I'd like to think all pones have some kind of magic in them. Like it's magic that help make a pegasus fly. (Those tiny wings aint gonna make them fly realistically) and Earth ponies have a magical connection with the Earth. Unicorns just have an even better connection with magic than others cuz of their horn and stuff.

There certainly does appear to be more magic in Equestria than just unicorn/alicorn magic and the magic of friendship. Zecora revealed that she has some magical abilities in Magic Duel when she refilled her teacup after Twilight knocked it over, even though she has neither horn nor wings.

AmberDust 1,118 December 3, 2014 Author Share December 3, 2014 What I've come up with is more of a set of elements one should consider when trying to uncover canon. Need help with your OC? Andaasonsan 3,205 December 3, 2014 Share December 3, 2014 Uhm, whether something is canon or not has to do with whether it has appeared in a work considered canon. I don't think you need a whole lot else. 1 Application REJECTED!
SasQ 1,380 December 3, 2014 Share December 3, 2014 Dunno about what you've invented, @@AmberDust, since you have never told us, but since antiquity there's already a set of rules for verifying theories. it is called LOGIC. Every theory is based on a finite set of fundamental elements "from the outside world", called axioms, which you don't need to prove, because you assume they're true to begin with. Then, you make logical sentences (predicates) from these axioms, combining them together and operating on them with logical operations. The most important of which is implication, which allows you to deduce new statements from the ones you've already proven. Then, you assign logical values (true or false) to every sentence deduced from your axioms. Logical sentences can be only true or false. Every sentence is assumed to be true, unless proven otherwise. But when you use implication, from a true sentence can be deduced only another true sentence, but from something which is false, you can deduce anything: either false, or true (by coincidence). So how can you check if something you assumed to be true is really true? In logic, there's only one way to do it: you need to lead into a contradiction. Why? Because, as I've said, from truth there can only be deduced another truth. Imagine this as a huge tree of knowledge, which grows in a way so that it never crosses with itself (no contradictions). But if there's anything on that tree which is false, it branches in a wrong way, so that it can sometimes run into branches which are already there (a contradiction). So when you develop your theory and run into a contradiction, this is a clear indication that one of your assumptions were false, and you need to change them to something else and try again. Have you seen the "Phoenix Wright: Turnabout Storm"? It's a crossover of "Ace Attorney" and "MLP:FiM", in which Phoenix Wright is summoned into Equestria by Twilight Sparkle to help her defend her pony friend in a court from a charge of murdering another pony. Long story short, you can learn a lot from Phoenix about disproving false theories and detecting lies by watching how he works: He asks the witness lots of questions about the details of the crime scene or their testimony. Why? Because if the witness lied at some place, he would tend to hold up to his lie as if it were truth, and build an entire theory around this lie. But since false assumptions sooner or later lead to a contradiction, forcing the witness to build up on that false will sooner or later make him contradict himself and the lie will come out. You can apply the same technique to theories as well: Just develop it more and more, build up on its axioms and theorems, until you lead into a contradiction. Then you can be sure that this theory is false. Side note: I encourage you to apply this technique to Quantum Theory and Relativity Theory. Sunny Fox 5,961 December 3, 2014 Share December 3, 2014 2.( My personal headcannon) The reason Celestia lost to Chrysalis back during "Canterlot Wedding", is because the prior night she had too much cider to drink the night before; thus compromising her concentration during combat. She had to officiate the wedding, so it's unlikely she let herself get drunk the night before. 1 Happy minion of The Fabulous One!
