I have a love and hate relationship with Matthew. In short, he's an amateur film critic who is infamous for his Lion King and Back to the Future II reviews. I will warn of spoilers in this video for those who haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy. I will say that the first 5 minutes are the best part of the video. Because Matthew addresses the Ant Man movie production hell and how Marvel axed creativity and something that would most likely have been awesome.

Matthew is just dull with his movie taste, fine by me, he's his own person. But I feel that he is giving DC/Warner Brothers sainthood, while Marvel is this faceless company. These are super heroes and he's expecting Phantom of the Opera or Citizen Kane. When I was a kid, reading comics was all about fun and to get out of this joke we call reality.

He is quite harsh with his criticism, much harsher than is deserved. I don't think it is fair to say that it is "one big exposition dump" especially considering that there are quite a few other movies out there that are far more deserving of this description. One thing he needs to consider is that most people including me have never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy before this movie so some additional exposition is kind of necessary to get people to know and understand the characters. Based on what I saw from the movie it didn't take itself all that seriously at all except for maybe some key points in the movie where it was warranted like the beginning for example.
