Plot
There were those who thought that Celestia and Luna would live forever. It was not a terrible assumption.They'd lasted a thousand plus years, and showed no signs of wear and tear! They were the most powerful alicorns to ever grace the lands. There was no indication to most that they were not immortal. The closest they'd ever come to losing their glorious leaders was when the Changelings attacked Canterlot.She'd been attacked, overwhelmed even, but she was back on her hooves by the end of the day. No need for alarm. Was but a scratch.

So they thought.

Queen Chrysalis had planned for the eventuality that she could be beaten. A million things could have gone wrong with her plan and, of course, they did. So, the spell that she had released would seem to do little: daze the Princess, put her out of commission, but all and all she would live.

For a time.

The spell caused a horrible cancer to grow through her body. It was painless, a completely unnoticeable killer. The first sign of any danger came from a cough. By the time the Princess was coughing up blood, the cancerous disease had spread to her heart. There was nothing that could be done. The Princess' heart failed, and most thought it was the greatest tragedy of the age... that nothing could out do it...

They were wrong... with The Princess' sudden absence, and without unicorns who were trained and prepared to take over her role like ponies had before Celestia's rule, the sun halted in it's orbit, looming over it's ponies.

Note:
I am accepting 1/2 good RPrs for this Role-play. The reason for the limited pick is because of potential this storyline has. In saying that, I will allow cannon ponies to be in this RP, only if you are able to write a well-worded post to prove you can take the role.

If you are planning to be your OC, I would like a link (or just a copy) of a post you have done earlier.

The reason for the search is because I have found that some players half a lacking in writing, which then instantly kills the story.

Hmm... I really, really like these well-developed RP's with few participants in it... I would love to join if I could. However, I haven't roleplayed in a long time, I don't even know if I have an old sample post I can show you. :/

 

Also, I'm assuming this RP will be posted in the Advanced section, with the 800 characters minimum, yes?

@@Driz, That depends on what is requested by the RP group. I have found that one could give more detail in a small post than a bad writer can give in 1000 words. Frankly, we could just do a normal RP and chose what post length we like. Sometimes, not much is needed to be said.

 

As for your request to join, I will not deny you. Do you wish to be a cannon pony, or an oc (Or both if you are wishing to do so)?

Yeah. I personally feel somewhat pressured with the huge characters minimum demand the Advanced RP's have. If I had a vote, I would prefer to do a normal one and see what we can develop with that.

 

As for my character, I would like to use one of my OC's: Maya Sphere. If needed, I can also take control of a cannon pony if you want. Thank you for letting me join~ :3

What will our primary objective be in the story? From what I understand, we'll be fighting off Queen Chrysalis and her changelings while trying to fix up the sun. If that's the case, perhaps we could start somewhere in Canterlot, talking to Princess Luna or something along these lines.

 

I still have to come up with a reason for my character to be in this... She never really liked Celestia.

As for the RP, I have a few ideas for the storyline:

 

A: As Celestia is no longer with us, it would bring down the lunar goddess as well, forcing her to possibly step down. Who would rule canterlot? Would Luna be Up to the task? Maybe one of the other princesses desires to help with the throne... but would it be accepted? (Cannon heavy rp)

 

B: With Luna taking the throne, there would be much speculation regarding if it's hers to take. It could ever sprout a rebellion

 

(I actually can't think of anything more to add... If any of you have any ideas, feel free to add them. I myself am a little towards A, but that's just me.)

Then again, we still need an objective, as in a reason for our characters to meet each other and proceed with the storyline together. It could be a search for a relic that would presumably revive Celestia, it could be a mission to infiltrate the changeling's hive, or it could even be a post apocalyptic-ish survival setting in the lawless Equestria, taken over by chaos. Your choice.

An apocalypse sounds fun. However, why do we have to go post? Why not stat this off at the very beginning? With the sun's halted orbit, it could explode, sending chunks solidified nuclear material downward onto the earth. The rock Impacts would cause the earth's surface to destabilize and crack. That would cause earthquakes of massive proportions. Two in one: space rocks and shaking. We would have to survive and find each other along the way. Then, when things calm down, we begin to thrive.

Another Random thought I had was one kinda like Half-Life. With some experiment going wrong, and suddenly portals open all over the world, with strange creatures pouring out into the world.

I took the liberty of complementing the story we have so far with the apocalyptic survival setting proposed by @arkman575:

It was feared, but it was inevitable: soon enough, the shocking news had spread across the entire nation of Equestria. Furthermore, as expected, chaos reigned freely. Without the Goddess of the Sun to protect the pony kind, with the astral cycle out of control and no pony capable of fixing it, a wave of terror and desperation approached. It was a lawless zone. For every peaceful family that fled the country, there was a group of bandits and evil-doers alike that brought destruction and disarray to every corner.

 

The newspaper read: "The end has finally arrived. If not by its own population, Equestria will be wholly devastated when the celestial body finally gives up and crashes upon our houses." In these dark times, you have to find the means to survive anyway you can. 

 

Be prepared.

 

Of course, this is still just an idea. Tell me what you guys think. We could work with @Commander Tangent's idea as well (or even combine them both), I wouldn't complain about it. It's up to you guys~

I was thinking about a way to introduce Maya to the current plot of the story right now (which is the meeting in the conference room). It would involve her adeptness in necromancy, where they - the royal guards - would try and convince her to contact Celestia from the dead. I won't make of it anything major or plot-twisting (since she won't be able to contact Celestia so easily and voluntarily), just something to give my character a little bit of "importance", per say. Whaddya think?~

Well, I'd assume that, before the sun literally explodes, there would be many other events happening, such as the temperature rising abruptly, flaming rocks falling from the sky here and there, and of course, an organized chaos between the civilians due to the temporary absence of legislative power... I guess. ô-õ

In all honesty, I see a breakdown happening after the sun explosion. Celestia may be gone, but cadence and Luna remain, along with the governing bodies of other nations.The hardships so far would probably push some to extreme measures, but not the entire society. However, the sunburst ( as I like to call it XD) would send an already on the edge civilization spiraling towards chaos. Either way, both scenarios are enjoyable. Just putting my cents in ^__^
