Outside the cave Daring Do stood, looking inside for any immediate dangers. The Crystal Empire may be a peaceful place since Sombra's death, but that didn't mean all dangers magically disappeared with him. She had read enough books to know that. "Are all of you ready?" she asked her small team. "I'm not going back outside when we're deep inside just so you can go potty, so you'd better do whatever you need to."

"no...no... i'm fine just can't wait to help.....now when will we get to the action?" said smiling sun... intently waiting for an answer....while he was waiting for a reply he thought (.....COME ON! lets get to the action....i'm dying for a good fight) as he thought this he became more intent for an answer.

The purple earth pony known as Ruby Shears had finally found the excitement she was seeking. Her smile could have rivaled Pinkie Pie's in size as the group stood by the looming cave entrance.

She remembered the looks on her foals' faces and their squees when she told them she were going on a Daring Do adventure. They were huge fans of her books, having read every single one up to that point (except Brownie Chip couldn't finish Daring Do and the Ghosts of Bittysburg because it gave him nightmares). She wished she could take them with her but Daring's journeys were much too dangerous for ten-year old foals.

"No need to delay, Daring Do," Ruby Shears told her. "I was born ready."

Daring grinned, stepping inside the cave. "That's good enough for me. If any of you chicken out, though I doubt that'll happen, say so and I'll fly you to a safer spot you can go from." She had made sure to choose only those who she thought would do well... Okay, and maybe one or two she doubted would. A story wouldn't be complete if all the characters in it were flawless adventurers. "I managed to make a rough sketch of the map from information I got through a few books, so we should be going in... this direction!" she declared.

@@Piefan,

With her head still rattling with the thoughts of all that treasure, Anala eyed the map intently. She was anticipating what to do with her share of the treasure. Maybe move out of her apartment and get an at least decent house, much like her friend Riley's.

"Will my bow and arrow come in handy anywhere?" she asked Daring.

"okay....just to let you all know....i'm not a good attacker but i'm great at defense a tactic i usually used to use...and the same tactic i used on my father when i had to kill him... long personal story won't go into...anyway in this tactic i would distract the targets and allies would attack them from behind...but this doesn't always work so a new tactic will need to thought of.....so i will get to work on that" said smiling sun.....after a moment he continued his talk "also.....i think everyone should say there battling weaknesses so we can work around them....i am a tactical novice after all"

Spark remembers how she got into this situation... It's been months since the last case in Manehattan and, unlike her best friend, she didn't have a second job. It seemed like a miracle when somepony was speaking outside, about how they'd love to be part of a Daring Do adventure. Intrigued, she decided to research (for five minutes) on this Daring pony. Almost instantly, she found a way to get some cash she could use to pay the rent easily (she thought.)

As they were still standing outside the cave, Spark says:

Oh, come on. It's not like it's gonna be so bad we need to plan "tactics" of attack... Right?

"It sure is dark down that way, Daring," Ruby remarked, peering down the tunnel.

She listened intently to the others talking about strategy. After all, she was an earth pony who had strength and endurance on her side but with no knowledge of the cavern, she had no choice but to follow the instincts of the rest of the group.

"I hope I'm not overdressed," she said, flaunting the shoes on her hooves. "As much as I don't like getting them dirty, I'm sure if we can just get to that treasure, it will all be worth it."

"We're going into a mysterious, unexplored cave. I doubt Ahuizotl's going to come along, but yeah, I'd say battle tactics and weapons are important." She glanced into her saddlebag as she walked deeper into the cave. For this mission, she had actually brought materials rather than just her own brawn. Of course, most of it had nothing to do with actual battle, more the healing, but she expected her intelligence would be enough.

"I hope I'm not overdressed," she said, flaunting the shoes on her hooves. "As much as I don't like getting them dirty, I'm sure if we can just get to that treasure, it will all be worth it."

As the mare said this, Daring looked at her own clothing - the usual vest and her hat, which she straightened for the sake of it. "Yeah, I'd say you're fine as long as they don't restrain your movement." Surprise attacks were common in such places, and they wouldn't have time to take off their accessories to battle.

Still not startled about the cave or the fact they were going to encounter creatures in the cave, she states "Well, too bad... I suck at all kinds of battling... Boxing, wrestling, you name it, can't do it... But I'm good at running away though." (joking around)

She looks around for a way to be useful to the group.

"I can see," Ruby replied. "I am pretty light on my hooves."

"Well, too bad... I suck at all kinds of battling... Boxing, wrestling, you name it, can't do it... But I'm good at running away though."

Ruby let out a light-hearted chuckle at Spark's quip. "You do bring up a valid point, though," she added. "It's a good thing we're not exploring this cave alone."

She took this time to check the saddlebag she brought with her. Inside were ordinary items but they still may provide some help on their quest. Among those was a can of hairspray which easily could be used as pepper spray in case a renegade stallion wanted his way with her. In addition, she brought essentials such as food, water and a whistle in case she got lost. She closed her bag, adjusted the strap and continued onward with the group.

Rena was excited about making new friends in an adventure, but she didnt came with a lot of equipment (also cant handle taking so much charge, not enough strenght), as she follows the group, Rena hears them talking about startegy but they looked kinda of busy so she went directly to follow a pony that was not talking with the group in that moment (Ruby), tried to figure out what to say before the fact that she was staring at it starts becoming awkward so spot the clothes and inmediatly said
"Hey, are you a tailor? i love tailors"

Ruby slowed her pace to allow the magical rag doll to catch up once she saw her coming. She showed Rena her cutie mark, a closed pair of silver hair-cutting shears.

"No, I'm not a tailor," Ruby answered. "I'm a manedresser. I own a salon in Bucklyn where I style ponies' manes and tails. Between you and me, it's like an all-day sleepover whenever I go to work."

She paused and sighed so that Rena could take it all in. "But I can see why you're fascinated with tailors. Maybe after our adventure, I can have my daughter play with you. She loves dolls."

Daring frowned at this. She didn't have much if a sense of humor... Or any at all, in fact. "Well, at least running away means you won't burden us worrying about you," she said, trying to be optimistic. She didn't want to drive everypony away before they even got to the important parts. Yeah, that would mean she kept the whole treasure, but she was in it mainly to have a book series, not for the riches. They would come with the sales of books anyway.

Perfect Spark walks up to the leader. "Heh, you still haven't seen what I'm capable of..." Spark said, "You'll be amazed!"

"Also, it's not going to be that easy for you to get rid of me." She smiles. She never cared about what others thought about her. And she will always try to annoy everypony around her as much as possible.

@,

Ruby trotted closer to the head of the group until she was at even length with Perfect Spark. "I for one can't wait to see just what you can do," she said. "Tell me, Perfect Spark, is this your first time in a cave? I haven't been in one since I was a filly. Oh, I remember my adventuring days. It's brought me my permanent fear of graveyards."

As soon as Rena was alone she decided to find out how to meet someone else in the group, she decided to not annoy Daring because after some books a friend readed to her, but she was so excited having someone like Daring to her side than she couldnt control herself to avoid being annonying, as soon as Rena walked to Daring she reminded to herself "BE CHILL, DONT GET OVEREXCITED" so she started trying to not look awkward, while looking at the floor trying to avoid visual contact said "Hi Daring, umm, i just wonder.. is this going to be in the books?..."

Daring flicked her eyes to the filly... magical rag doll? Whatever she preferred to be called. Probably just Rena. "Yep, every part that ponies are going to want to read'll be in a book." She shrugged casually, the idea of starring in a novel normal to her. "I haven't thought of a title yet, but I'll probably think of something." Her first thought had been simply "Daring Do and the Crystal Cave", as it sounded good and captured the plot well enough, but upon further thought she decided it should have some involvement of the others. "Daring Do and the Completely Different Ponies Who Joined Her Either Because They Wanted The Treasure Or Because They Liked Her Books" was too long.

As she look up at the fancy mare speaking to her, she remembers. "Um... no... I lived in Manehattan, so... No caves. Yet again, I did live in Ponyville in my first five years... But I don't recall any caves either. So, first timer here."
Looking around at the cave, she notices that it's getting darker and darker. She looks through her saddle bag and remembers she brought nothing useful. ..."Did anyone bring a flashlight?"

Daring Do couldn't stop herself from chuckling. "No, no. Let me rephrase that: Anything that fillies are going to want to read will be in the book." She was fully ware of her younger fanbase (if a pony who seemed to be almost illiterate from her vocabulary liked them, then so would a kid, plus the book signings were far from ambiguous), and in fact most of her adventures involved much more violence than the books held. "I'll be giving each of you previews anyway, so if you think something's too violent, send me a letter and I'll edit it out." She didn't want to get sued for slander (seriously, once she mistook a completely legal hunter for a serial killer) because she misunderstood something somepony said, which had been the main reason she had decided to do so.

"Well, that's good," Ruby sighed in relief and chuckled as well. "You'll get all our accounts in one piece that way." She then turned to the rest of the group until she found herself within earshot of everypony there. "I still wonder what kind of monsters we're going to find in here. I hope they won't be as bad as my son's pet snake"

As she's walking, she keeps her earing sharp to be focused on the topic at "hoof". Since she doesn't know about the topic or anything related to monsters or fantastic adventures, she decides to join in!

"Yeah, Ruby, that's a great question. Hey, Daring! What kind of monsters will we find at this here dark cave, huh?"

Daring flicked an ear absentmindedly, thinking of the ten minutes she had spent researching that part. "Vampire bats, most likely," she replied. "Maybe some cockatrices." Monsters were things she was used to, and she had gone on plenty adventures in the Crystal Empire and at least one in its caves. She was mainly calling upon that knowledge here. "Speaking of cockatrice..." She jerked her head towards one, though it took somepony with good eyesight to notice it, seeing as it was many centimetres out of the illumination of Ruby's lantern.
