Icarus looked over at Blizzard, slightly annoyed."The other medical personell should have taken him in and are probably treating his wounds. I am busy with a patient right now" ICarus said as he sealed up the ponies leg with a cauterizing  spell, and wrapped a bandage around the stump before applying a healing spell.

Blizzard was relieved, "Ok, Thanks doc." He then goes to the other med tent to see how his friend was doing. The other medics told him that Caliber needed to rest, "Hmmm...That must suck for a 'get up and move' pony like him. Oh well, I hope he gets better soon." He then steps outside and thinks, "*sigh* not much I can do now, but wait." Then he trotted over to Tyra and Radiant, "So guys, what do you plan on doing now?" He asked.

"Tyra!" Icarus walked over too the  mare," Thank you once again for helping me. Luckily this pony will be alive and well. I should be able to fashion him a prosthetic leg. One of my advance designs as well, it is almost indistinguishable from a normal leg" Icarus said, smiling beneath his mask. " Oh, and your clothing should be mostly repaired b now, but there may be a small remaining mark. Hopefully they will be too your liking. Just drop by my tent and pick them up" He said, before walking away to attend to the many other ponies in the tent, helping them all as much as he could.

 

"I should learn that sleeper hold" Icarus mumbled to himself. It seemed a lot easier then holding the pony down and forcing them through such pain. He always hated seeing people hurt. And  the times when a patient died, he always tried to give them the funeral that they preferred. He felt it was thee least he could do for the ponies he had failed....including his family.

"It was my pleasure, my friend," Tyra grinned up at Icarus, happy that she was of assistance. Her grin just widened upon hearing her gear had been repaired. "Ah, my thanks! I shall retrieve them now!"

 

The puny powerhouse dashed out of the medical tent and made a beeline for Icarus's, poking her head inside to find her tunic and harness right on the table.

The tunic had been patched back together, and the straps of the harness were good as new. She smiled proudly, and quickly put them back on. She felt completely herself again.

 

She proudly marched out into the camp, almost like she wanted to show off that she had her equipment back.

Radiant looked at Tyra who approached him "it's fine, I shared the same concerns about you. I can't let an injured ally charge into a situation. For the record a unicorn's stamina is actually faster then most other ponies because we have magic." He stated looked bac at his bag, he then remembered he wrapped Tyra up in his wrappings.

 

He looked back at her "sorry for tying you up by the way, I only did it so you didn't push yourself." He said as blizzard ran up wondering what the group was doing next. "for now we can wait for Icarus to finish."

 

Icarus approached them as well thanking Tyra for herror assistance. Before he walked of Radiant called to him "Icarus can I get another roll of wrappings for my wounds." He asked.

Blizzard understood. "Yes sir!" He then saw Tyra marching like a schoolfilly with new anything, "Tch, she's almost as cocky as Rainbow Dash, not bad. If you guys need me I'll be in my ice tent." *creates ice tent* "If you guys need me for anything, just come get me. And don't worry. it's not that cold." As he went inside he rested for a bit and read more of his Rarity magazine. "Oh Rarity my love, you are one of the many things in my life that keeps me going.    You're brave, generous, talented, and so beautiful!" He then thinks to himself, "I hope nopony heard that.  " as he continues to browse the magazine, "O///O *noseblood*"

"Yes you may. And thank you as well, you will have to teach me how to do that choke hold. It would be nice when we have nothing to ease a ponies pain" Icarus said, grabbing a roll of bandages and walking over to Radiant. He looked Radian over and saw a good amount of his bandages had been removed. Using his horn and magic, he quickly and efficintly applied the new bandages to all of his exposed wounds, making sure they were all put on right and sturdy.

 

" There you go.  You probably wont need the bandages by the time you wake up tomorrow" Icarus said.

Radiant watched as Icarus applied the bandages to him, he would of applied them himself as to not inconvenience icarus but doesn't hurt to have them done right. "Thank you Icarus, once any severely injured ponies are stabilized you should get some rest, you've earned it." Radiant said as Icarus finished wrapping him. "I'll show you that hold when we're not busy, otherwise I think I'm going to go rest."

 

Radiant left the medical area and found Blizzard's ice hut knocking on the wall. "Blizzard make sure to get some rest, we're all going to need it. For all we know Tybalt will pull us back into the city." He said continuing through the outpost.

 

He saw Tyra trotting around enjoying her newly repaired armor. "Tyra make sure to get some rest tonight, we've all been up for the last night and day." He insisted continuing to his tent. Once he reached his tent in went inside to relax.

Blizzard heard Radiant's words, "Ok good night!" then prepared to sleep and looked at his magazine cover, "*sigh* Good night my love. May Celestia watch over you and keep you safe Diamond Goddess.   " He then stows his magazine away, and prepares to get some sleep under his ice blankets.

Caliber woke up with bandages all around his body. "What the-" he looked at his doctor. And attempted to sit up. Blazing pain shot through his body, and he froze. "I wouldn't move if I were you" his doctor said, "you muscles are all torn up. Its a miracle you survived." gritting his teeth, caliber stood up, and wobbled out. "Ice! Tyra!" he called out, as he shuffled around. He wanted to know if his friends were safe.

 

(Covered with bandages. Looking like a walking corpse)

Tyra perked up at Radiant's voice, and grinned over to him as she listened.

 

"Ah, a grand idea," she nodded, and waved back at him, "I shall do that!"

 

She trotted back over to her tent, and spotted Caliber coming out of one of the medical tents.

"Ah, good to see that you're still alive!" She called over, before disappearing into her tent.

 

She remembered the roll of paper the bird gave her, and she sat on her bedroll and gave it a read.

It was...interesting, to say the least.

 

She shrugged, deciding she'd worry about it later, and lay down for a well-deserved sleep.

Blizzard was almost asleep when he heard his friend call, "Caliber? Caliber! You're standing! Yes! You're alive I'd knew you'd make it! Good thing I brought you all the way back here, or else you'd be half dead. How ya doin'? Anything broken? Wait a minute what am I saying, of course you're fine right?"

Caliber watched Tyra disappear into her tent. He shrugged, and looked for radiant. Then, a bird dropped a letter on his head. He opened it, and read the contents. "Ok" he said, "let's go" he looked around and saw IB. "You know I'm okay!" he said happily ' but these wounds are killing me!' he thought, 'imma have to lay down somewhere soon...'

Blizzard flailed his hooves in the air, "No, no wait! We're gonna leave out tomorrow, and Raid's gonna take us there. In the meantime, you (like all of us) should get some rest ok? And hey....glad to have you back bro." *gives Caliber an awesome hoofshake* "See ya tomorrow ok?"

Caliber nodded, and shuffled back to his tent, giving radiant a nod. When he got in, he plopped on the bed, and fell asleep, content his friends made it.

Icarus kept working with the sick and wounded. He was tired, but luckily everyone seemed like they were in stable condition. After talking to the other doctors for a few minutes, Icarus walked over to the amputee to check on him before exiting the infirmary tent. Trotting over to his tent, he sat down and derobed. Reaching into his bag, he pulled out his journal and began scratching down his thoughts of the day.

Blizzard then lays down to think, "*sigh* Nice to know that my friend is ok, but like Raid said, we need to rest up for tomorrow, so it's back to sleep for me." He then takes one last look at his Rarity magazine and says, "Sweet dreams my love." and stows it and goes to sleep.

As the sun rose over the distant mountains Radiant crawled out of his bed roll. Once he got to his hooves he removed his bandages realizing his wounds had healed nicely. He put his bag on his back and begun walking through the outpost. 

 

As he was walking he noticed only a handful of guards were patrolling the outpost. Once Radiant was at the edge of the outpost he could still see smoke rising from the city in the distance. Curious of what was happening Radiant begun walking down the path to go check on the city.

Blizzard woke up as the sun came through his ice tent. He grabs everything he may need, stows it, removes his tent, and goes to check on his friend Caliber, "Gooooooood morning fire bro? How ya doin' huh? Feeling any better?" he asks jumping up and down with excitement for what the day may bring.

Tyra rose out of her bedroll, and gave a long loud yawn as she stretched out her legs, sighing with relief at the pops of air between her joints.

She put on her gear and ventured out of her tent into the encampment, the sun shining beautifully in the morning sky. A good omen for the day to come. She kept her bandages on her body, just in case the dark magic hadn't worked its way out of her system yet.

 

Though first, she required some breakfast. All that fighting yesterday really worked up an appetite.

It was a stretch, but she wondered if that old fishmonger's stand in the city was still standing. She sauntered to the edge of the outpost, and looked over the road.

 

"Hey, miss Shatterhoof!" A foal's voice called out from behind her. She perked up and looked behind her, to find some of the foals from yesterday.

"Oh, good morning my little friends," she grinned at them, turning to face them proper, "can I help you?"

"Uh, we were wondering," a filly mutters, darting her eyes shyly, "if you could show us some moves with your axe?"

 

Tyra's grin grew wider at the request. She would've liked to go get some food, but who was she to deny these kids a little show? Her breakfast could wait a little longer, surely.

"Absolutely I can!" She declared, getting a group of excited faces in response, and she led the kids to an area with crude training dummies set up. "I will show you moves you can only see from those in my homeland, just for you!"

 

She grabbed her axe between her teeth and started hacking at a dummy, the foals watching with intrigue.

Radiant reached the city unable to hear any sounds of combat, "Is it finally over?" He muttered to himself as he continued back to the north gate.

 

Radiant was soon at the north gate, he saw the bodies of the dogs had doubled from when Radiant and Tyra had left. There were also the bodies of ponies as well but their deaths were only in the double digits while the dogs were near the four digits. Radiant walked through the bodies leaving the city to the north. He found that the tunnels had been collapsed halting the assault. "Where are the remaining ponies? They're not at the outpost, did they venture into the tunnels before they collapsed?" He questioned himself curious as to what was going on. 

 

He went back into the city to make sure there were no civilians in the city.

Blizzard noticed his friend was still asleep so he decided to leave him alone until awoke, "Heh, sleeping in, eh? Don't worry buddy I'll see ya later." He then waves to the refugees and the colt that talked to him yesterday waved to hime at Pinkie Pie speed and the biggest grin IB had ever seen. IB thought, "Hmmm looks like I have a fan." He then smiles confidently as he walks.

Icarus awoke. It was another day to start working agian. Hopefully the wounded refugees had survived the night. According to before he left, they all should have been fine. For a bit, he sat up and stretched out, before pulling over his journal, plotting down his thoughts of the night before. We also pulled a small ration out of the corner of the tent, and snacked on it as he went about his morning.

Calibers breath was ragged. There was nothing he could do but wait in the bed for himself to heal. 'My Sword...it needs to be polished...' he thought. He noticed a little filly poking her head in, and chattering something about if he was a hero. 'Ah. It appears this town knows how to show gratitude.' he thought. He told her how he stood alone, aagainst hords of foes, and how he defeated them with that very sword. He was talking about how it needed it's daily polish, when she volunteered.he chuckled. "Go ahead, knock yourself out!" he said before trying once again to get to sleep.

With a grunt of exertion, Tyra gave the training dummy one final swing, taking off its head and letting its straw innards spurt out as the burlap skull landed on the ground with a heavy thud.

 

The foals, keeping a safe distance at Tyra's insistence, watched in awe at her display. They hadn't seen any of these moves from the local guards before, not even the really good ones!

"That was so cool!" One colt yelled.

"I wanna use an axe too!" A filly squeaked.

"Can we try yours out?" Another colt asked, causing a wave of agreement amongst the other kids.

 

Tyra grinned and returned her axe to its harness. "I am afraid this axe is specially for me, nopony else is allowed to wield it."

"Awwww..." the foals moaned, heads and ears lowering.

Tyra hated to see kids upset, so an idea quickly sprang to mind. "However, I am sure there are some practice weapons around, if you ask a guard! You all have the look of a warrior about you!"

 

Their faces all lit up once again, and they all nodded and gave her a thank-you before scampering off to the nearest guard, surrounding him and refusing to let him go until he agreed to let them at some toy swords.

 

She laughed and shook her head, being reminded of her own foalhood.
