What's Up With Celestia's Security?

So I don't know if you guys have noticed, but a lot of bad things tend to happen to Equestria. I can't help but think Celestia could do a little more to protect her kingdom.

 

For one, how did the changeling army get so close to Canterlot without anyone knowing? They sure could use some border patrol or something. Also, you'd think that somebody should have noticed that Tirek had escaped from (what seems to be) Equestria's only prison before the season 4 finale.

 

I'm not sure who's responsibility this is (maybe Shining Armor's), but ultimately the blame falls on Celestia for not having better security

 

So what do you guys think? Does Celestia need to make some changes? If so, what (army, intelligence agency, more guards...)?

Well security is needed to fail in order for the mane 6 to have something to do. But I agree it seems like they do next to nothing whenever a threat appears. But it's probably all done that way for the sake of the story.

Celestia is a mastermind and very little of what is happening is really beyond her ken.  She has just been making things a test for Twilight.

lol yes guys, I understand it is for plot convenience (it's partly a joke thread)

 

But for the future, I think Celestia should increase her security (and Meghan McCarthy should find a way around it )

Celestia's lack of security is "The Plot's" fault,not hers.

 

Surely you must understand that someone in Celestia's position should have the clarity to have better overall security. She should make changes,yes,but she will not unless "The Plot" demands of it for her will is not her own unfortunately.

Security for the Empire must not be a high priority for Celestia. I assume that there has been very few true threats in the last 1000 years, meaning that she has had very little reason for a large defensive force.

At least she broke Twilight's "Want It, Need It" spell in Lesson Zero and Discord-proofed the EOH in Keep Calm And Flutter On.

I agree it's either because it's all part of Celestia's master plan or the plot, but either way more effort should be put in to make it at least appear the Equestria has a semi-competent defence force.
