Ali nods, "I really hope it isn't a fight... I don't want anyone to get too hurt..." On the horizon are several shapes of varying sizes. Ali recognizes them with a bit of dread, "T-those are hunter-killers... They're here to hurt you for saving me..."

Asator stroked Ali's side once more and stepped away.
"Hurt me?" He asks as he unbuckles his hammer and holds it in his hands. "Let them try to!"
Asator began to chuckle as the thought of knocking some heads in excited him. He twirled his hammer around and stretched his neck.
"Ali, if they truly are here to fight, I'm going to need you to do something for me. While they are busy fighting me, I want you to escape; lay low until I come to get you."

Lily smiles, "I've never heard of it before, but this fire whiskey stuff sounds good... May I have some?" She asks hopefully before thinking over the rest of Draco's statement, "A poem sounds nice, and I love riddles, so I'm up for whatever..."

Ali shakes her head, "I am with you till the end. You should not have to fight on your own, and you'll see that I can take care of myself..."

The small group of objects, now obviously 5 distinct dragon shapes, approach swiftly.

The silence that soon followed was as unceasing as the crystalline-encased dragon. Trickle of tension soon built up as one soldier finally broke. His cries were heard as a simple shout. A trigger was pressed as the man's professionalism broke. The piercing bolt exploding into a loud crack; smoke filled the small area around the ballista. It was an instant before Glacies bellowed in utter rage and pain.

Others followed on with that. They fired, the crossbolts to powerful bows unleashed their payload. It hurt the beast, yet wasn't enough. The beast flayed alive the soldiers caught in the range of its tail, freezing black the wounds and hearts. Another stroke from Glacies, its claws completely penetrating the refined steel armors of the ordinary soldiers. The best summarization was the soldiers being slaughtered. There were retaliations of course, but it wasn't enough.

Architect Arthur watched before motioning for the Praetorian Guards to follow. His steps were light and fast as he grabbed for the nearest functioning crossbolt. Loading it with a bolt he looted from a nearby dead soldier, he tied a black orb to the bolt. Estimating the flight path with the now disturbed aerodynamics of the bolt, he fired after lifting it. The result was a large burst of flames and a large explosive reaction of the materials used to make the black orb.

The result was the anger of Glacies as he treated the large wound with a layer of frost before slamming down a large moving frost wall. Proving deadly with even an inch of distance between a warm-bodied soldier and the wall itself.

Even though Architect Arthur was alarmed by the formation of the moving wall, he felt something amiss. Why was Glacies not using his fullest power? With the estimation of at least a thousand men dead, their corpses the color of abyss, it was too little. In his mind, Arthur predicted at least two-thousand and five-hundred by now. Placing himself a considerable distance from the dragon, he watched as a poor unfortunate soul was bisected by a large ice shard. Exactly why?

Cassandra stops in fear, "W-why are we fighting this thing? Why did we ever agree to do this?" She focuses on healing anyone nearby. It had been documented that in extreme situations adrenaline could act as an amplifier for Faith, and this was the only reason that Cassandra could keep most of the people around her alive. She turns to the Architect, "What the fuck are we supposed to do? How are we supposed to stop this thing?"

"The best course of direction into retreat, as our current current force is very, very ill-equipped for such beasts." Arthur paused before turning to Cassandra, "how well are you versed in Faith? In the lines of believing that something can be more powerful than it is." He had a plan. A plan that is both ingenious and having a low chance of success. The use of one of his poison vials and hopefully with Faith to puncture the neck and pump in the sedative payload.

The Praetorian Guards along with Lady Florence rushed toward the beast. Their armor protecting them from the coldness that Glacies was emitting from his body. Despite that, they can feel the chilling air around their body as they slammed their spears and sword into the thick hide. Success only angered Glacies as crystallized moisture from the air formed and descended upon the three.

Like a thousand needles homing in and breaking into death-inducing shards of pure ice. The trio team received minor cuts and were relatively unharmed from the attack. Though their skills in blocking to dodging were soon put to the test as Glacies assaulted the three. It was clear that even with the three powerful icons of Praeses, the battle hadn't even change to the side of the remaining forces.

Draco pulled out a fire whiskey bottle. "Here you go," Draco said as he smiled slightly at the lass. "Alright here's another :Voiceless it cries,

Lily takes the bottle and swirls it idly while she thinks over the riddle, "It's the wind. Anyway, vashee zda-ró-vye!" She takes a quick chug of the bottle, then holds her head, "Wow... That's intense... Smooth, but intense..." After a few seconds she feels an incredible burning deep in her body, "Wow... I feel like I could take on the world with this!" She experimentally breathes out again, and watches to her surprise as the augmented flame totally evaporates a swathe of rock in front of her, "Oh my god, that was incredible!" She says with a wide smile.

Cassandra nods slowly, "Yes, I'm trained in class-4 Faith use... What is your plan sir?" She asks somewhat fearfully, realizing that the only reason everyone isn't dead is because of the trio currently being attacked.

Architect Arthur didn't respond as he revealed three vials of liquid and smeared them over the sharp heads of the bolts on the ballistas. After watching the fight and making sure the strange liquids are embedded into the heads, he replied, "Ma'am, my plan is the use of this poison if you will, that I have found. By sheer luck, it is sedative, what I find delightful." He paused before pointing at Cassandra, "I want you to use your faith to empower these poisons. Believe that they are stronger than what they really are." He turned his attention to the ballista he was next to after that.

After a brief moment of struggle, Arthur managed to loaded the ballista with the help of a soldier. After checking the poison to make sure they were still there with a considerable amount, he continued nonchalantly, "it can drop a horse to a day's worth of sleep. With Faith, we can drop this dragon with two shots by my guess," he turned to the fight, "tell me when you're done empowering these poisons."

The fight continued as a mess. Arthur raised a hand to his chin; Glacies is barely even using his more deadlier arrays of power. There had to be something more than landing and mindlessly slaughtering anything in its path. What is it that this dragon so desires?

One of the Praetorian Guards slammed his spear into a weak area, causing Glacies to roar in pain. Afterwards, he landed onto the ground undignified when compared to his previous skill combat prowess. Such actions were necessary to dodge a large cloud of ice coming to heal the stabbed wound… else he'll freeze to death.

The forms are hardly a mile away now, obviously bearing straight down on the duo.

Draco chuckled slightly "Careful now," he said as he looked at Lilly. "Hmm I think it's time to deal with your ex subordinates. Maybe turn them to our side," Draco said as he grinned to himself. "By that I mean have them be a new order of Dragon Riders who are our allies,"

Lily shrugs, "Alright, it's worth a try... Then again, they may not be the most accepting group if you show up first, so let me take point ok? And can I get a proper outfit? This feels really insubstantial..." She indicates the cloak currently covering her form.

Cassandra looks at him with a completely straight face, "What do you mean they can drop a horse? I believe the word you're looking for is massive deadly ice dragon..." She keeps the willful ignorance up, this being central to empowering the poison with her Faith. If she believes it is true, it can very well be true. That is the magic of the Prases faith, and one of the reasons they conquered their home continent with such ease.

@,

For a rare moment, Architect Arthur sagged his shoulders as if in disappointment. "It is informing you of how well this poison is truly capable of, especially if empowered by Faith."  He then spun or turned around towards the healer and asked a simple question, "are you done with empowering these keys to our victory?" After finishing his question, Arthur crouched low, squinting his eyes as he focused on the dragon from the ballista's primitive sighting system.

----

A sudden burst of contaminated air before the splintering of wood and the piercing of iron was heard mere milliseconds later. The wielder lifting his metal visor, turning towards the small crowd that watched his movements like vultures to a recently deceased carcass. "Gentlemen," the man waved to the crowd, his voice filled with arrogance, "I present to you the rediscovery of the firearm," he brandished the gun towards the crowd, "better than the crossbolt, which we made as a temporary fill-in till we can properly recreate this deadly device." The man paused as he handed the now-glorified metal tube on wooden casing to a nearby viewer before continuing, "It will make every weapon that is held by man of today obsolete! We can bring down dragons with this..." he had a smirk on his face, "what do you all say gentlemen?"

Despite the fact that the Architect outranks her, Cassandra can barely resist the urge to tell him to shut up and let her do her job. Instead she simply grits her teeth in concentratoin and frustration, then hands him the vials back, "Alright, they're ready. We'll be speaking later." She hisses.

Asator smiles and climbs on Ali's back.

"I wont try. I will do so. These Riders have picked the wrong team to pick a fight with!" Asator raises his hammer over his head and yells.

"TO ARMS!"

Asator rests his hammer on his left shoulder and grips the haft with his right hand. He pats Ali's back and looks up at the riders.

Ali takes flight as fast as she can, moving through the air faster than any crossbow bolt ever could. In almost the blink of an eye they're adjacent with the first of the riders, and in his mind Asator hears her scream "NOW!"

Lily reverts to her human form and dons the tunic, "Flying would be faster, but you're probably right... Now let's get going." She re-examines her body, still wondering what has changed aside from her newfound ability to become a half-dragon. She realizes something suddenly, "I may have someone who could be an ally of ours...." She pulls out the horn Asator gave her and blows it with all of her lung-power, causing a sound that echoes for dozens of miles. Unfortunately the intensity of the airflow also cracks the bone, rendering the horn useless without repair.

Asator swings his massive hammer around, using the momentum of the sudden acceleration and deceleration. He connects with the enemy dragon rider's face, sending him flying off the dragons back. Asator smiles as he feels the vibrations tickle his bone. as soon as Asator was about to strike the second rider, he hears the familiar noise of his horn.
"The horn!" He yells, "Either that hooded lady is calling me or theres someone from my village beckoning me."

Architect Arthur nodded his head, concealing a smile within his hood as he aimed at the dragon fighting the trio. Making sure that he was using the proper bolt that had poison on it and was properly loaded without any issues, he pressed the trigger. A sudden burst of smoke firing the opposite of the direction of the bolt as the gunpowder combined with the force of the strings accelerated it into the dragon's neck in a few seconds.

Slamming his tail on one of the assaulters, Glacies prepared to use one of his more dangerous abilities when he felt a crack into his armor. Believing it was like the countless other hits, he immediately sending a cloud of ice to block off the wound until he felt himself slowing down. Unlike the countless shots from those weapons the mortals were using, this had far more power... it was abnormal to Glacies. His assaults were faltering before he felt another crack into his neck again--he tried to move as his body began to feel heavy by each second. A final crack left him collapsing onto the ground, dispersing a large shockwave of frost before dying down mere seconds after it was formed.

Dead-pregnant silence rang through the remaining soldiers before shouts and cheers. They had defeated the beast! They killed it! Following their misguided thinking, they congratulated the trio, the Architect, and even the healer after the Architect mentioned the healer. Though there was a different emotion running course through each living body as along with joy, that emotion was the bleak sadness of the losses they had to sustain in order to accomplish such tasks.

"The beast isn't dead," Architect Arthur ruined the illusion with those mere four words before continuing, "it is merely asleep from the sedatives that I've applied onto the bolts and enhanced by the healer. I suggest you all drag it into the cage and bring it into the citadel in Doritha." The soldiers' joy were hampered by such news, but it was there as they accepted the information and got to work.

"Yes, but we can-WOAH!" Asator holds Ali as tightly as he could as she pulled off stunts in the air.
"ALI!" Asator yells as he feels the g-force shift his face around. As Asator gets used to Ali's speed he clears his throat and continues to hold on.

@,

Shadow put her hand on the wall and began to knock on a few areas, she tried to find the thinnest area in the wall. She knocked on a hollow area and said "Break a hole right here..."

Tenebae opened his eyes and noticed Raalie was gone. He got up and looked around.

Ranks of men formed up in a formation, a row six by four. This wasn't any standard battle line, it was something revolutionary with the introduction of the Line Infantry as military commanders will dub them. Having wearing more leather and steel plate based armor, they were relatively light compared to their counterparts, the crossbolt archers, and their heavier duty form-fitting armors. Even the standard double-edged and heavy blade was replaced with an one-sided, one-handed blade called a saber that was recently introduced into Praeses armies.

In the large plains in the rich low-risked barbarian frontiers, the new forces were being deployed for their first tests. Lining in a large formation of men running by meters facing a large barbarian wave, they readied their arms in synchronization. The targets got closer as the front ranks dropped to their knees with the sergeants yelling out orders. They crossed the four-hundred yard mark as the soldiers began firing. The second rank dropped, then the third, and finally the fourth. As soon as the fourth ranks finished their volleys, large gaps between each column as the heavy infantry behind charged forward.

The results were extraordinary; the battle was beyond all estimations as before the barbarians even crossed the three-hundred mark (the ideal location where the musket was effective against a target) the barbarians were cut down to pieces. It proved that firing the muskets at once was an excellent tactic for weapon that was poor with accuracy. The heavy infantry that charged after the firing was another major factor as the barbarians were far too shocked to ready themselves against the new threat. By such results, the Head General of the Praeses Military Forces signed his approval.

@,
"Go ahead, Raali." Zefira says.

Raali nods and head-butts the thin wall, sending it crumbling down and making a hole.

Zefira shields her face as dust blew unto it. Zefira brushes herself off and steps through the hole.
"Good job" She said, "You can return to Tenebrae if you'd like"
Zefira looks back at Shadow and holds up the torch.

Draco looked to see the dragon coming. "So a dragon?" Draco asked as he looked at Lilly. "Interesting choice of back up," Draco said as he looked at Lilly. "But are you sure you want this Lilly?" Draco asked "We are going up against your old order. Then again they are holding dragon spirits against their wills,"

"Yes, but we can-WOAH!" Asator holds Ali as tightly as he could as she pulled off stunts in the air.

"ALI!" Asator yells as he feels the g-force shift his face around. As Asator gets used to Ali's speed he clears his throat and continues to hold on.

"I normally don't leave a battle unfinished....but this is more important."

Ali sighs, "Sorry about that, had to shake them and that was the only way I could... I'll teach you how to pull off a few of those tricks later, but for now we need to get where we're going quickly..." She continues at high speed back to the sound of the horn, and they land next to the two figures, one the hooded woman now without her hood and the other a young man. She tucks her wings in and says, "We're here."

Lily looks over to the two, "Oh good, you heard..."

Cassandra sighs, "Looks like you're going to get us all killed, but I'm sure someone as well-learned as you knows what he's doing. Let's get going."

Draco asked "We are going up against your old order. Then again they are holding dragon spirits against their wills,"

Lily nods, "Yes, this is the backup I sent for, and yes I'm ready to do this. Actually, I'm not. This is a really bad idea at this point, we couldn't possibly stand a chance against them at the moment. Maybe we could try and make peace between you and the Riders? We need allies, and the Church wants to kill us more than the other guys do."

Asator laughs and pets Ali.
"I look forward to that day, Ali!" He says.
Asator adjusted himself and hopped off Ali. He looks up to see the hooded woman and another man standing in front of them.
"I was wondering when you were gonna call me. So is there a battle? If not I have a proposition for you." He says, ignoring the man standing beside the woman.
