movies/tv Instead of a Silmarillion adaptation, why not have a new Middle Earth series?

Ok, since the Hobbit trilogy is now done, the question lies: What's next regarding movies in Middle Earth. It's pretty much safe to say that an adaptation for The Silmarillion won't happen, since the Tolkiens own the rights to it. However, I have had an idea on what could possibly be done. The LOTR trilogy's time period is known as the "Third age", while the "Fourth Age is basically life after the LOTR trilogy, and by the end of that, practically all the characters in the trilogy have died.

The series idea by me would be called "The Fifth Age", it would be when a new evil has awoken in Middle Earth, more devastating that Sauron. A new band of heroes would have to put a stop to this new threat. Not only would be see new Middle Earth locations, but we would see lots of different new characters, as well as new races and creatures. Unlike LOTR and The Hobbit, this new series wouldn't be just a trilogy, but instead be a five parter. Each film would be over 3 and a half hours in length, creating a very epic scope within this series.

But Tolkien's dead, there's no more books.
