As the group in the banquet hall were talking, a unicorn dressed in the Royal Guard uniform trotted into the hall, approaching Clover. "Miss Clover, it is almost time for your coronation," he announced. "If you and your friends would like to make their way to the ceremonial room, we will soon be ready to begin."

 

DJ leaned over to Vinyl and quietly whispered. "I hope the others are coming soon. If it's starting soon they might miss it!"

 

Vinyl giggled and whispered back. "Stop being so silly, DJ! They'll be here! You worry too much!" DJ smiled at his marefriend as they both watched the guard leave the hall.

Steel flew to the Castle Hall for his friend Clover's Coronation as a princess. He wore an exquistie garb prepared for him by the renowned Maddie Munchkin. (Shameless plug-in.    )

He awaited the event patiently amongst the herd of ponies and scanned for anypony he knew.

Sterling looked back at Evening when the couple entered the cab. Sterling told the driver to head towards Canterlot Castle for Clover's Coronation and the driver began driving there post haste. Sterling then gave Evening a side hug before he replied with as much comfort as he could give,

 

"Ohh... I see... Well one thing's for sure is that if you do get to see them, that you can show off all your best friends, including me! You have great company too in Canterlot right now, and I'm sure they'll be positively surprised at all you've done."

 

Evening nodded and smiled with a giggle. She nuzzled into Sterling's arm. She gave a small sigh

 

"You're right" she said. "And it will be such an honor to show you all off!"

 

She spent most of the cab ride staring out the window, with both excitement and worry. What she saw was the place she used to know so well, but the place she loved? No. Her memories of this place before she went on the cruise of a lifetime were everything and anything between bad and dreadful. Her sister being away a lot, her parents dragging her to useless fancy parties all the time, being too afraid to step a mere hoof outside..

 

The pony she was was far different than the pony she is now. She's still the same Evening Glory, but she's a much happier one. All because of a special crashing cruise and a group of wonderful ponies. She had made wonderful friends, got married, even had a special encounter with.. um.. Cryptic! Yeah, Cryptic. 

 

Soon enough, the cab stopped. They were at their destination. The couple got out the cab with their luggage, paid the stallion and waved him goodbye with a smile and 'thank you'. Evening took a few steps forward then stopped.

 

"Oh dear.." she mumbled quietly to herself, looking the castle up and down. She turned to Sterling "Where are we off to now?"

The cab had finally arrived at Canterlot Castle. Sterling looked up towards the top of the castle, in awe of its great height and majestic appearance. It was for the Princess of the Sun and Moon after all. Sterling then motioned to Evening to follow him towards the main reception hall where the Coronation would be held.

 

"C'mon Evie! Hold my hoof if you want!" Sterling encouraged Evening to come along, while being able to see the marvels of the jewels and the hallowed halls that comprised the castle. It was an exciting feeling to be able to see the Princesses in person. It was hard for him to contain it as he continued to walk around the castle, following the long, pristine red rug that led all the way to the Coronation room. 

 

"The castle is looking very beautiful isn't it?! And we get to see all our friends! This is going to be the best day ever!" Sterling spoke excitedly as he began to prance instead of observing the typical classy trot that he was supposed to have...

Blue Note noticed that the room was really filling up. Whispers around her told her that they should be ready to start soon. An odd combination of nervousness and excitement overwhelmed her. She was no stranger to nerves, but it had been awhile since a performance felt this important. Then again, coronations were about the most important events in Equestria. She had to stop herself from nervously tapping her hoof. Thinking about it was stressful.

Clover excused herself to her friends, cuz she had to go and put her dress on. She hadn't wanted it to get spoiled during breakfast. Clover rushed to her room and quickly changed into her beautiful dress, with the silver slippers to go with it, and went to meet Princess Celestia as planned for the Coronation. Now that the event had started, she was starting to feel very shy. Looking over the crowd, Clover could recognise several of her friends. Standing on clouds above the castle were the Wonderbolts; Clover saw that one had a short indigo tail and was relieved that Lightning had made it. Obviously, the Wonderbolts were to do a display afterwards. Ruby was also there, with Mitta, in the crowd next to Galaxy and Brightly, Clover's parents. Her mother was wearing a fantastic hat and leaning against her father who wore a tie but had obviously refused to get any more dressed up, which made Clover smile.

North had gone ahead to the hall where the coronation were to take place right after grabbing a piece of something he could eat on the way.

He had found a decent spot where both he and his sister could see everything well.

 

Moments later, his sister came right to where he were, and sat down next to him, some bread poking out of her mouth, and an apple or two tucked underneath her wings.

North gave her a weird look, though ceased this the moment she offered him one of her apples, which he happily accepted.

@, "I'm Stargazer," replied the yellow pegasus mare, chirpily.

 

"And my name's Morning Glory," replied the periwinkle unicorn. "We're old friends of Clover's from Trottingham. We all got together when we were only young fillies, along with Lightning, and we broke the curse on Sunny Town and rescued Ruby."

 

"Old news," Clover replied, blushing a little.

Right about then, a Royal Guard approached the new Princess, inviting her friends to a grand hall for the celebration. Right now, Red found his mind wandering, thinking about his other friends. Surely they were here, but at the same time he felt bad that he didn't approach and converse with them. Perhaps they would be in the ceremonial room, he thought.

Seeing it was almost time for the coronation to begin, DJ and Vinyl trotted off to find their seats on the big ceremonial hall. Lots of other ponies had already arrived and had taken their seats. "I wonder if the others will have seats next to us?" DJ thought to himself. Sitting down at his reserved seat next to Vinyl, he noticed most of the adjacent seats were empty. He smiled, knowing that he was probably going to be meeting his friends again very soon.

Princess Celestia found Clover soon after she had finished with her Royal dress wear. "Hello Clover," she said with a smile. "How are you feeling? I know it is a big day for you today, but I know that you will do splendidly, and are bound to become a wonderful Princess!"

 

A red unicorn in Royal Guard uniform appeared behind her. "Your Majesty," he said with a bow. "We are ready to begin when yourself and Princess Clover are prepared. The procession is in place and the last guests are just arriving."

 

Celestia smiled at him and nodded. "Thank you, Burning Dawn. We will be along shortly." Acknowledging the dismissal, he bowed and trotted out of the room.

@, Clover smiled at Princess Celestia. "I'm just so nervous!" she said. "Now that the day has finally come. But all my friends will be here, and that will make it easier. I can see most of them in the crowd already. As long as I remember everything I'm meant to do, it'll go well with my friends here."

Steel found his seat and took his place, he was very excited to see his friend on her most important day. He removed his hat out of respect for the occasion, gentlecolt that he was. Not that he was alone in the department. Maligned as much Canterlot ponies were, one could not fault most of them for their sense of decorum and at least the appearance of honor that Steel tried to uphold sincerely.

"You have nothing to worry about Clover," Celestia said comfortingly. "I know that you will make a wonderful Princess!" She nodded while she thought. "You and your friends have certainly proven their worth, and you especially. You have not only excelled in your studies, but have made use of it in most dire situations, triumphing in the face of evil on several occasions. I am so proud to have had you as a student Clover!"

 

Seeing another of the Royal Guard waiting outside, he gestured with her wing in his direction. "It is almost time now Clover. One of the Guard will show you to your place with your procession. I have to take my place in the ceremonial hall alongside my sister and the other Princesses." Resting a wing on Clover reassuringly she smiled. "Good luck Clover! I know you will do many more great things as a Princess!" She then trotted out of the room towards the place if the coronation. "What a fine student she has been... Celestia reminisced happily on the way to the hall.

Sterling finally made his way to the entrance of the Coronation Hall. He beckoned Evening to continue walking with him... Now to see if he could find all his friends... Where were they? Did they make the Coronation on time? The hall was already filling with ponies from everywhere, and everypony looked dressed up for the event! 

 

"Evie, let's look for our friends ok? Surely they must be around here somewhere..." Sterling spoke to Evening with a little sense of urgency since the Coronation was set to begin any moment...

@, "Thank you, Princess Celestia! I will do my very best," Clover replied to her teacher before trotting away with the member of the Royal Guard to where she was meant to go. She took her courage in both hooves and resolved to carry her head high during the Coronation and enjoy it.

DJ and Vinyl were sitting ready for the coronation to start when DJ noticed Sterling and Evening standing up looking for seats. He waved, drawing the unhappy attention of some of the "posher" ponies present, but he didn't care. "Guys! Sterling! Evening! Over here!" it was just in time too, because the ceremony was about to begin. He noticed the Princesses Twilight, Luna and Cadence walk up to the front of the hall, and he quickly sat down and looked forward, hoping his two friends had seen him.

Princess Celestia had arrived at the hall. As she entered, it began to get quiet as the ponies all turned to watch in silence. She didn't enjoy silences, but she knew that at events like this, everypony hung on her and the other Princesses' every word. She trotted slowly up the hall in her regal dress and crown, smiling and nodding to ponies as she passed. When she reached the front of the hall, she stood beside her sister and fellow Princesses. Before she was to begin, they exchanged a small conversation to check they all knew what was going to happen and make sure they were all ready, before Celestia turned to face the crowd...

As the atmosphere turned serious, Steel smiled in preparation for the event. He looked to the set a few down from him before double taking. He was looking at a ghost. There sat his captain, relaxing much like Steel was and not like he had been blown to smithereens aboard their old ship.

 

Steel decided to shovel this away for the time being and focused on Clover's big day.

Sterling was still looking around for seats when he heard a voice call out to him to sit by the pony just before the ceremony began. He motioned for Evening to move to the seats before the Princesses came, hoping that he didn't intrude any negative attention by being in such a hurry...

 

When Sterling had made it to the source of the voice, he couldn't believe his eyes... As soon as he saw him, he could feel a tear well up in his eyes, one that couldn't be contained even as the ceremony was about to begin...

 

"DJ... you're alive..." Sterling whispered before beginning to sniffle...

DJ found himself welling up a little too. He tried to hold back on account of the event, but he was just so happy to see his friend again. "I am Sterling..." he whispered. "I'm sorry I didn't tell anypony sooner, it's just that... well, it's a long story, and I promise I'll tell everypony later. I don't want us all to miss Clover's coronation!" He smiled, glad to see his friend again, but feeling pretty guilty he hadn't been able to tell his friends he was still alive until now...

Clover tensed herself as she waited for her cue. The swell of chatter from the seated ponies died away as Princess Celestia took the stage, which meant that the Coronation was about to begin. Clover quickly checked herself over, making sure that her dress and shoes were ok, that her mane was neat and that her fur was clean, then she waited expectantly for Princess Celestia to begin.

Evening looked at DJ with wide eyes. The pony she saw die, explode along with their ship, was here? Living and breathing, and watching Clovers coronation? Sitting next to them? She was shocked, gobsmacked if you will.

 

She wasn't doing to say much since the coronation was starting soon, but she did whisper a small "DJ..?" with a confused expression. Though she smiled and nodded happily when he said for the explanation to wait, for the ceremony was about to start!

 

She turned her head the ways everypony else's was - up towards the stage, where the princess of the sun stood..

Sterling sat, waiting excitedly for the Princess to begin speaking... it was already shaping to be a magical day even without DJ's presence, but him being alive... him of all ponies... thought to have been dead after the ship explosion... How did he survive the ordeal?! Sterling's mind kept wandering to all the questions he wanted to ask and all the activities he wanted to do with DJ. He didn't even notice the fact that Clover was all dressed up like a true princess for the occasion, or that Evening was also really surprised that DJ was alive! 

 

In any case, Sterling tried his best to sit down and watch the Ceremony unfold... hopefully there wouldn't be any more twists than the wonderful one he already experienced...

"Welcome citizens of Equestria and friends from afar!" Celestia announced. "Today, we are here to celebrate a most joyous occasion in the history of Equestria! My faithful student, Clover, has gone through many trials and troubles and overcome them all. She has done many great things that few would be able to accomplish. She and her friends defeated the evil Raven and stopped his plans of industrialising our fair land, and has also captured a dangerous dark mage who was bent on causing havoc in Northern Equestria! Her skill in magic using and her actions in times of great threat to our land has proven without a doubt that she is ready to become a Princess of Equestria! Fillies and gentlecolts, may I now present to you, Equestria's new Princess, Princess Clover!"

 

Gesturing with her hoof to the back of the hall, two of the Royal Guard opened the back door, revealing Clover in her regal attire, with a group of four mares carrying banners, each one featuring a pair of crossed wands to represent Clover's cutie mark, and four Royal guard behind. It was time for the Princess to make her approach to the front of the hall...

@, Hoping she wouldn't trip, Clover walked out behind the mares carrying the banners, a smile of purest happiness on her face. She couldn't help it; this was one of the best moments of her life. She saw her friends standing in the crowd, her parents nearby with her father holding her mother, who was sobbing unashamedly into her hankerchief.

Blue Note listened intently to Princess Celestia's introduction. There was an accomplished pony. She briefly wondered what it would be like to go an adventure like Princess Clover and her friends had, but pushed the thought away. She could never do that. Besides, the conductor was about to count off. Blue Note took a deep breathe and played the regal entrance music with the rest of the orchestra.

North and his sister was sitting there and watching what was going on from ground level.

 

"Vent... Kan enhjørninger også fly nå?" his sister spoke.

("Wait... Can unicorns too fly now?")

"Trodde bare det var Luna, men her er det jo i hvertfall fem av dem... Jeg er forvirret." North replied, looking a little confused, though he kept quiet as soon as he spotted Luna in the bunch.

("Thought only it was Luna, though here be at least five of them... I am confused.")
