Hello, everypony. It is I, Renegade, back with a new roleplay. This RP is based on the Deathlands book series by James Axler.

 

"When all is lost, there is always the future."

 

During an important meeting to negotiate a peace treaty between Equestria and the Griffon Kingdom, a one-megaton blast of weaponized magical radiation surges through Canterlot, destroying the Royal Castle and the surrounding area. Subsquent explosions across both kingdoms trigger a war between the two powers.

 

100 years later, Equestria has become the anarchic and barbaric Deathlands. Civilization has started again, but it is brutal, short, confused, and crazed from mutation. Small towns called Villes dot the region, along with city-states known as Baronies. Life is a strange anchronism stew mixing ancient history and prewar technology. What is YOUR destiny in the Deathlands.

Name: Golden Dawn

Gender: Male

Appearance: A stallion with a golden yellow coat and wings. His mane and tail a dark brown color, almost black. His eyes are a more bronze yellow, and a serious look on his face. An image of a golden sun just rising over a field, with darkness moving away from the sun's rays. His cutiemark represent his firmness of believe and willingness to stand strong like the sun against fear.

 

Personality: When a foal Golden had been cheerful and idealistic, though with age and on joining the Golden Order this stallion has grown more serious and follows his Order’s beliefs in mistrust and stubbornness. More he too has come to hate griffins for what he learned of Equestria’s fall from the Order. Still, some of his idealism can show through, and there is one mare of the Silver Order he would trust with his life. He is a pony that often keeps to himself when not training or having to interact with others out of necessity, Finally. More than many of his Order, he is a stallion of courage, who never gives up, and is willing to go to any length to protect ponies. More this can even extend to nonpony friends and allies, though such may well be rare... especially griffins.

 

Backstory: At the villa where Golden Dawn was born and grew up, he always loved the chance to go outside and play during the day while growing up, to see what he could find. His parents, Stardust and Red Blaze let their son have his little adventures feeling protected by the baron in who’s land the villie belonged to.

   Now Red Blaze was a senior member of the Order of the Sun, or as it was called by many the Golden Order,  which meant there were times he had to leave his wife and son while completing his duties and responsibilities with the Order. On his return Golden Dawn could always expect to hear stories of his father’s time away from home, as well as that of Princess Celestia though she was no longer with them. This sometimes made the young colt sad, before being reminded that though she was no longer with them she was still watching over ponies. That as long as their were ponies willing to follow her teachings she would never truly be gone.

   The day Golden Dawn gained his cutiemark was when he was playing with his friends near the forest that surrounded his home. On a dare, one his friend Merryweather went into the forest to try and find a certain plant said to only be found in the forest. Yet when his friend did not return and the others were beginning to panic the pegasus went into forest to look for her. The forest was dark and the young foal started to grown afraid, yet he pressed on knowing Merry needed him. Finally he found her trapped fallen branch. After helping her out from under it they both returned home, their parents waiting. It was at this time someone notice the cutiemark on his flank.

   When he was older Golden was sent to the central barony to begin his training to join one of the two Orders, and while the young stallion wished to join his father he still had to go through the same steps as everypony else. It was here that the pegasus met a mare of his race named Raven Feather, among other ponies. She was an interesting mare to say the least, always getting Golden Dawn into trouble with her antics and sneaking up on him when he least expected it. Yet they grew close, though they never considered being more then friends.

   The stallion trained hard and was finally placed as a member of the Golden Order, while his friend was taken into to join the Silver Order. His parents would meet him to give their congratulations before both he and Raven Feather went their separate ways promising to always be friends. From that time on he experienced what his father had spoken of when young, he would grow into his role of guardian and protector… as the Equestrian Guard of old.

 

Other: A member of the Order of the Sun, or as it is sometimes called the ‘Golden Order’ in comparison to the ‘Silver Order’ of the Order of the Moon. Members believe in Truth, Honor, Loyalty, and never telling a lie. They are taught to be guardians and protectors of ponykind, to face danger with courage and never surrender.

   The Order also teaches to distrust those that employ the shadows and darkness, even members of the Silver Order. They also have a hatred for Griffins and believe them the cause of Equestria’s fall, saying they betrayed Princess Celestia when all she wanted is peace. They also believe the Griffin Kingdom was the cause of the explosions, with this the cause of the royal sisters' death, and have yet to believe what they see as lies when griffins say their lands were bombed as well or that it wasn't them.

BACKSTORY: Not much is known about Renegade, as he is a mysterious individual. What is known about him, however, may come as a surprise to some. Renegade was born to a family of merchants, or "traders", as they most commonly known. Traveling from ville to ville, from barony to barony, the unicorn learned all he could about scavenging for the best objects to sell, especially weapons. At the age of 19, he inherited the family caravan from his father, who has recently died. He now travels in the Deathlands, trading with ponies, even the most despotic of barons.
