~Sugar Sprinkles~ 638 December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 I am sure a lot of us has been camping before and I am sure not only have some of us camped in the woods, but at an actual campground. So, the ones who HAVE camped at a campground, what was the worst you've been at? Why was it bad? Last summer, I went with my boyfriend and his family to this campground that was advertised to be AMAZING (Which thats how they get you...). Take for granted, it did have a BEAUTIFUL clean lake that actually looked taken care of. The campground was beautiful itself, BUT. We had rented a cabin there that, was once again, advertised to be good. It ended up being PRACTICALLY a shed, with one bed, BAD power, no porch lights, no running water, and old and dirty and filled with insects. Some of us had to sleep on the gross floor. Also, we were surrounded by a bunch of snooty, rich seasonal campers that were plain RUDE, like ALL OF THEM were rude and glared and acted like they owned that damn place. The bathrooms sucked, were dirty and the showers were weird. Instead of having a handle, it had this button you had to keep pressing to keep the water on and you could not adjust the temperature. So, what was the worst you've been to?

Odyssey 5,719 December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 I remember going to one campground. There was only one big dorm and a playground, but that's it. It's boring, there's nothing to do and the people there had the nerve to always keep an eye on me, even though I was perfectly fine. At least I met a decent friend there. I also remember going to another campground. It's not bad, but it's still pretty awkward. It looked really pretty and had a Wild Western theme to it, but the main problem is that it was a religious campground. I don't disrespect Christians, but it makes me wonder why my school, a non-religious school to be exact, would take us there. However, besides that, the only two thing I loved about that trip is watching the stars at night and meeting quite possibly the most sociable seagull on the planet. It sat on a kid's head, it didn't freak out when I took a photo of it and it followed us when we went back to the campground. It's a pretty amusing moment. Envy 6,407 December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 (edited) God, I hate camping! >.< All camp sites have been bad by my standards. Lol. We went in this one down by Oklahoma City I think it was... My family and I were the only ones that were staying there. There were flies everywhere, and also stickers. We set up a tent, but ended up not staying in it and sleeping in the van. That was a good idea because overnight a storm blew threw and literally blew the tent into a tree down by a lake. >.> I also did not really like the whole camping-on-the-beach thing we did in California. Sure, it was neat to be at a beach... But on the other hand it really wasn't, because sand is a huge mess. The only good thing I can say is that it had tons of single-use bathrooms and shower rooms. Even still, I didn't want to take a shower, and... um... Didn't some of the time we were there. >.< (I shower in specific conditions, like I very much like having a mat to stand on, instead of standing on tile, because its gross! Campsite showers do not ever meet those conditions.) But as I said, I hate ANY camping. Camping is NOT for me. I hate it, hate it, hate it!
