How do you define Harmony?

 

In Season V, we will see an entire village of Ponies all with the same cutie marks. On the surface they appear to be content, and getting along perfectly. We will find out later, that peace is maintained by making everypony equal without individuality. (much like the Borg Collective of STNG)

 

Peace cannot be forced upon us, it has to be desired for it to have any value.

 

But I digress...

Harmony.  What is it? 

The term harmony derives from the Greek ἁρμονία (harmonía), meaning "joint, agreement, concord",^[4] from the verb ἁρμόζω (harmozo), "to fit together, to join".

 

To me, it means to be loved,accepted and cherished as a part of a active social group.

Does this mean, that by being here(mlpf), I have found harmony? No. Not exactly. I still need the Human factor, real life interaction.

Harmony is a state of being. It's a state of stability, such that if a system is in harmony it can support itself. You could say that the Earth, Moon, and Sun are all in harmony, as their orbits can continue indefinitely (at least relative to our perception of time).

 

Harmony in a social context works in a similar way. I can't think of any real-life examples, but it's when all the subjects in a system are able to work together and produce a stable society. This could range from the small scale, with a group of friends supporting each other, to a larger scale, such as between nations.
