xlwpos 12 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I am thinking that the swath of land occupying parts of Iraq and Syria needs some equine love. I think they have internet access in those regions so why not MLP online for those living in Mosu, Raqqa, etc. ? I would imagine some MLP merchandise was sold in Iraq at least prior to 2003? Can the ponies of Equestria knock a dent in the hearts of hardened jihadi fighters?
catnet 9,359 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 No. I wish I could say the opposite, but if they're prepared to end their lives for their cause, I don't think any number of pastel ponies is gonna get through to them (though there will probably be a small number of exceptions...). I think the majority would act like a hater would- hate it on sight, won't give it a chance.
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,933 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Simple answer, no. FiM would have no affect on anything over there, ever. That is giving the show too much credit. It is a wonderful show with wonderful values, but it cannot do miracles like that.
Derplight Sperkle 1,013 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I don't think they would watch a second of it, since it could be seen as American propaganda and banned on sight of the fact it's american. Though that even if they have watched the show, it may not really change their mind. 2 Signature by me Equestrian Empire Cast Characters: Daring Do, Twilight Sparkle My awesome OC
Jeric 46,867 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 @xlwpos The subject of this topic has little potential to spark civil discussion between many members and, as such, would be better suited to a blog.
