ggg-2 3,553 November 25, 2014 Share November 25, 2014 With the other named businesses, Sweet Apple Acres and Sugar Cube Corner, it's easy to see why they're named the way they are, but what about Rarity's boutique, Carousel Boutique? it doesn't even really look like a carousel. 1 Don't be a nerd. Jeric 46,871 November 25, 2014 Share November 25, 2014 According to a a friend of mine, who's interpretation I adopted, Rarity's Boutique is her Grandmother's old home. Her glasses she wears are also her Grandmothers. Her love for fashion was born from watching her Grandmother sew in that same home. After she passed Rarity continued to try and keep it up, found her talent, and finally took over her Grandmother's home. Ghost ... I finally got to use that in a topic.
VulpineTaco 525 November 25, 2014 Share November 25, 2014 No, it looks quite a bit like a carousel, especially the multilayered ones. The pillars are thin, the structure is round, all that's missing are the little horses to ride on! Red Cedar 1,408 November 25, 2014 Share November 25, 2014 Actually, it does have a superficial resemblance to an old-school merry-go-round. It's round, with a domed roof and pillars on the outside. Plus there is the two pony shapes on the upper roof. The interior decor also strongly resembles carnival decor on old carousels. It may just be Rarity creating a whimsical name for her business. Off topic, when I looked up pictures of Rarity's shop, I found a real-world business in Australia called Carousel Boutique. It's a recent business so I wonder if they nicked the name. Roughshod 720 November 25, 2014 Share November 25, 2014 It's likely just a play on words, a reference to traditional carousels that often had horses and unicorns children could ride. 1 The truth is always rough.
sweetolebob18 728 November 25, 2014 Share November 25, 2014 It sort of looks like the Merry Go Round (carousel) in my old Roller Coaster Tycoon game
