ManaMinori 4,149 December 21, 2014 Share December 21, 2014 Honestly, from a strictly storyline potential standpoint, here's how I think the deal with the whole “CMC get their cutie marks” thing should play out: 1: one member of CMC gets their cutie mark, making the other 2 jealous, and feeling ostracized, even now that they discovered their talent, and later learn from the other 2 that though jealous, they're still friends and wouldn't turn their back on the one who got a cutie mark, just because they got theirs. 2: second member gets their cutie mark, but is dissatisfied with it, later learning from friends that their talent is what they make of it, and can find enjoyment in living up to their cutie mark/ destiny, by adding elements of what they love to it (like Rarity is able to put her talent for finding gems together with her passion for fashion) and 3: last member of CMC remains forever a blank flank, and learns that that doesn't change who they are, and they still have friends who support them, but most importantly, for someponies, it could take a lifetime of searching to find out what your talent is, and where you fit in- and some don't even find it at all, in some cases. (ideally, this could be Scootaloo, having to deal with not only not being able to fly, but potentially being a blank flank for the rest of her life, and just getting short-sticked. Ideally, this could also lead to Rainbow Dash taking Scoots to meet her idol, Daring Do, and the CMC arc wraps up with Scoots deciding to go on adventures with her idol's idol, for more paths and discoveries about herself to become available to her, as she adventures and explores the world with Daring) 4: and maybe some kinda arc will be done with Babs with her management of Cutie Mark Crusader branches back in Manehattan...... So there ya' have it. Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Evilshy 5,093 December 21, 2014 Share December 21, 2014 So one of the CMCs should try to artificially get a cutie mark. Not like AB did in that one episode where she got cutie pox or whatever, but like a tattoo. But then the CMC's mind starts being effected by the false mark as she's trying to live up to it. She keeps adding on to it to more closely reflect what she actually does so it seems like a legit mark. But then she goes a bit too far and kinda crazy, and the others try to talk her out of it. It doesn't really work, and then she finally get's revenge by killing the guys who killed her brother and kidnapped her friends. Then she kills her friends and sleeps with the tattoo artists boss. Then the boss kills her because why the fuck not, none of this makes sense anyway. Holy shit, FarCry 3 is about ponies... 1 Signature now 99% less edgy! GenderIsAnIllusion 2,178 December 21, 2014 Share December 21, 2014 They get caught by a crime syndicate after becoming "CMC crime solvers" after stumbling on an illegal smuggling ring. chirox the pony 1,336 December 21, 2014 Share December 21, 2014 I like most of these ideas (except for the one about not getting a cutie mark), I'm pretty sure the thing about one of them getting a cutie mark before the others is gonna happen at some point. No matter how hard I try these ponies will simply never leave me.
Wind Chaser 4,768 December 21, 2014 Share December 21, 2014 One thing I've pressed the show in portraying was an adult blank flank. I think they should do this with the show's renewed focus on self-identity as of late. The Crusaders should meet an adult who has a blank flank. Many would think that there is something wrong with him, as in having some kind of magical affliction or disorder at first (due to the lack of adult blank flanks seen in the world), but it turns out that he is about the Mane 6's age, yet has genuinely not had the same success they had nor has he yet "found himself". He would serve as a mentor character to the CMC for the episode he would be in and tell them how wonderful it is to still be searching for their purpose, and would tell Apple Bloom and the others to stop trying to grow up too fast, because everypony who's older probably wishes they were younger anyway. I specify that the character should be male to build on the show's relative lack of strong and unique male characters playing prominent roles in episodes. I also had an idea for the Crusaders to do an episode on the gender divide when a male (possibly Pipsqueak but the fanboy in me wants it to be Shady Daze ) attempts to join their club, but I have no idea how well that will go over in the show.
sweetolebob18 728 December 22, 2014 Share December 22, 2014 (edited) In season 1 the CMCs are probably 8-12 years old. Season 5 they are at least 2 years older. This means they are getting to prime baby sitting age. They are all "Oh, I'm a big pony now, stop treating me like a baby." It can be super tough to get a baby sitter, especially on short notice. I could see the Cakes having to trust them for an afternoon emergency job. (Hey, they trusted Pinkie, for crying out loud). They've got a Pegasus & a Unicorn, so they would have some idea of the babies abilities. They would learn that maybe being grown up is harder than it looks & maybe why they freak out the adults.
