Any Pro-Wrestling Fans Around?

What about those awful matches that WWE buried them in, WrestleMania 31 and Night Of Champions were two of the worst matches ever.

And SummerSlam 2003 was where Goldberg was buried so much, Triple H has to beat all WCW guys. (I HATE TRIPLE H!!!!!!!)

Winning the world title the next month is not burial. Still making appearances on Raw is not burial. Appearing on the wrestlemania main show in front of 70,000 people is not burial. Main evening a PPV is not burial.

And how many times do I have to tell you this? Sting was booked to win the WWE title at NOC. But he nearly broke his neck in that match. Of course he had to loose so suddenly with an injury that bad. Use some common sense for pete's sake.

HVW's 2nd Anniversary show is in 16 days, can't freaking wait.

New Women's Champion will be crowned.

And JBL is the worst commentator ever, alongside Michael Cole.

They spat on WCW.

And I even hated JBL in the APA, so overrated.

(edited)

Watching this, I relaized something.

We do not give WWE editors nearly enough credit for the job they do in making WWE look spectacular.

And we don't have nearly enough pity for the writing staff, who have to produce 5-8 hours of content every week with such confined & rigid parameters.  Not even the Simpsons had to produce that much writing.

So perhaps here's the real reason WWE is loosing fans.

Am I the only one who loves the original ECW and not WWE's pathetic and boring version of ECW?

I bought my copy yesterday on Amazon for only 24 Euros. If everything goes as planned i will receive it this Weekend.

It has data from Pro Wrestlers, Titles and matches from the 60s till today. Everything from WWE, WCW, ECW and the old NWA Territories. If you are a fan of Pro Wrestling, you really need to get this.

I really can't wait for my copy. :D

I'm hoping that Syd Parker and Benny Factor return at the next HVW show.

My favourite tag team.

So, what do you think WWE's three biggest problems are? Not specific wrestlers or story lines. Those are just symptoms. What are the biggest issues that keep WWE form being enjoyable, as well as be the cause of driving fans away in droves.

I've narrowed it down to:

  • 50/50 booking- 2 guys fight. 1 guy wins. Next week, he looses and the other guy wins. Usually done to keep a feud going, but this just makes both guys look weak and makes the mid card look static, leaving no one to advance as the break through star.
  • Too much programming- 3 hour Raw. 2 hour Smackdown. 1 hour Superstars. 1 hour Main Event. 1 hour NXT. 3 hour PPVs every few weeks. And on big 4 weekends there's NXT: Takeover, and a 6 hour PPV w/ the pre show. 8 hours of TV each week. 11 on a PPV week. And 16 hours of programming on a big 4 week. 14 of those hours on consecutive nights.  Not only does that lead to burn out, but it causes the shows to be bloated, padded out slogs to watch through. I knwo I can't sit though Raw anymore. The best wrestling shows on TV right now (ROH/Lucha Underground) are an hour long. The only way you can get away with 3-4 hour shows is if the shows themselves are held only twice or so a month, with nothing else going on, which is how NJPW is still successful. Which leads me to the next issue.
  • Formulaic, overproduced writing- That much content need a lot of writing. And I mean a lot. It's ridiculous. The biggest shows on Tv right now, don't need that much writing. They get to take breaks for a few months, or at least a few weeks. WWE writers have to produce content for 14 hours of programming. That's a seasons worth of wring. Something done over months. Has to be done in a week. Often with last minute changes. That much writing, it's bound to run out of good ideas and loose steam. And the formulaic structure leads to no it all sounding fake. The audience can tell when a script is being recited. A wrestlers tone, the words chosen, the cadence, all feel forced and impersonal. All the good guys and all the bad guys act the same cause they;'re written by the same staff.

So what do you think? What are WWE's biggest problems?

So what do you think? What are WWE's biggest problems?

In my opinion these are WWE's biggest problems,

I feel that the WWE wrestlers & matches feel too similar to each other & that makes me not care enough to bother watching the shows.

I don't care about any of the "new" WWE wrestlers except AJ Styles.

WWE storylines make no sense.

Oh, and I was going to say this in response to your previous post,

WWE's Video Editing Team make WWE's writers seem competent at their jobs.

I imagine WWE's writing staff are competent, but how effective a writer would you be if you had to write an entire seasons worth of TV in the span of a week, every week, for years and years on end, with such rigid constraints & frequent last minute edits?

Cool.

I really can't seem to think of any worst matches besides Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg at WrestleMania 20 and that's mainly because of the crowd.

I don't really have a favorite crowd.

However, I DON'T LIKE any obnoxious crowd that act like those NXT crowds.

I loved that crowd from ECW One Night Stand in 2006.

OMG, it was so freaking awesome.

It's just, I feel like those types of crowds try to make themselves popular instead of the wrestlers they're supposed to be watching.
