caliber watched radiant with observant eyes. "no, your not well, friend." he said, as he ruffled through his bag and pulled out some cloth and duck tape. "come here," he dressed the wound, very tightly. when he finished, he stood up, and continued along the path up the mountain.

Radiant looked down at the makeshift wound wrapping and he looked back at Caliber "thanks I would of dressed it but had no cloth except my scarf," Radiant said giving Caliber a nod of his head "We should continue." He stated looking ahead of them again.

Tyra watched as Caliber applied the makeshift bandage to Radiant, cocking her head to the side. She certainly hadn't seen tape been involved in mending a wound, but it may be useful to remember for the future.

 

She'd noticed him limping on his bad leg, and in an attempt to make herself useful as well, she trotted over to that side of him.

"Allow me to help you keep balance," she grinned up at him, "lean against me and you shall feel much better!"

Icarus was about to say something before he was suddenly teleported by Blizzard. Appearing back somewere, he curled over, the feeling to vomit overtaking his body. He looked over to the blue pony, his grey eyes specifically going to Blizzard. " Never....use a teleportation spell without warning someone..... urrgh" He mubled before cursing in his own language.

 

"S-so... again.... may I see your leg ? IF you want it healed...." ICarus said.

Radiant continued limping through the snow heading westward with Caliber and Tyra. When Tyra came trotting beside him offering to let him lean on her. he kept his eyes forward with a stern expression on his face "I'm fine this wound is nothing, I've survived worse in situations on my own" he assured Tyra continuing through the snow. 

 

'next time I can't let my guard down just because i'm in a squadron.' he thought to himself.

Blizzard replied, "Yeah go ahead, I just wanted us to be out of that storm and closer to town so I could protect it easier. That storm is no joke, and we can't afford to be in something like that." He then showed the medic his leg, "How does it look? It was nothing major, just a cut that I got from fighting. I should be fine right?"

Icarus looked over the wound on his leg. It was only a minor cut, a healing spell would do good. Focusing his energies, he transfered his power into his horn, and then onto the leg of Blizzard. Soon, scar tissue began to form, and the wound scabbed over. " Give it an hour , and it should be looking just fine" Icarus informed blizzard as he wrapped a bandage around the blue ponies leg.

Blizzard was happy, "Thanks doc! But hey what about you? Are you ok? Sorry about the sudden teleportation, but I didn't want us, well you, to get swept away, and/or become frozen and die! But uh, you're right, next time I'll give you more of an advisory about the need to teleport. Ok? Now, how are you feeling?"

caliber was getting impatient. "whers the refugees?" he asked, annoyed. what he would be rather doing is looking for the master of the ice elementals. but! helping others come first. "wait...i think i hear someone!" he closed his eyes, and effectivly shut off all senses except for hearing, boosting it dramatically. his eyes snapped open, "come on! i think he's hurt!" he dashed in the direction of the sound he heard.

Tyra was rather grateful the group was making some distance from that portal, she was not a fan of high temperatures.

 

She cocked an eyebrow as Caliber was beginning to get impatient. He suddenly stopped and closed his eyes, ears flicking.

She went over and raised a hoof to poke him, until his eyes snapped open and he yelled about somepony being hurt before galloping off.

 

She looked up at Radiant, blinking. "I suppose we should follow him, yes?"

Meanwhile at the town Blizzard was busy fortifying it, "That one there, over there, some here, and waaay over there.Ok the ice charges are set, anything hostile coming close to here will freezplode and--" He stopped and repeated what he said, "Freezsplode? Freezsplode?! That's an awesome one! I'm so gonna trademark that to myself!" He then runs back over to Icarus but stops and thinks, "He hasn't said anything, maybe I should leave him alone until he feels better." But he couldn't help but ask, "Dude? Are you feeling better?"

Radiant raised his brow at Tyra and he began slowly working up to a gallop. "Of course we can't leave any pony alone in this storm." He turned his attention galloping with a slight limp after Caliber. He trudged through the snow thankful he had the ice cleats on otherwise he'd be struggling with his injured leg.

caliber skidded to a stop, and picked up a pony from the snow. "im pretty sure he's a refugee. look" he pointed to the raggedy cloths. "c'mon, we gotta get him back." he put the refugee on his back, and turned towards tyra and radiant. "now, which way is town?" caliber asked

Radiant walked up to caliber and looked closely at the pony. The pony was still breathing and partially conscious. "Excuse can you speak? We're there others with you?" Radiant asked the injured pony.

 

The pony nodded weakly pointing back in the direction he came from before passing out. Radiant looked at the other two "we need to find the others if they are still alive. Caliber if you would bring him back to the village Tyra and I will look for the others." Radiant pointed his hoof back toward the village they came from in the south east. "If you feel the neednto.continue with us we need a way to keep this pony warm."

Tyra nodded and galloped after Radiant, keeping at his pace in case his bad leg acted up. He was correct; these ponies needed their help, and they were going to get it.

 

The two arrived and noticed Caliber hoisting a poor stallion onto his back, who didn't exactly look any comfier.

She looked up at Radiant and nodded at his instructions, galloping ahead with him.

 

"I doubt even the foals back home could survive in such weather," she yelled at him over the wind, keeping at his running speed.

"no, he needs to get to safety." caliber said, slinging the almost-unconsiuns body on his back. "tell me what happens, ok?" he turned and trekked back to the town, taking care to not hurt the pony. when he got there, he dashed over to icarus, "this guy was in the mountains, can ya help him?"

Radiant galloped alongside Tyra. with adrenaline flowing through his body over the thought of having to save the other ponies, Radiant forgot about his injured leg and managed to run as if wasn't injured at all. He began pulling ahead of Tyra and through the wind could hear voices yelling out for somepony.

Blizzard was reading his book under a tree when he saw Caliber come back, "Aaah!" He then runs back into the tavern to put his book away and came back, "Holy Celestia! What's wrong with that guy? Caliber what happened? You didn't run into any trouble did you?"

"not too much...but we found this guy freezing. well, i found him, but that dosnt matter." he looked at ice blizzard. "you upping this towns defense?"  caliber left the frostbitten pony with icarus, and walked back to the tavern, and getting himself a drink. "more mines?"

Blizzard was cocky, "Yep haha! Never fails." He said as a mine went off behind him in the distance as he walked through the tavern door. *zzz-crrr-shing!* "There's one now. All too perfect, So uh, where are Tyra and Raid? Did they keep going? Anyway, I got another book from a shop nearby and it tells me about this area, like the climate is stormy for example!" He put the info book on the table for Caliber to look at, "I just love books don't you?"

OOC: This and his other m rated book are two different books BTW.

Tyra blinked and watched as Radiant sprinted ahead of her, despite his bad leg. She nodded in approval, liking his display of dedication.

 

Her ears perked up as she too heard voices calling for help over the wind. She picked up the speed and quickly caught up to Radiant.

Silhouettes began to form over the snow, which as the two got closer, were revealed to be ponies. A stallion, a mare, and a pair of foals, all wrapped up in ragged clothes.

A family.

 

"Are you going to the next town?" Tyra yelled over the howling wind, and got a nod from the ponies, "Do not fret, we will escort you there!"

 

She glanced up to Radiant. "Do you think there are more?"

Radiant looked at Tyra and back at the family of ponies "were there anymore behind you that you know of?" He asked hoping they would be the last group.

 

The older mare who was most likely the mother of the foals spoke up "There was a large group behind us, I don't know where they went though. One minute they were right behind us next they weren't." She said with her voice shivering from the cold.

 

Radiant looked back at Tyra "you take them to the village, i'll continue onward to gather up hopefully the last group." Radiant ran off into the storm leaving Tyra with the family.

Tyra blinked upon hearing the news of a large group of refugees further on. An even bigger shock came over her and Radiant ordered her to take the family ahead and let him carry on.

 

"Wait, are you sure?!" She tried to yell, but he was already too far away far away to hear her.

 

It was just her and the family.

"Alright, everypony stay close to me!" She ordered, "The village is not far, I will lead you there!" She looked down to the foals and gave them a grin. "And do not touch my axe; it is very sharp and I need it for protecting you from monsters."

The kids looked at each other with wonder.

 

She turned and backtracked down the road she and Radiant came, occasionally looking back to make sure the family was following. They looked weakened by the weather and chaos, but she was certain they would all make it.

"yeah. i was thinking on writing my own book, ya know." he took a look at the book, "cool, this explains the weather...oh, i found some guy in the snow, and came back here, they should be back, soon." he put the book down, "you got any other books?"

 

(making a move! lets see if i can get it!)

Radiant continued forward through the storm looking for any ponies out in the storm. "anypony out here?" he shouted that could be heard well over the wind. 

 

He continued running barely able to hear a voice over the wind and the crunching of snow. He turned toward the voice soon finding a group of 10 ponies huddled under a group of trees to stay out of the snow. There seemed to be two families of four and two stragglers. He approached them slowly, they were all faced inward to the center of the group not noticing Radiant until he spoke up "Is everypony alright? Is anyone injured?" He asked the large group as all their heads snapped toward him.

 

A young colt stepped out of the crowd and spoke up for the group with his voice shivering from the cold "I think we are all alright, just so cold. Are you here to help us?" He asked looking as if he didn't believe some pony would find them.

 

Radiant stepped closer to the group "I am in fact here to lead you back to a nearby village it is near a fifteen minute trek back to the southeast. We should get moving there have been hostiles in the area and it'd be best not to remain in one place for long. One more thing were there any more ponies that you know of traveling the same direction as you all?" He asked the group.

 

The young colt spoke up again "I don't think there were anymore behind us, I know that there were some ponies ahead of us." He said and Radiant nodded at him. "Alright I know you all are cold and possibly weakened from this weather, but let's go." Radiant commanded of the group.

 

They all slowly got on their hooves and begun following radiant down the hill toward the village.
