PonyFunk 155 March 15, 2015 Share March 15, 2015 If you could enter Equestria in a vrmmorpg (virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game) would you ever want to return to the real world?

Obstinance 21 March 15, 2015 Share March 15, 2015 (edited) If it's anything like the Oculus Rift, I would get motion sick pretty quick, so it's safe to say I wouldn't play long. Plus, a virtual reality Equestria would just cause me to feel melancholy due to the inability to ever actually go to Equestria. It's a fair question though, and I'm interested to see other people's thoughts on the matter. Edited March 15, 2015 by Obstinance

Confucius 194 March 15, 2015 Share March 15, 2015 Compared to earth, Equestria is paradise. I would rather die than go back. I would still wish to communicate with friends but would want to live in a better place.
FancyHorse 1,209 March 15, 2015 Share March 15, 2015 I was actually talking about the possibility with a few friends of mine. Exploring a virtual reality Equestria would be freaking amazing. ^^ Do stick around Darling, I could use the company~
Denim&Venöm 18,727 March 15, 2015 Share March 15, 2015 I'd have to. Job to pay for my MMO. Good food to eat. Plenty of sleep to get. And concerts to go to. Sorry, not even ponies can replace mosh pits. Although this sounds similar to a subset of MLP fics called the optimal-verse. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/62074/friendship-is-optimal
Eventine 7 March 15, 2015 Share March 15, 2015 If it was just a standard MMO, then I'd play it, but I'm sure that I'd get bored after a while. I'd love to see an MLP themed MMO, and exploring Equestria in first person would be an interesting experience, but it would ultimately just be another game... You Heard Nothing 1,213 March 18, 2015 Share March 18, 2015 If you could enter Equestria in a vrmmorpg (virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game) would you ever want to return to the real world? well, if it was full-dive technology as in Sword Art Online, then yes. nothing can replace the real world, imho. i would spend a vast majority of my time ingame, though. This is my signature. Because everyone needs a signature. Right? Special thanks to Blue Moon for the signature pic.
Dust and Memories 557 March 18, 2015 Share March 18, 2015 You, miss/sir, are brilliant. Now get Blizzard (makers of World of Warcraft), Hasbro (kind of a duh) and Facebook(owners of the Oculus Rift) and tell them to make this. Millions. You'll earn millions. I'd certainly play it. Hocus Pocus 636 March 23, 2015 Share March 23, 2015 OF COURSE I'D WANT TO GO BACK! It'd be incredibly shallow of me to just disappear and never return. The thought of throwing out all my friendships for anything absolutely sickens me! I'd like to remind everypony of how Rainbow Dash was tested by the Shadowbolts in the first episode, friendship isn't just something you can toss aside as soon as something new comes around... I mean... that's just.... despicable! ~Hocus Pocus Ya weni mareh mirekyarahireJuri yu mirekerason Kire hyari yoriherahe nyuraheraNunnyura unera yurawera nihmerani
Ashen Pathfinder 16,161 March 23, 2015 Share March 23, 2015 Considering it is a video game I wouldn't want to be staying. Gaming, as a medium, has severe limitations. Games like Skyrim, even though they can totally engross you in the world and the people, suffer certain limitations. I can only spend so much time in places like Tamriel, Thedas, or Gransys before I have to return to the real world. In the end I do not see virtual reality being any different at this point. EchoPone 6 March 23, 2015 Share March 23, 2015 Well, think about it. It is just a video game, of course. No matter how realistic it seems there will always be that thought of knowing you're not really in Equstria. Even with that said, It would still be a awesome idea! Would I want to return, Yes. Like I said, it's still a video game. You can't just continue playing it, and not worry about your real life. In order to even make it worth playing, we would need to improve a lot in technology to make it seem like a real reality, outside of ours. Still, a very good idea. Mesme Rize 15,683 March 23, 2015 Share March 23, 2015 I don't know. If i see Twilight like this saying: "Hello, i am Twilight Sparkle. You will go where i go, befriend who i befriend and study what i study. *wink*" Maybe then i would stay there. 1 My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar.
