Mission Impossible: Saving Flash Sentry

To be honest, I think just about anything. If you were to remove him from both Equestria Girls movies, it wouldn't affect their plot in any way. The only thing he actually did was find those pictures to show Celestia, but anyone could have done that instead. His cameo in FiM amounted to nothing.

 

So far he's served no real purpose and from my perspective remains a blank slate. If they were to do anything more with him, I'd like to see him become the Luna to Shining Armor's Celestia, if you know what I mean. This would most likely require some more episodes focusing on Shining Armor himself, but for a while now I've wanted them to make some episodes apart from the Mane 6 and the CMC, exploring some of the secondary and recurring characters a bit more. Making an episode or two SA-centric would give them a good opportunity to make something of Flash Sentry as well.

Okay, if you've seen me a lot on the forums I often make long posts, so I'm going to try and tackle this.

 

In Equestria Girls 3 there is a major subplot about Flash Sentry. Flash is a bully and up until now a person who ruled the school with flirting and manipulation, he did it indirectly, but just as menacingly as Shimmer. He could get any girl that he wanted, and didn't really have any respect for women in general. Taunting people like Sunset Shimmer and having a girlfriend whilst he was flirting with Twilight. But Flash's friends start to turn on him when they find out what he did, and he begins to fell upset but with anger instead of remorse, threatening to hurt the people who told them. He becomes a rampaging tyrant who rumors begin to spread round about being a two faced, deceitful, liar and bully. But he doesn't show any remorse, just anger and upset on the people who told the school about his true nature. Apple Jack and Rarity try to talk to him about why people dislike him and what he did wrong and he begins to listen and feel a tad of remorse, and says theres nothing he can do, its too late. Sunset Shimmer tells him that it's never to late to change, but he leaves, saying that he can't be bothered, and that he plans to change schools to start fresh, not taking the people he's hurt very seriously.

 

However he then see's Twilight making out with another guy, and he begins to feel heartbroken, and apologetic to what he's done. There's a scene where he tells to himself (Or sings, whatever) that he messed up and that he has finally learned empathy, something that he hasn't learned before. This only furthers his desire to leave the school, wanting to start fresh, but Sunset then says that that's the easy way out, and that you need to make an effort to revert your image instead of abandoning the people you've hurt. He then goes up and says that he's sorry, but is still met with disgust and anger. Sunset then sits him down in Apple Jack's farm where she says it will take a while to fix what he's done, but that you should never give up, and that they should work together in helping themselves get in a better place. It then ends with a Dear Princess Twilight letter with Sunset looking over his shoulder.

The thread title was a little misleading. It said we had to make Flash Sentry likable, not make him good enough to marry Twilight.

 

If the idea was to make him simply likable, that's easy:

 

Twilight meets Flash in the atrium of the Crystal Empire's palace. They have not seen each other in a while. Flash smiles to Twilight and says, "Oh, your highness, I'm so glad you're here. I'd like you to meet someone." He trots outside with Twilight following him until he comes up to another stallion standing in the courtyard. "Twilight Sparkle, this is my boyfriend..."

Marrying Twily is on a whole new scale alltogether he has to get through shining first
