I don't get it... Why does Fallout get so much attention. You know to me the worldbuilding fallout does is nice and all but the worldbuilding BACKSTORY is inexistant. Why the hell did everything get nuked? It makes no flippin sense... they just say "War Never changes..." and "Nature of humanity..." bs... Sorry...

You'd kinda know the world's backstory if you...yknow...you played it.

If you have, then you didn't pay attention enough.

 

There are literally thousands of computer files in the games that give you an in-depth look at life before the bombs fell and immediately during.

Basically, China and the United States went to war with each other over dwindling eesources.

I, myself, loved Fallout before becoming a brony, so really, Fallout Equestria was a match made in heaven for me.

@@Dattebayo,No i get the fact that there was war and all i just don't get the how did we just get from you know... tenuous peace... to launching all the world's nukes at once. I don't know... we are currently VERY hesitant in general to use nuclear weapons so i don't get it. In other news i just don't find it so realistic. I can find the nuclear holocaust realistic but the general game with the vats... the coca-cola pins used as currency ((seriously what?)) and the general game's pace was extremely un-interesting for me... I am glad it made more sense and was more interesting than modern military shooters but in general i didn't see the appeal in the story...

It's an alternate universe where we failed to make energy-efficient technologies, therefore we literally exhausted all of our resources in our hurry to become a world power.

And it's really not at all unrealistic as you think.

Based upon the scarcity and reliAbility of an object, anything could become currency in post-apocalyptia. I've seen media that uses sea shells, ones that use scraps of metal, even one that uses glass.

 

And as for VATS, it's an ode to Fallout's turn-based roots.

Unrealistic? You...do know it's a video game, that's meant to be played for fun...right?

If you want realism, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is right over there. It's so realistic, it's horrifically unpopular.

I don't get the hype for Frozen, and people have explained it to me alot harder than I hAve explained Fallout to you.

@@Dattebayo,No i get fallout but i just don't understand how different/unique/awesome the Fallout universe is... If anything it might just be done better but the general concept for me is cliche...
