searching And that's how Equestria will have been remade

Shortly after Celestia banished Luna to the moon, a dark-ish time fell upon Equestria.  The nation had yet to form in any solidified manner when Celestia, due to self-doubt and depression, suddenly left the cities that (before Discord) once were (and would eventually become again) Equestria to flounder along by themselves.

There seem to be some aspects of hope for these communities, for example the newly formed Wonderbolts are assigned to defend the erstwhile borders of Equestria.

The characters will be influential (not necessarily government themselves) ponies in the far reaches of Equestria, far from Canterlot or the newly formed still vaguely mobile Cloudsdale.  The town is independent from Canterlot by necessity, and the townsfolk may not even be in favor of the inefficient central government.

Characters will NOT be railroaded into becoming a part of Equestria.

Due to the fact that this is in Equestria's early history, tech and luxury levels are relatively low.

As you may guess, our roleplaying may focus less on adventure than slice-of-life stories. (or maybe you didn't guess it).  Challenges to characters will be more social or societal than fighting and whatnot.

Rule 1: characters may be ponies or any reasonably canonical species (for example since mules [a donkey/horse breed] exist zorses should exist too.  However such characters may be subject to prejudices and biases. [some biases may be reasonably true -- the canonical mules seem somewhat unintelligent and it isn't unreasonable to assume sterile]

Corollary- the characters must make sense within the context of the town (see below).  For example: zebras would (probably) only be important in a town if it is near zebra lands and many inhabitants ARE zebras.

Rule 2: Anybody who is interested should send a history of their OC which includes

a family (some will still be alive)

b livelihood

c at least 1 long or moderate term character goal (very important for future plot-lines)

d role in the town

e (optional) secrets

As well as any modifications they need to the town [i.e. my OC's a zebra so it's near the zebra lands]

I prefer that each character have something they require from the town even if it's that the town is a good place for growing a certain crop.

Rule 3 I'd like for characters to have a modified White-wolf type character sheet (more for keeping an idea of power levels than rolls, but I may use a dice server occasionally for important issues that I feel should go either way [like character conflicts].)

neccesary character sheet information:

What type of pony (or species) are you?

what's your mark?

If you don't understand this upcoming section; we'll work it out together.   Feel no need to get it right the first time.  I'm more looking for suggestions of character abilities than full stat sheets.

Attributes are: prowess (strength& stamina), Dexterity, perception, knowledge, amity (likability), manipulation, and for unicorns willpower. (minimum level =1 maximum 5 [a 2 is average for somepony who doesn't have a job that requires this attribute])  each character starts with 16 points between all these.

skills (again levels 1-5 for any skill possessed) These are general, such as: farming, athletics, weather, flying.  Each character should have about 20 points to start with and some should be dedicated to the OC's profession while others should have to do with at least one hobby [For example: Dashie has pranking]

A few background type details [owns a farm, has contacts with Canterlot or whatnot.]

Then feel free to up a couple of points (especially WP for non-unicorns) or add a bit of magic to your character or things the OC Merits or Flaws the OC has.

Corollaries:

a many earth ponies have sense type abilities (PP Cheese, and Granny Smith are examples)

if your OC has this, please rate it thusly (again scale of 1-5) how effective is it? (does it go off every time something will happen or rarely) how common is it?  (does it effect a lot of different things or is it very specific) and how intuitive is it? (does your OC know what the sense means exactly, vaguely or often not at all)

here are the three examples ratings -- as I see it.

Pinky effective-2 (some days she can't walk without it going off, some weeks it's gone) common 5 (the topics seem nearly limitless) intuit 4 (she didn't get what was up with Pinkie Keen -- nor does she know what will far or on whom).

Granny effective 4 (I guess.  She seems to have a great feel for certain things) common 2 (farming  -- or it may be 1 zap apples)  intuit 2 (she knows somethings up, but she has to test her theories -- I know the bees need something, maybe flowers?  OH it's to make a beard on me!)

Cheese Effective 5 (one party ends next party sensed) common 1 (parties in need of him) intuitive 5 (all the way in Ponyville and lies in wait for the party planning to come to him)

keep the sense power somewhat in check and we'll be fine.

b spells: have a few spells having something to do with the mark.  Assume about 1/2 are proficient and 1/2 are works in progress. (For example: Rarity has a repair spell which can not only repair dresses, but also wagon wheels)

c bucking for non-sensing earth ponies is natural and automatic.

d if you feel like min-maxing this probably isn't the rp for you.

Rule 4 If some act has to do directly with the plot-line or another OC do not have it take effect without some level of permission.  (like opening the secret box or punching an OC)  Do not say how an OC will feel think or speak without similar levels of permission.  The OC or I will respond in kind to the attempted action.  When something is CLEARLY stated, it cannot be countermanded.  If it is open to interpretation, the last interpretation cannot be countermanded.  [for example: if the town is on the border of the ocean -- this does not preclude that it is on the border of Zebra territory, but when it is ALSO on the border of Zebra territory it is not on the border of centaur territory].

Rule 5 I doubt I need to say this, but I've been in games where it should have been said. I'm the PM (pony-master) I'm going to try to be reasonable, but when the bits fall: what I say goes. On the other hand; I'm willing to listen to calm and collected criticism on how reasonable I am.

Suggestion: please Write in 3rd person.

please DO NOT write in 2nd person.
