rob them of their resources. I don't hate Princess Celestia at all, I've even got a few friends who don't hate her either. Why? simple, she is not a warmonger for one thing, and she would not send you to be executed just because you made an error of judgment, and although Zephyr Breeze is a selfish jerk, he was fired, not killed for leaving Canterlot castle unguarded. Sorry but for all the criticism she gets, I've seen far worse Monarchs in fiction. Some of the criticisms she gets are dumb if you ask me, yes she may not have the most robust military in fiction, however at least she does not promote aggression, escalating conflict and making other nations distrusting of Equestrians. Real life politicians invade other sovereign countries to deprive them of their resources, sabre rattle superpower nations, making World War 3 more likely with large stockpile of nukes, is that the kind of wilful ignorance to aspire to? certainly not. It's not that I don't find other Alicorn Princesses likeable, I like Princess Luna, however with her 1,000 years banishment in the moon, she would have far less experience as a ruler than Princess Celestia would do. If I get that far in my fan fiction, my OC, my imaginary self, would serve Princess Celestia. Perhaps some of the worst Monarchs in fiction would appear in anime, like Dragonball. Prince Vegeta keeps making bad choices that put heroes in the story at risk, like letting enemies reach their full power just so he can have a challenge. If he wanted to get more powerful he could do it through training, like Goku did, but he chose the stupid option instead, which is why I think, he represents a horrible Monarch in fiction. Saiyajins only ever survive their worst blunders in Dragonball through plot armour and luck. I cannot understand why that series is so popular anymore, not when its so called heroes repeatedly do selfish things that put others at risk.- 33 replies

N/p @Dreambiscuit I've even had some of more male friends kinda blink a few times when I list the themes of the manga outload. I got one younger friend Brirdie always asking me about animes he should try out or we talk about a lot of the deep themes going on in anime/manga. I mean Sailor Moon does stand as a piller of anime today and how it helped anime even take a stride in the West in the first place. Much as Dragonball and Pokemon did when anime started to first come out in the main stream. Fav Scout: Sailor Moon is my 3ed, but I have a slight bug when it comes to the 90's anime. Not dont get me wrong, I love my 90's anime and go back and rewatch it, just yes Moonie in the 90's anime was always kinda put as the dumb "blond" to even lazy card a bit to much till Sailor Moon Stars came along. In the manga, she does mature and grow and is not a cry baby and shows true growth as a leader. Yet the core values she does carry in both the anime 90's and manga: selfless love, accepting all ppl, bravery in the standing up for her friend's and vaulies, reaching out to those often passed over by others, finding value in others most don't see, self sacrifice for love and fully knowing she might not make it to save her friends and world, being just being kind without asking anything in return.

I checked the top 500 character tags at Derpibooru, and here is what I found. The "blonde" status of some of these characters is borderline/doubtful, but I put them here for your consideration: * Sunset Shimmer (yellow and red hair) * Granny Smith (when she was younger) * Lightning Dust (yellow/orange mane) * Daybreaker (flaming yellow mane) * Surprise (she's one of the Wonderbolts, search for "surprise (g4)" at Derpibooru) * Ms. Harshwhinny * Cherry Berry * Cloud Kicker * Songbird Serenade (yellow/black mane) * Sassaflash * Little Strongheart (maybe) * Noi * Cloudy Kicks * Sweet Biscuit * Mjölna * Zippoorwhill (dark blonde) * Apple Cobbler * Lyrica Lilac * Grace Manewitz * Eclair Crème * Helia * Mane Allgood (Scootaloo's mom) * Summer Breeze * Sunshine Smiles
