"Suicide? How the hell do you do that to yourself? One seen some messed up stuff, but that is beyond anything else I've seen it heard of." He says, shaking his head. "Granted, I can't figure out any other alternative to How that happened, but still, it is incredibly difficult in my opinion."

So, people have mistaken me for a nice guy. I'm not. Don't like it? Tough. Your loss.

Sinu ponders the observation for a few seconds, and says; "Given what we see here, I think that thaumaturgy is implied, but I'm pretty sure that the word is supposed to be used in a more positive manner; it translates to 'wonderworking', which this probably isn't." He begins to think of a way that it would be possible to track the aforementioned warlock, without getting any ideas.

Blackstone and Carin' look at each other, sharing an amused look.  "Oh, no," says Blackstone.  "No, we know it's not a suicide.  But just imagine if Carin' here reported to her superiors and the press that the cause of death was a pony hundreds of yards away or more using magic to do this.  Yeah, no, she'd be fired as soon as the words left her lips.  Probably locked up somewhere, too.  We gotta give them what they want to hear, you know?  So even though it makes no sense to us that it could be a suicide, no doubt they will come up with some sort of ridiculous theory all on their own."

Since they obviously weren't done, they continued.  "Who says wonders have to be good?  If you think about it from the perspective of somepony who doesn't believe in magic, don't you think it's a feat or wonder that anypony would be able to do this from so far away?"  He shrugs.  "Regardless of that, it was certainly thaumaturgy, unless Carin' has found evidence of somepony besides these two in here.  And, in case you were wondering, which you probably were, thaumaturgy is the use of magic through an object that has a direct connection to another object or person.  Like if you used a doll with somepony's likeness and a bit of them pinned to it to cast magic on them, or you used a strand of somepony's mane to determine their exact location."  He tapped his mane.  "That's why I keep my combs and brushes clean, folks."

"So obviously the killer had some of their DNA.  That's all we can determine from this evidence.  Carin', anything else?"

She looked at some papers.  "One was employed by The Gentlecolt, as far as we can tell, and the other was employed at the Velvet Room."

"Ah."  Blackstone looked grim.  "Wonderful.  I suppose I'll have to go talk to both of those groups if I'm going to solve this case, too.  Oh boy, this day just keeps getting better and better.  Not only do I get Red Court twice in one day, but there's a Warlock on the loose, and White is involved..."  He sighed.

“What surprises me most?  Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.  Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.  And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

"What? What's happening?" Starchase felt frustrated, it was like they were going in circles. They were never going to get home. Adventure is nice and all but this felt like a nightmare. Dead bodies are no fun. "Where are we going next?" He gave in with a light sigh.

  • 2 weeks later...

...And then Nightlight Sparkle keeled over and died due to exposure to dead ponies (severe anxiety attacks and such), and thus the prophecy which had magically appeared at the beginning of this adventure has been nullified and is void. Ponyville continues to fall to ruin...

GAME OVER
