The fact that SMB3 only just made the top 50 tells me that these ratings are largely meaningless lol.  This ain't even close to what my top 50-rated would look like.

It really especially; especially since a movie's placement on a list can be changed on the whim of a few angry voters (I think Titanic had that very issue).

 

I like a lot of the games listed, but I doubt all belong on this list.

I can't help it lol; I just don't think any GTA > SMB3. xD  This feels like a very poorly balanced (genre, era, and console-wise) and biased list.  Only ONE Zelda??!?  Blasphemy.  And while I loved FFVII back in the day, I always thought VI was the better FF (VI actually held up better, imo).  Not saying there aren't worthwhile games on that list (Elder Scrolls games and the Arkham games are excellent).  But, considering ALL of gaming history, less popular / obscure gems, and a wealth of E-rated titles that were mysteriously lower-rated...  Not feelin' it.

You make a good point.  And though I'm not necessarily a MGS fan, I have great respect for the series / its significance in the stealth genre and Hideo Kojima.  So I get why MG belongs on this list.  Some titles are just head-scratchers for me, though.

That's a pretty good list. Most of those games are great. Although, there are a few games that I'd like to see on that list that aren't there. I also disagree with a few of them. They're good, but I don't think they necessarily deserve to be on the top 50.
