Soul Eater is probably my favorite anime. I first discovered the show about a year ago. I was on Netflix one day and I was trying to get into anime. I found this anime called Soul Eater and I decided to check it out. After I saw the first few episodes I fell in love with the show and has been a fan of it ever since.

It's one of my favorite animes and I personally love Death the Kid, he's easily my favorite character (and one of my favorite all-time anime characters).

I also binge-watched it and I'd say it was time well spent.

Still need to watch Soul Eater Not! though.

It was a good anime, i don't watch anime anymore, but i do recall enjoying Soul Eater. However, i also recall the ending to be not so great.  :maud:

I liked the anime well enough but like a lot of anime it ended before the manga finished (the manga may even still be going) and so the ending was a little underwhelming.

From what I remember it had the style, and some good animation, but still played a little too much to common tropes in anime that bogged it down some. Where they could have been completely and totally unique they went the easy way out. It's been awhile so I've forgotten most of the anime and can't give any real examples though.

Much like any other popular anime, though, it has terrible AMVs. Naruto, Bleach, Soul Eater...most AMVs you find for these anime are shit and use the same few scenes over and over again with minimal or bad editing.

You may be asking, why would I bring up AMVs? Because to me, AMVs is how I find new music and anime to watch a lot of the time and usually they improve my enjoyment of a series by seeing scenes I enjoyed from the show in a new light with music I love. Cutting out all the fluff and letting the music do the talking... <3

I like AMVs too. They put a song in your head with a memorable scene you love, and when you watch/read that scene next time, you'll think of the song from the AMV with it. Also, Soul Eater is over, the manga I mean. It's been over for almost two years now, iirc.

I love Soul Eater! Me and my brother binge-watched it on Netflix in like three or four days! My favorite character was Black*Star. He might have been an obnoxious ninja wannabe a lot of the time, but he had planty of badass moments too.

Although, as much as I love Soul Eater, it's not my favorit anime/manga. My favorite manga (it doesn't have an anime, sadly...) is an extremely underrated series called Kongou Banchou. It blew my mind! It was amazing! All the characters and storyplots were badass, and the fights were (for lack of a better word) epic!

I know that feel sorta. Jing: King of Bandits is one of my favorite manga and though it does have an anime (that I've yet to see more than a few episodes of) I don't think it has all parts of the manga in it. In the anime Jing is an adult pretty much the whole time but both manga series' have him growing throughout. He's a kid about 10-12 in the first one and by the last volume of the second series he's around 17.

Soul Eater is the manga series I went to buy when I found out it was going to be released in the US (I am up to date as of today). I would say the mange started me down the path of getting other manga (another complete series I have that is shonen is NORA) As far as shonen goes, Soul Eater is my all time favorite anime....

Cool. You don't see many anime that make their characters become adults, though. In Kongou Banchou, Akira (the main protagonist) starts out 17 and is 25 at the end of the series. I think the thing that I loved the most about Kongou Banchou, yes, even more than the fights, was the family-like closeness of the main cast. And the thing that makes it so awesome and interesting is that all of his friends, every one of them, started out as enemies! He fought them, defeated them, changed their ways, and made them closer than family. Whats more badass than that?

It does sound pretty awesome. Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple does the same thing. A lot of the people he fought became allies or some were former friends with grudges who turned over a new leaf thanks to him. If you haven't read that one and like fighting and camaraderie than I'd recommend it. Don't watch the anime though. It ends long before anything interesting happened in the manga, like right at the end of the first major story arc.

Actually, I already have read a few chapters of it. It's pretty good so far, and I'm told it gets better, but I'm a bit tied up when it comes to reading manga, at the moment. I currently have to catch up, or finish, at least 4 or 5 different manga, so I'm kinda multi-tasking, lol.

It gets WAAAY better so definitely stick to it when you get around to reading it. At least try to read past when they fight the leader of Ragnarok. That's when the anime ends and when the series starts getting really good.

Alright, I'll give it another go when I finish reading the manga I need to catch up on.
