Pointless Whining

Does anybody here get annoyed when someone does nothing but whine and complain, but never tries to fix their problems? These people also tend to be unbelievable try hards about how "deep" they are(all of humanity is doomed, there are no good people, the universe is 42), which can come across as rather pretentious when they start up their tirades and act like they're superior because you don't follow their "deep" message. They do nothing but piss and moan about how horrible people or their life is, yet they either want things to remain the same, don't care enough to try, or are simply whining for no reason.

 

I know that was a wall, but I wanted to get it off my chest. Not sure if this is the right section, but what ever.

 

So yeah, any opinions on this?

I tend to attract people with problems, which is fantastic when I'm at work where people need to be comfortable with me and terrible when I'm trying to make friends. More than once I've wound up as someone's non-consenting therapist and had to put my foot down, which occasionally ended the friendship. I can really only listen to it so many days in the week, especially when I'm sick in bed.

 

Sometimes I think people get stuck in some kind of cycle of venting, where they complain to try to make themselves feel better and wind up feeling worse because they've spent all afternoon dwelling on it. Then they have that to complain about.

I just released the hypocrisy of me complaining about whining and then whining in this thread. Heh. Well, let me reiterate, "constantly"

I believe the reason why people complain so much to the extent of tantamountly enjoying complaining, is because all people have an expectation of how things can be better than they presently are.

 

The hinting towards "better" or possibly even a "perfection" I think is a signal of transcendence that perfection is an absolutely real and existent thing, and not just genetic ambition towards progress. We would not feel hungry if there was not such a thing as food.

Actually had to just block someone on Facebook. They tare down every friend they have, yell at them all the time and do it to everyone. I've told them how to break the cycle, all that's left is for them to listen to my advice but they keep lashing out at everyone all the time so I had to block them only so it wouldn't end up happening to me

 

They probably made a status complaining about me blocking them or something but I didn't contact them at all. They actually messaged one of my spouses yelling at them about it

 

Sometimes I just have to be done with certain things and that's one of them

in my family no one whines and if they do they are ignored as for other people if they start whining I ignore them

Not sure if that was directed at me or not, but to answer your question, the typical response is some drivel that sounds like it was copy pasted from a conspiracy website about how humanity is evil and the universe is meaningless
