The siege barge took tremendous damage and was rendered unuseable

 

once the airships were all over the water, about 40 air unit pegasi began flying fast out of the city in the opposite direction 

 

The pegasi still on the Pierce walked approached the entrance to below deck, one pony swung open the door and 5 archers shot into the hallway then got out of the door way to reload

 

An earthpony was tending his field when he saw the soldiers, he  put down his tool and looked up "Yall know bare-backs aint allowed to bear weapons right? put those away and get off my farm!" he then noticed that they didnt look like farmers, and they wore strange clothes, he quickly picked his scythe back up and faced them "who are you?!?"

With the piercer ot of the harbour, the crew charged out from bellow the deck, two 80- guns stopped by the ship, sending their crews on as well, this resulted in about 1000 Ponssian personnel charging at firing at the pegasi. 

 

While the Piercer was in trouble, command went to captain Bolt of the SMS Defiance, another 106-gun. He took out a megaphone and yelled towards the city.

"Citizens of... this city.... We give you 3 hours to evacuate the city, under the laws of war. After these hours have past, you will be regarded as soldiers and will be fired upon!"

When the farmer picked up his scythe in a menassing position, the soldiers immidiately kneeled and took aim.

"At ease!" a voice instructed and the soldiers lowred their rifles.

The Lieutenant (who was on a horse) came out from behind the carriage and raised his hoof, stopping the cart.

"Lieutenant of the 123rd regiment of the Ponssian expeditionary force. We see that you are having difficulties tending your crops. We offer you food and water."

The cart was unloaded revealing top-quality troop rations and cold water.

"We also wish to offer you aid, these 2 here have experience in growing crops more.... efficiently... and are willing to share their knowladge."

The pegasi on board the Piercer put up a good fight against the other crew even though they were out numbered 3-10

 

Suddenly the 40 pegasi came flying in at amazing speed right in the middle of the airship formation and caused a massive sonic rainboom in the middle of the formation severly damaging them and even rocking the water based ships below, the 40 pegasi continue flying way past the blockade

 

The farmer looked at the horse with a confused look, not knowing what he was looking at "Why should i trust you, your clearly invaders, i may be a bare back, but im not stupid!" then the boom from the sonic rainboom was faintly heard, a few seconds later another earth pony exited the house, a female

 

"Grainy! did you hear that?" she then saw the soldiers and gasped, "N-no you cant take our other child away!"

 

the farmer replied "Hun, get back in the house, these arent normal soldiers, thems invaders..."

The airships lowered themselves in the water (they are half boats) now acting as normal boats in order to make repairs. 

 

With the Piercer back in Ponssian hands the line of ships was strenthened, chains tied the ships together and all cannons were loaded. Shocked by the speed of the flyers, deck cannons were armed with nets in order to try and capture them if they returned. The captain of the piercer took out his pocket watch and looked at the city.

"Oh, please leave the city... we dont want unecessary deaths..." he told himself

"If we are invaders we need the people on the land we take to be well-tended... bareback, excuse me sir but we arent familiar with this term."

 

After hearing the mares words he asked, a little bit outraged,

 

"Wait your goverment is taking children? No goverment has the power to suspass basic Equine rights."

 

He dismounted his horse and turned to the farmer.

 

"Because, if we were here to hurt you, we would've already have? no?"

 

He waved his hoof and the soldiers dropped their rifles.

"Our queen  is a bit our of touch with reality, all the bare backs got together and protested for better treatment, so her solution was to "show off the beauty of the bare-back" so she rounded up all the most attractive bare back mares, and placed them in the major cities as living statues, our daughter was one of them, we havent protested because we take what we can get...and...your unfamiliar with..bare-back? but...your a bare-back, im a bare back, we are all bare backs out here..." he seemed confused

 

 

with the air ships now in the water, the triremes began attacking them with their own ballistas

As soon as the triremes were in range, the navy and the airships now did what they were meant to do. All cannons fired reppeatedly in the fraagile wooden triremes. The aiships deflated their ballons in order to minimize the risk of them being damaged and continued as normal ships. The little trireme had almost no chance against the constant barrage of shells incoming from more than 400 rifled cannons.

"Its both good and bad, I hate the fact that my daughter has been reduced to little more than eye candy for the ponies in the palace, and it reduces how many ponies we can have working on the farm but...she is paid for it, and when she returns once a month with a nice sack of coins and stories of the palace, it leave me and my wife conflicted"

A massive evacuation was then organized by the rest of the air units, and the palace was evacuated of all valuable goods, Queen Salazaria stayed behind to make sure everything went well as her servants, guards and the living statues were escorted out

The Diplomats still in the city rushed towards the harbor, quickly climbing aboard their ship. They raised a white flag, in hopes of showing those involved in the conflict that they were not involved. They remained off deck, locked inside the ship's cabin.

The cannons were now aimed at the city, the captains eyes concentrated on the watch.

"Citizens, you have 1 more hour till our boimbardment starts, if u wish to save your homes, surender the city. No harm shall be done to any citizen that is willing to remain neutral in this conflict. You will be treated with respect. This is your final chance!"

A soldier approached.

"Permission to speak sir?"

"Granted"

the soldier was carrying a bag of ...stuff

"About needing more people to work a farm, may i suggest you try this chemical, it would speed up natural crop growth by at least 10 times"

The lieutenant continued.

 "I can tell you for a fact that farmers are not supposed to "sell" their daughter in exchange for money. These crops alsone should allow you to have a small mansion for yourself."

"Sir there is a ship carrying a white flag in port."

A officer informed the cap.

"Send an unarmed sloop to tug them out of the way, they might be caught in the bombardment!"

 

A small sloop, itself flying a white flag was sent to tug the diplomats out of harms way".

A smaller pegasi, looking to be in his mid to late teens, dressed up in what appeared to be an eleaborate white bird costume started flying towards the ships, he was clearly unarmed, he was struggling with flight a little as the wing extensions of the costume were a little bulky

 

"Maybe" the farmer said "but as you can plainly see, i am a bare back, i was destined to live here on the farm and be a farmer, i wasnt born with wings to be free to choose my path, and I wasnt born with a horn on my head to be some ponies servant, I got off lucky, i could of been a pack animal for the army, but i worked hard  to keep this farm going and to provide for my family"

Marines took aim at the incoming pegasus.

"Flyer approaching sir!"

"He is unarmed, at ease."

The marines lowered their rifles and awaited the pegasi's arrival.

"That hardly seems fair. If we, by Gods will, win this war, we guarantee that every earth pony and unicorn shall have equal rights." The lietenant was disgusted by what he heard, "A pony hould not be born with a future, he shouyld make his own path!"

The pegasus lands on the Piecer, being careful not to step in any of the blood, he looks horified at the buchered bodies of the ponnsian and cidonian soldiers, he gulps then looks up at the person in charge "I-um" he clears his throat "I am a messenger on behalf of the glorious queen! She wishes to negotiate with the one in charge of this operation!" he flares his wings, letting the full elegance of his costume show

 

"Why are we at war? the whole kingdom was jumping around singing the praises of going out and exploring the world and making new friends, did the queen anger some pony by being her weird out of touch self?" the farmer asked

"Negotiate... very well, in rowboats, equal distance between our lines and the coast. Each of us with 4 guards. In 45minutes... if not we will continue on our track."

He turns to his second-in-command and whispers

"If anything happens to me, you blast them out of existance."

"I for one am not in position to be informed of these motives, but i know the rumors. After what i understand, his majesty desires a port in the southern sea. He was also outraged at the way this society is built, as am I. Lastly, we are here to bring civilization, prosperity, modernisation and salvation throught he word of God." the lietenant answered, "Also, the ponies we sent with the diplomats she sent never returned. We never got any message about their happenings. This tells us that hostile relations were clearly involved."

 

He quickly scribbled a letter and sent it off with a messenger pigeon.

The messenger flew off, and a few minutes later, the queen was informed and Salazaria got in a royal skiff, (a normal skiff, but adorned in gold and jewels and has a throne in the middle), she was adorned with her royal head dress, and her standard eyepatch was replaced with a gold plated eyepatch, with the eye symbol being made out of sapphires, it was rowed by two unicorn servants and 4 pegasi armed with cross bows followed the skiff

 

the farmer replied "I think our kingdom is fine as far as civilization and prosperity goes, and i dont know if violence is the way for bare backs to get our equal rights...i mean weve been working hard to get respected, we even got a bare back to live in a city, but progress takes time and if we start violently protesting, then we just play right into the stereotype that they have of us"

The captain got in a roaboat. 2 marines were rowing while 2 were standing guard. On the way, the admiral sighted the pigeon, he read the letter attached to its leg.

"Oh.... this is going to modify he peace terms a little..."

As the two boats met, the captain proceeded with the manners that royalty should be treated with. He took of his hat, reavealing his horn and bowed,\

"Your majesty, i understand you wish to negotiate?"

"This... this is not civilization... this is wilderness. Can i see railways... no... factories?... no... proper tarmac roads? no... Why suffer to slowly get rights against a regime that was never supposed to exist in the first place. We are all Gods creation and all made equal, no race is suppose to rule over another."

The queen looked down at him with her eye "Yes, but first off, I want to know the reason behind this unprovoked attack! I was entertaining guests from another nation then I get a letter that your attacking and the next thing i know a burning ship is falling out of the sky! And do you know how annoying it is to organize a huge evacuation? I had plans for today!" she seemed a little irritated

 

"To be fair" the farmer replyied "our kingdom has been a little isolated for a long time, I didnt even know other kingdoms existed until the treasure fleet came back with reports of a faraway land"

"We have been ordered to attack mainly due to the disappearence of 30 of our citizens while escorting diplomats. The wreckage has been spotted on your land yet no effort was made to inform us of their fate. As far as we can see your nation is pretty backwards, a lot of land being unused: we aim to expand our influence and bring civilization to this place. Most importantly we are outraged by the treatment of earth ponies and aim to aid their struggle."

The Queen thought for a second "OH! I know what your talking about! ahh yes, my diplomats informed me of this, they were sailing then a huge ship of metal stole their treasure trireme, were then forced to stay longer than they wanted to, then some civilians escorted them back and vanished during a storm, instead of letting our men do their jobs and keep the storm off the boat, they were sent down below and the boat crashed with no sign of the crew, quite honestly we didnt send a note because we didnt know where to send it to, since the sailors were taken off their ship they were unable to chart your lands. now i bet you guys just feel silly now, starting a war over a misunderstanding, and heres my offer, i will forget the thing ever happened and your little backwards comment, if you apologize for the misunderstanding and go back, heck ill let you keep the trireme, I can just commission another one, deal?"

 

"So weve been told, theres been a huge push for exploration and such" the farmer replied, he put his scythe down as there seemed to be no threat

"Nomatter the reason the other reasons still stand. My orders are to obtain my King's wishes under any cost. And just as an information, your metal rowboat was repaired as it had severe hull damage, we were supposed to send it back when our delegates arrived. And forgive me your majesty, but by looking at numbers and at weaponry, you are in no position to dictate any terms, a simple movement of my left hoof and that city behind you will be turned into a pile of rubble in a matter of seconds. We havent really put much effort into this campaign as we wished for a quick surrender due to sheer presence, but it seems no arrangement can be made..."

He looked at the gold watch

"10 minutes..."

Our armies always claiming victory and securing areas, briniging them under our protection. hat is what i understand was planned here as well, no fighting was supposed to take place. We expected you to surrender due to our superior weaponry and allow us to peacfully do our job. We would'v probably taken a port and in exchange offered protectioon and technology. You dont know how much is out there..." he pat his horse, "just waiting to be discovered."

Salazaria huffed and rolled her eye "ok lets be fair, what are your terms? I dont want to see my beautiful palace destroyed, especially for no reason...so go ahead spit them out, what do you want and lets see if we can work something out"

 

The farmer thought about what he said "you clearly havent been here before, we fight for what we have, if you came here with massive weapons its no wonder our forces stepped up to the challenge"

The captain pulled out a scroll

 

"His selene majesty offers the following treaty in order to ensure peace and prosperity:

 

1. The concesion of port [...] (ya know the pic)

2. The right to trade unconditionally ( so.. we have a bigger say in trade)

3. The guarantee to not forge alliances with our enemies

4. The access of millitary and naval forces in the area

5. The access of Ponssian citizens on Cidonian soil

6. The soldiers currently on your soil are going to be allowed to set up a fort to ensure the well-being of certain ponies

7. The settlement of 'advisors' in your court that will allow for better realations between each others nations

8. The...ahem.. living statues... may leave for their families at will

 

In exchange, his majesty offers 40, 000 tonnes of gold and protection from any hostilities towards Cidonia. Cidonian citizens will have free pass through Ponssian land and you will be aided with modern technology to improve your economy and infrastructure.

"Well, what we sent was absolutely nothing, our army number 1, 000, 000 in total with a navey of over 100 ships. If the king wished to do so, we wouldve captured this place in hours. Will you accept this chemical as a sign of goodwill?" he pointed to the fertilizer bag.

"If you want the port of Clexto, fine.  Trade is fine, I dont know your enemies, but I want to at least visit them, Im doing the whole explore the world thing. You kinda destroyed most of my navy, but sure. Citizen access is fine. Um certain ponies? explain. You may have one adviser. Fine....they can leave...I try to give them a chance and show off the beauty of their race and I guess thats bad..but there, ive agreed to your terms." looks clearly irritated 

 

The farmer nodded and took the bag

As we are now on more... ahem.... friendly... terms, we shall repair any damage done to civilian infrastructure on our own expenses. We shall also advise the creation of a more... efficient fleet. We ask them to be allowed to help earth ponies struggling on farms. I guarantee that this is going to profit you as much as it is profitable to us." he took out a flare and fired in the air, it was bright blue. Cheers could be hreard from the decks of the ships in the distance.

The lieutenant saluted and made a sign for the soldiers to retreat back to camp.

So when is the signing anyway, I still have things I want to do today, and no more comments about my kingdom being uncivilized and the such, I find it rather disrespectful"

The advisor will be of your choosing, of course. We yet want to be realistic as your nation lacks basic modern technology, which we are very happy to share."
