(Suggestion): Anti-Bullying campaign.

My opinion? Instances of cyber-bullying as well as real life bullying are often looked at as passive events. The situation is never truly taken care of because. "Sticks n stones". What needs to be realized is that words have no power until we give them power. When someone spews hate at another the other person will feel something, whether it be annoyance or pain. How we deal with it is what makes the difference. We take the power from the words. "I don't like your face. You're ugly" can simply be answered with "Thank you" and a smile. The receiver has taken the power out of the insult and rendered the spewer confused. The next slew of words will most likely make no sense leaving the victim unscathed... and possibly amused. When you see bullying happening do insert those kind words into your comments and remember not to stoop to the level of the bully. Take back the power, because no one else will.

It sounds like a great idea, i will do what i can to help. I don't think the bullies would just go away. A couple of people have said that we should look out for victims of bullying and help protect them from it so that the internet in general is a safe and friendly environment for everyone. It's the same logic for real life scenarios and an anti bullying awareness campaign would really benefit schools, even in the workplace also as some teachers don't even bother to take bullying seriously. I'm sure we as a community on MLP forums would be the best place to start something like this for the better. :)

Wow what a great idea! Bullying is too common these days and something should be done about it. As a victim of bullying myself, I don't want people to even THINK about suicide just because a person thinks it's funny to make fun of them. As a community where friendship is held highly, we as human beings must take action and show victims there is hope in a depressing world.

Because they upset people and they can ruin other peoples lives with a blink of an eye... If they knew how bad it could really be.. Then and only then they'd stop. The problem is, they don't just stop if you don't give a reaction, they continue. Maybe until suicide. When that happens, they'll regret it. I want to stop it all, so noone dies in this world for crappy reasons like self-centered bullies. It isnt fair.. I don't think so, anyway. I signed that petition, by the way.. Anyway, back onto topic, the bullies want attention, and a massive fandom like us can give them that, but not in a victim sort of way. Give it in a bad way, so that they realize how their victims felt when they got bullied. I really think that someone should do something about this, and it isnt funny or entertaining in aNY way. I was a victim once, when I was younger, and it is horrible. This guy beat me up for being a brony, physically, and mentally, so I just told someone, and they stopped. I was lucky, because not all bullies just stop like that.. I really hope this can be resolved, but I doubt it will be, considering how big the internet really is.. Comon' bronies, lets kick some cyber bully butts!

Part of me thinks people should get thicker skin (cause the real world's not that great a place)...but at the same time, the bullies need to also know that their behavior is not to be tolerated.

We may not be able to stop bullying, but we should always be there for the victims. And hope we do enough to prevent another tragedy.

Its a nice idea, but I've got to be honest I'm not entirely sure what effect (If any) it'll have.
In terms of cyberbullying pretty much nobody is going to stop because they got asked to, they just do it because its funny to them. Telling them how upsetting it is just makes them more entertained. A petition for changes to sites could be made, but I'm not sure what changes could actually effect the rate of cyberbullying to any meaningful level ( I mean, you can already report and block users on youtube. And the only way cyberbullying continues at that point is if they create new accounts, which would be fairly hard to prevent   >.<).
And in terms of non cyber-bullying I fail to see how a petition will have any effect at all. Dicks will be dicks, a brony petition /video would probably just make them laugh >.<

(Also this petition sort of reeks of the "We disagree with racism/violence/wars" petitions. Ofc you disagree with it but what the heck is a petition going to do to stop it? xD)

However much I disagree with bullying, big sites like YouTube don't have the staff resources to completely eradicate bullying. Please take into account that staff are completely outnumbered by users ;)

Here's the petition everypony : https://www.change.org/p/bullies-make-bullies-stop.

I think it will help some people, but i doubt it will make a big impact. I think this community, this brony site is the perfect response for bullying. I mean rotten people existed and will exist. We standing for each other, accepting and supporting each other as flawed as we are bring us together. Learning that we're unique, beautiful even if we defy the standard definition of "cool" or "normal".

TV/ads sure encourage bullying by setting the standards of what's normal/ what's not. Communities, cartoons, serials like MLP that bring us together and make us go past the definitions of the media, imo is the anti-bullying best tool. And we should not stop here. We can fight and be proud of who we are and motivate others by example.

Sorry for the rant everypony.. I have strong feelings about bullying, as I was bullied myself.

As good as this sounds, it won't work. Considering probably at least a third of the worlds population uses the Internet, and we are a community of under 30,000 who can't even all get along, I don't think we'd make a difference. And considering we're all bronies, and we're quite hated (for watching Tv show xD) then that will make it even harder for us.

And to be honest, it's the fuckng internet. The only thing that is gonna stop someone from doing Something is the FBI knocking on their door. If someone is gonna troll on the Internet theyre gonna troll. Focusing on bullying in the real world would be more important, but it helps when teachers do stuff about it.
