What new friendship lessons would you want to see in season 5?

One thing I noticed being mentioned in Brony analysis videos and in mlp forums was 1: the potential for the Mane 6 to branch out of their own little tight-knit friendship group and make more close friends that they interact with, because that's the point of the series, friendship is Magic, not friendship in your own little group and no one else is magic. And 2: seems like a lot of Bronies are/ were misanthropes.

Personally, while I don't watch MLP for the friendship lessons and morals, due to simply not being interested in a friend-making tutorial, and just watch the show for the bright colors, cute characters with relate-able personalities, and awesome music, I'd still like to see an episode that touches on someone of the Mane 6 dealing with somepony that might've gone through whatever hell they were put through, or might've seen or whatever, to become a misanthropic pony or hikikimori (shut in) in Equestria, or whatever new land the gang ends up visiting. Like a grittier situation that Cranky Doodle chose to be in.

Or perhaps an episode with one of the Mane 6 and Snips or Truffle Shuffle, having a friend to help a chunky pony help with emotional eating or something? Or with their different body type being a positive thing, teaching them that not everyone is meant to look the same or have the same shape, and what matters if is they're comfortable in their body? Body shaming/ appreciation episode?

edit: since I'm a fan of Sinfest, and just read the latest comic, I'd also like to see MLP try to tackle an episode with a character that doesn't have parents or memory of those parents wonder where they belong in the world, and seek out someone similar. (not AppleBloom or Apple Jack, because while they might not have parents, they might remember them, and know that they belong with their immediate family to help on the farm)

Why don't they show the more mature morals from G1, like drug addiction (not literally done) or puberty?

And not the typical generic and clichéd lessons and morals that the Disney of the 40s always taught us.

drug addiction? In MLP? Really? Were you around for the Derpygate fiasco? There was a huge stink pade by parents over a character's 'derped', wall-eyes and tomboyish voice. Because they thought it was making fun of handicapped people or disabled people with speech disabilities. Now imagine the stink made by parents if DHX brought in a lesson about drug addiction, which is going to hit the fan harder than a silly little characters' derped eyes and voice.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid, but still, the more the children grow, the more mature the lessons became, so those lessons could be appreciated. And I ment not literally. Just that somepony has an addiction to something and later realizes his mistakes how bad his addiction was. Like that. A subtle message.

Did the annoying parents yell because of that 'violent' S4 finale fight too? Are they seriously that overprotective?

Sorry, English is not my main language. Spanish is.

MLP: FiM doesn't deal with mature morals since A) Pulling off a mature moral isn't easy in a cartoon for children, B) Most of these mature morals like drug addiction would spark controversy and C) It's MLP: FiM, not South Park.

G1 isn't as dark as you think it is. Sure, there are some interesting villains like Tirek and Grogar, but MLP has always been and marketed as a lighthearted and simple series. I can tell you that I've seen a lot of G1 as well. Just because G4 is more carefree than other series doesn't make it childish or embarrassing, or any lighthearted cartoons, for that matter.

The fact that you will loose, and there are people out there more talented and better suited for the job than you.

It would be a great moral to see, and one children are going to encounter on the daily. You are not always going to win big in the end, and quite often there is going to be someone out there that is better suited for the task at hand than you. This was touched upon in "pinkies pride", but not to the level I wanted to see. In the end the moral was more that you should not compete at the expense of your friends happiness, and that for pinkie making her friend smile was more important than being the best party planer. I would like to see an episode that deals directly with the fact that there are people better than you, and that in order to maintain a healthy outlook on life, one must accept this and always work to better themselves. I had hoped for such a moral after seeing the trailer for EqG2 (with the song talking about competition, and the fact that you may be better than others) but with a oversimplified moral conclusion and story that the movie will most likely have, I do not see that occurring.  All to often we see the "special snowflake" mentality in children and even young adults, it would be great seeing an episode that directly deals with the fact that you are not always the best, and that at some point you are going to fail.

Another great lesson would be to see the issue of loss. During a childhood it is rather standard to experience loss, whither it be a family member, a pet, or even a close friend. Several other kids shows (even ones that are targeted at children younger than the intended audience of FiM) have dealt with this issue. Mentions of death and funerals may not need to take center stage, but the subject of permanent loss  is one all modern children could benefit from teaching on.

I wanna see one of the CMC get their cutie mark and the other two dealing with jealousy, just as long as Corey Powell doesn't write it ;)

Perfect idea on the CMC and I think we need to lay out a trail of Reeses Pieces for Mr. Powell ... if you know what I mean.

@Darker and @Nightmare Muffin ... what if I were to tell you that there is already an episode that can easily act as a allegory about drug addiction if you approached it that way? Go watch the series again. Tell me what you find. After all ... art is a collaborative process is it not?

Also, FiM has dealt with loss, betrayal, depression, bullying, isolation, not relying on others, ... aren't those themes the very definition of mature as they are themes that occur in a mature human experience?
