Caramel said as she walked towards the hallway. She passed Willem on her way up. "Goodmorning." Caramel said to wilhelm.

"I know, he told me!" Tyra squeed, obviously happy for them, "You must spend some time together soon, yes?"

She nodded and trotted over to the huge piece of wood, hoisting it onto her back and following Caramel outside.

She spotted Wilhelm in her passing, and grinned to him. "Hello, friend! How are you faring?"

Wilhelm nodded to the both of them. To Caramel, he replied with a smiled "Mornin'", and to Tyra, he simply said "Fine" and went back to hammering the higher railings into place, whistling a concert tune as he worked and conducting the invisible orchestra with his left hoof.

Caramel walked to the broken mast, putting down the sail that was laying on her back. "Aye we will, don't worry.'' Caramel replied to Tyra. "I'm looking forward to it." Caramel looked at Wilhelm and what he was doing. "What in Equestria do ye think yer doing to me ship?" Caramel said confused.

Caramel walked to the broken mast, putting down the sail that was laying on her back. "Aye we will, don't worry.'' Caramel replied to Tyra. "I'm looking forward to it." Caramel looked at Wilhelm and what he was doing. "What in Equestria do ye think yer doing to me ship?" Caramel said confused.

Wilhelm put down his hammer and turned to Caramel. "So, you know how everypony keeps washing overboard? That's what I'm trying to prevent with these higher railings. This way, if we encounter any storms, we won't have another problem like when half our crew got thrown overboard in a flaming sail."

"Aye, he is a good stallion," Tyra agreed, nodding with a grin, while she observed Wilhelm working, as well as performing a strange hoof gesture.

 

She listened to his reasoning for adjusting the rails, and nodded.

"I see! That is a good idea!" She grinned, "We should have much less trouble now!"

Spellbind listened to Wilhelm and nodded. She grimaced with dread when he mentioned how they had come into a storm and the sails had set on fire... it could have proven to be fatal...

 

She looked at Pucksterv. "Good luck to you and Rave," she said with a smile.

"I don't think that is such a good idea mate" Caramel said to Wilhelm. "If somepony does still fall overboard, it's hard to get them over the railing. Plus if the railing is higher, the water will stay on deck, it won't go away. I don't think this is such a good idea." Caramel said while she unfold the sail, ready to fix it.

Tyra carefully lowered the wood onto the deck, watching dutifully as Caramel unfolded the sail.

She stood to attention beside the captain. "What shall you have me do next? I am ready for anything!"

 

She looked to the broken down mast. "I could try lifting the old mast up?"

Spellbind looked around the ship area but she didn't find the mast that Tyra had been referring to. "I can use my levitation magic to help you with that," she offered. "It wouldn't be much, since I'm not really very strong, but if you can get help, why not take it."

"The old mast? That's laying in the sea, 300 miles that way. What we need to do is to is build a new one with the wood we got. It's not going to be very steady but it's all we have for now. Lets get to work" Caramel said looking at Tyra and Spellblind. "After we get the mast fixed, we can put the sail on."

Since he got on deck, Lordy had pretty much leaned on the railing with his head hanging overboard. He was really sick from all the salty water he had swallowed and his stomatch was... empting itself. After probably staying there and hour or so, his face started turning back to its normal colour. He stood up from his.... leaning position and the first thing he did was arrange his uniform.

"How may i be of service?" he asked, a slight tone of sickness could still be distinguished even though he tried to hide it.

"Aye, understood," Tyra nodded, saluting and squirming her head beneath the wooden pole to perk one side onto her back, "I am ready when you all are!"

 

She grinned to Spellbind and Caramel, awaiting her next orders with enthusiasm. She couldn't wait to get to work.

Wilhelm shrugged and pointed to the bottom of the rails. "True, but isn't prevention the best method? I'll leave a few spaces at their current length for now, but the rest I'll put higher. I'll also knock some drainage holes into the bottom of the rails so that water can drain out easily."

"Aye, that sounds like a fine solution." Caramel nodded to Wilhelm. She then turned around back to Tyra and Spellblind. "Tyra, I will fly up, yer strong so ye can lift up the pieces of wood. I will hold them at the top and then you Spellblind, if ye can, nail them down to the base of the mast, or at least, what remains of it. Ready?"

She replayed what Caramel had said in her head and paid close attention to the sentence structure and language. The implication being that Spellbind was weak and Tyra was strong...

 

Of course she'd say that. You can't handle tough jobs, weakling, she told herself mentally.

"Aye, understood!" Tyra nodded, smirking with confidence, "I shall lift this wood, no problem!"

 

Carefully, she positioned the wood upward, awaiting Caramel's next order. She turned and saw Spellbind looked rather troubled again.

"Why so down, friend?" She asked, concern in her voice.

Spellbind used her horn's magic to help Tyra with lifting up the wood. When Tyra asked her why she seemd so troubled, Spellbind whispered into her ear so Caramel wouldn't hear.

 

"She said... "Tyra, I will fly up, yer strong so ye can lift up the pieces of wood. I will hold them at the top and then you Spellblind, if ye can, nail them down to the base of the mast, or at least, what remains of it. Ready?""

 

"That means I'mm weak and you're strong," she explained. "But I don't blame her. Without this crew, I'd be helpless..."

Tyra tilted her head at Spellbind's explanation, not sure if she understood fully.

"Aye, I am strong," She agreed, flexing a foreleg, "it is in my clan's blood!"

 

She frowned. "However, this does not make you weak. Any job we do here is as important as each other's! It would be much more difficult to repair the ship without you here!"

 

She smiled up at the unicorn. "You are vital to this crew, and do not forget it!"

Spellbind happily sighed looking at Tyra. "I guess so..." she said. "I think I'd be better off as a member of the Shatterhoof clan instead of who I am."]

 

"You know what would be an even better different way to get paid?" she said, remembering Caramel's promise of pay which Spellbind didn't want. "If we got paid Bits every time I beat myself up, you contradict me, and I temporarily stop hurting myself."

She frowned at her self-deprecating comment. "Do not be so hard on yourself, friend. Everypony can make mistakes, including myself. But dwelling on them is not the answer, it is to learn from it and become stronger!"

Scarlett had some how fallen asleep during these entire proceedings. It was a miracle that nobody tripped over her invisible body. She walks over to Caramel, decloaking as she goes. She then asks "What may I do to help? Did you find some wood to build a new mast?"

Quickly wrapping Tyra in levitation magic and holding her in the air for a second before putting her back down, Scarlett says "It's true actually. Tyra's strength just before my suit's capabilities."

 

She turns back to Caramel and says "So, what help do you need?"

"I definitely haven't learnt from that mistake," said Spellbind. "This is at least the fifth time I've gone through my 'boo hoo give me sympathy' routine."

 

She acknowledged Caramel. "Yeah, she is a force to be reckoned with... I overreacted."
