For what it's worth, a new wave of merchandise is on the way, handled by a different company and that actually looks like the characters from t heir source material.

I was surprised at how much better Midnight sparkle looked than her toy version.

Her toy version is just slathered in stars and whatnot and looks pretty bad. The movie version's wings on the other hand looked nice and not so garrish.
