War remains as a common trait amongst humanity.

 

Wether by groups of survivors, war raging slavers or massive armies the outcome is the same. While most fall to the selfish ideals of evil some try to hold true to defending the wasteland as it should whilst making a little caps on the side.

 

Our three captives find themselves tossed about into a cell, trapped for several hours after their capture by the raiders of Evergreen mill.

 

The raider chef sharpens up his blades.looking at his prizes through the bars.

"Look at the meat on all of you. Gonna eat good tonight." He mutters as his narrow pupils gaze about like a rabid animal before turning his attention to the fresh carcass on the counter.

"Look at the meat on all of you. Gonna eat good tonight." He mutters as his narrow pupils gaze about like a rabid animal before turning his attention to the fresh carcass on the counter.

"Fucking asshole," Wes said, making sure the chief could hear her. "Fifteen God damn years looking around for something interesting to kill me, and instead I get a fucking asshole. Whatever, I've already lived past my life expectancy. Bite me."

 

She looked down at her white coat, sullied by the slimy floors and walls. The coat had been a gift, you you would call something stolen from a corpse a gift. She certainly saw it that way, a gift from the Lord.

"Well, this sucks. I am stuck here, what the fuck? Why Thelma do you want to eat me? I taste awful, like rotten turds. Look, I am being nice, now please don't eat me. It would be too disgusting for you to eat me. I would rather some fresh clean guy ate me. The thought of entering that foul thing you call a mouth makes me want to vomit." Looking around,.he sees two others.

Cole laughed at his predictment. "So you raiders finally got to me huh?" he stood up from sitting and walked to the bars. "After 10 years of killin scum like you, you finally get to me." Cole chuckled again. "Go ahead. Kill me asshole." Cole went back to sitting against the wall and resumed his thinking. You live killin scum you die by scum. He smirked "Fuckin beautiful." he whispered.

The Raider mumbled quietly to himself as jitters about chopping the limbs from the body.

"Meat meat meat good for the hearty..." He quietly sings to himself.

Out from the shadows near the doorway entrance a figure stealthly approaches. Raising his .22 Suppressed smg he keeps his aim centered on the raider. His armor a jet black reinforced leather armor.

He looks to the trio of prisoners pressing his finger to his mouth signaling them to be quiet.

 

Carefully approaching he equips his combat knife, as the raider chef turns about he is greeted by a swift death through his eye socket.

 

The Mullet haired young man sighs.

"Phew, well looks you guys are in pickle... " he says he approaches to the cell door readying a lockpick and a driver.

Wes reached through the bars and grabbed one of the raider's blades quickly. She held it up in a combative stance, trained at the door. "You can stop that right now!" She demanded. "Tell me just who the fuck you are before open that door. Do you think I'm stupid enough to think there aren't worse things than raiders?"

The mercenary backed away a bit holding up his hands in a non threatening pose.

"Woah Woah chill chill. I ain't here to pick your bones. Here to get you guys out... Unless you like having your fingers cut off. I'm Sticky, my boys are about ready to blow this place." He says.

Wes didn't lower her weapon yet. "Oh yeah? And who's calling the shots in your band, huh? The fuck would send a rescue team for a couple of wasteland assholes? My guardian angel? If someones busting us out, they either want to use us, or kill us themselves. Fuck you."

Her hostility was built up from a lifetime of being screwed in every way imaginable. She simply wasn't willing to admit that there might be good in the Wasteland.

"So you're a mercenary huh" Cole got back up and walked up to Wes. "Calm down. He said he's a mercenary. Pretty sure he's just here to release us.Just let him explain himself. Now calm down so we can get the fuck outta this cell." Cole turned his attention to the merc. "So why are you here?"

"Someone helpful, good. That girl is just crazy dude. Don't mind her. If I were you, I would hurry up though, you said your boys were about to blow this place, I don't think any of us want to be here when that happens." Looking past the stranger, he tried to see his rifle.

Returning to his picking he forces open the lock and opens the door.

"Hey hey, don't just start running off, stick with me and I'll get you out of here."

 

Wes lowered her weapon and allowed Sticky to open the door.

"The raiders took our equipment." Wes stated, "My riffle has a lot of value to me and I would like to get it back. Do you know where it is?"

She was lying. Her riffle wasn't the thing she wanted back. She could do without it, but there was something in her belongings that she absolutely needed.

"I also would like my rifle back. It's the only weapon I have honestly. If you can help me get it, I would appreciate it." Staring at the girl, he almost laughs. Thinking, 'She pulled a knife on him, and is now all but begging for his help? Something isn't right, but now is not the time to worry about it.'

"Alright get us out then. But first we need to get our weapons. Better to have 4 armed than just one." Cole walked back to cell and picked up his coon skin cap. He walked back to the mercenary and put his cap on. He pointed to the door. "Now would you kindly lead the way."

With his suppressed smg ready he heads toward the door peeking out, he looks back.

"Just stick, I'll take you guys to their store room." Sticky says.

The three follow him about down the hall, peeking in Sticky raises his SMG as one of the raiders stands about from his chair reaching for his saw off. A quick burst to the forehead takes care of raider.

This next room seems like a lounge like area, a table sits about before a simple lawn chair, with a dart board hanging about on the wall. A door to the far left leads about into another hall, Sticky approaches a second door near the right side making easy work of it's lock. A chest and lockers await inside.

 

"Get your gear and we can make quick work out of here."

"Good, my rifle, now to have some fun" Grabbing the rifle, he checks it's clip, and makes sure get grabs his reloads. "I am set, I spent all my caps a while ago, so I am broke, and anyways, all I need for now is my rifle. You two set yet? I don't like this cramped accommodation." Keeping his rifle aimed at the rooms exit, he waits.

Wes grabbed her riffle and the Stabhappy out of an unmarked box, then she grabbed something else out of the box as well. Whatever it was, it was small and she didn't want anyone else to see it. She shoved it into her coat pocket and pretended she hadn't done anything. "I'm ready!" she announced.

Cole kneeled next to the box and picked up his .357 Winchester Repeater, his Ka-Bar knife, and his .44 magnum. He flipped open the revolver's cylinder and loaded it. He aimed it at the wall and and smiled. "Still good as new. Alright I'm ready."

"Nice. Let's go." He says, he stealthily enters into the hall approaching to the end door.

The group is greeted by the sight of another armored figure, a gruff middle aged man adorned in black combat armor pins a male raider to the floor the snap of his neck signaling his demise.

"That'll teach ya." He says looking up.

"Oh look you made some friends." The man says holding up his assault rifle.

"The charges set Jericho?" Sticky asks.

"Yep, Charon is setting pretty on overwatch. He'll watch our asses." Jericho replies

"Charges. You are really gonna blow thus place up. OK, let's get the he'll out of here before were killed. Shit, and people say I am crazy because of my friend. Then again, he is usually killing bad guys, but that doesn't matter. What us the game plan dude? Run and gun? Because I don't think standing in the middle of a blast zone is smart. Although, stealth works too if you gave us some time before everything goes boom."

Wes finally remembered who Sticky was. The stupid nickname was familiar to her, but she hadn't remembered until just then. He was just a little boy when she had been forced out of little lamplight. A little boy that talked a lot. A lot. No wonder she had repressed that memory.

"So how we gettin out of here?" Cole asked. "We gonna sneak or go at 'em head on? Be better to sneak outta here. Have a better chance of living. If things get hot then we'll go at him." Cole wasn't dumb he knew that they would more likely be overrun if they went head on.

"Hey hey, relax. We got this all covered." Sticky assured to the new companions.

"Shorty got the tunnel secure. We get out the way we came in." Jericho says.

Following the armed mercenaries they are lead down into a cavern area, seemed newly excavated. This area seemed like the major lounge area. A billiard table is set at the center of the cavern with flood lights centered about illuminating . Tables chairs and stools lay strewn about with the occasional mattress.

The bodies of the occupied raiders lay littered about.

"Didn't even hear us coming.." Sticky whispers smirking in pride.

They follow up to another shaft entrance toward a large pipe entrance, a third man awaits sitting about on a stool, his height roughly the shortest of the bunch.

His armor is black painted reinforced metal armor held in his arms a light machine gun, strapped about in his custom holster sits a .22 suppressed pistol.

"Hey there, that was rather quick." He says giving a soft smile.

"Nice crew, nice job. Clean and quick, I like that. Although I am still curious as to why you chose us, I assume there is something you want from us. After all,you are mercenaries, and the only people who would hire a merc for me want me dead. So, what is the deal?"

"Fuck that." Said Wes, "I don't know you, and I don't know anyone else here. It's not my fault they decided to come rescue us, and I don't owe them anything just because they decided to pull us out! I'm... I'm not getting attached to any of you. It's every man for himself in the wastes and I'm a traditionalist."
