Just a masterthread for DayZ SA. Personally I can't get enough of the game, it's just too amazing! Do any of you guys have it and if you do what are you favorite things / dislikes and hopes about the future of this game now that Dean Hall (   ) has gone?

The devs are awful, there are so many bugs that they need to fix, such as the collision detection with the zombies (as well as how long they chase you), the bull shitty small height that causes you to break your legs, and the sinking houses that make it difficult to get inside. But NOPE! They decide to pander to the little shits that want cars, more guns, more hats! Thus resulting in more bugs to fix.

 

Seriously devs, fix the most game breaking bugs before you add more bugs.

The problem is is that the game has been out for 2 years now and it's still not even halfway alpha. They're just adding unnecessary items while the loot system and item drop system doesn't work at all. Zombies STILL run through walls and chase you into the next life, random NPC missing models STILL spawn, and walking in these big flats up and down the stairs is STILL a huge nightmare. Instead of fixing the bugs and tweaking the mechanics into what it should be, they're just adding stupid stuff that they should do later on.

 

The game was estimated to be released in 2014, but I don't think it will even be released in 2015. It will take at least another 2 years looking at how the progress is going since frickin' 2013 to even reach end-beta stage.

Yes it's okay for an alpha (seriously, there have been far better Alphas been released.) But they should fix these bugs before continuing development, since it should make it easier to add more content and have less hassle for the devs (seriously, do you ever feel that it would be great to do a shit ton of horrible work at one time?)

Then what are they waiting for? It doesn't change the fact they've been in alpha for such a long time and haven't even reached halfway of it :/

Anyway, Alpha or not, the game is hopeless. I don't think it's scum of the gaming world, but personally- I hate the majority of the community. I hate the way the game was coded by jamming together ArmA 2 and ArmA 3 coding, thus making it have some of the most permanently unstable gameplay in all of gaming. 

 

I have had a decent bit of fun with it, but it's pretty much a 3/10 game for me, and will remain so unless the devs do something worthwhile with it. I've played it since release, and not once have I been of the opinion that it was worth my $30.

Realisticly it's far better for a game to take longer to release than end up being a piece of turd like War Z, You have to also consider that the company, when they started day Z mod for arma 2 were just a bunch of guys whos mod exploded in popularity. 

 

I am not defending the game or the developers, but actually, from their perspective it's smart to release the game in bits and bobs so it keeps players interested, if the game had been fully released instantly people would get bored, also it constantly lists its an alpha and prone to bugging, so I dont see how people can moan really, yes it sucks when i break my legs from a glitchy zombie and die, but i still enjoy the game, actually probably because im one of the 'bad community' for taking pleasure in killing
