That was an odd choice. But I guess folks wouldn't know who that guy from 3 count or Bullet Bob's kid are at this point. "Backstage official" is just code for security at this point. Mixing it up with the fragile commentators putting their necks out as a break from the usual pull aparts would make it seem more real. As behind the scenes, Cole does have some sway. Seth would get held back by creative team member Micheal Cole, not announcer Micheal Cole.

I didn't know who Tony Garea was as a kid but I saw him in those sorts of segments sometimes.

Yeah, his final match is in March and WrestleMania is April, I think he will make an appearance, not to wrestle but maybe in some sort of segment.
