ggg-2 3,553 July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 In Family Appreciation Day, Granny Smith said that her family originally travelled Equestria until they eventually settled down on the land Celestia gifted to them, and built what would eventually grow into Ponyville. From that episode on, one thought that has always been in my head is "So, where in the hay did the Apple family come from in the first place?". What's your theory? Don't be a nerd. Join the herd! M'aiq the Liar 5,804 July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 Well, there are several other pony lands mentioned. South Amareica is mentioned in one of the children's novels, along with the original homelands that the 3 tribes came from (as with any mass exodus there are always going to be stragglers). There are also places on the offical Equestria map that are called the "mackintosh hills". As they have an apple themed name, that place seems likely. http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <

I'm going to take a wild guess and say Appaloosa, just because Applejack has a relative(s) there, Braeburn.
Zoraxe 546 July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 I'm going to take a wild guess and say Appaloosa, just because Applejack has a relative(s) there, Braeburn. I'm going to say I think that is most probably not the case, as Appaloosa is further away from Canterlot than Ponyville is and it seems these southern settlements are relatively new. I would say Doge Junction and Appaloosa are newer than Ponyville.
sweetolebob18 728 July 3, 2015 Share July 3, 2015 There was an Applejack in the G1 ponies. So, I'm going w "Apples have been around more or less forever" & she has kinfolk all over EQ. In short, could be anywhere in EQ.
Daring_Do 552 July 3, 2015 Share July 3, 2015 We don't know about Dodge Junction's age, but Appaloosa is a new settlement. At the time of Over a Barrel it'd been built in the past year, I think (on the buffaloes' land, hence the dispute).
cider float 2,538 July 4, 2015 Share July 4, 2015 (edited) I'm guessing it could be Appaloosa since they do have some relatives there and there is a likeness of their culture there and in Sweet Apple Acres. The Apples though are the first residents and founders of Ponyville I believe. They could also have come from Manehattan where the Oranges are at as well as Babs Seed. The Apple family could be very well spread out in Equestria for all we know because during the Apple reunion they seem to come from out of town. ~ Dr. Ocsid ~ 690 July 4, 2015 Share July 4, 2015 In my headcanon, they once ruled over a big Earth Pony city called Pommeford, which was as important to the Earth Ponies as Cloudsdale is to the Pegasi and Canterlot is to the Unicorns. It was the center of agriculture in Equestria, with extensive orchards, plantages, and acres all around it, until some big disaster struck, the city was destroyed, and the inhabitants scattered all over the land, some founding Manehattan, others setteling elsewhere, and others, like the Apples´ ancestors, traveled Equestria for centuries.
